Wow! What a fabulous find. We had originally intended to stay our full 4 nights in Mendoza at Posada Verde but at the last minute decided to spend the first 3 nights in the region of Lujon de Coya and just the 1 night at Verde Oliva in Maipu. A decision we regretted as soon as we arrived at Verde Oliva.

From the moment the gates open to reveal the tranquil and picturesque setting, the beautiful converted building housing charming boutique rooms (all with Verde's own fabulous Olive Oil beauty products), and the sun trapped pool nestled in amongst Verde Olivia's very own vineyards, we knew we were in for a treat. Julia's hospitality was wonderful - nothing was to much trouble - bikes we'd requested the day before were ready and waiting for us to use as soon as we arrived and her advice on where to go and what to see was perfect (NB - biking to all the vine yards around Maipu is so much fun - however, do make sure you do a separate trip with a driver to some of the more high end and incredibly picturesque vineyards in the Uco Valley and Lujon de Cuyo - Julia can arrange this. Also make an effort to bike to Carinae - it's well worth it).
Special mention for the dinner Julia cooked for us which was one of our highlights of dining in Argentina. As big foodies we were dubious about dining in-house but previous reviews convinced us this would be a real treat and how right we were. Julia's food is all about showcasing Argentinian culture and using fresh local ingredients to produce fabulous mouth watering authentic food which packs a punch on presentation and, most importantly, taste without being too fancy. The beef we had was mouthwatering - my boyfriend is a huge steak lover, I however, need a lot of convincing - this was one of the few times I've understood what it is he loves so much! The dinner setting is one of near perfection - not much beats drinking delicious wine produced from the vines you are sitting amongst under the Mendoza stars.
We had the pleasure of meeting another Irish couple staying there at the time who also seemed to have really enjoyed their time at Verde.
If you are looking to explore the Mendoza region I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you Julia and co!

Also - their is a restaurant just a 2 minute walk away which I'd really recommend for lunch called Casa de Campo - full of locals - the home made bread is brilliant and the rabbit stew is legendary. A deservedly very popular spot. And for great loose leaf teas, homemade delicious cakes and a spot of wine el Parador de los Suenos is a slightly hippy but very friendly spot and well worth stopping off at for a pre dinner drink.

This is the perfect place to stay in Maipu. The converted farmhouse is just fabulous and finished to an amazing standard. As there are only 5 rooms you barely see anyone else so you really feel at home. The pool area is wonderful, beautifully clean and very private.

The location is great - there are many vineyards a short pedal away!

Great all-rounder.

We stayed after finishing our trip to Antarctica we wanted a place to relax and use as a base for wine tasting and it was everything we had hoped for. Our first day since we did not arrive until midnight after much travel I had arranged to have lunch there and it was lovely. They can arrange for all your needs. Grounds are great

We loved our stay at this lovely olive ranch! We arrived late in the evening and Julia served us a romantic candlelit dinner out on the beautiful patio. I was amazed at the beautiful details of the entire premise, and the individual rooms. Although we had high expectations from the photos and reviews, it was much much better than the photographs depicted. The rooms had historic detail, but are updated to include modern comforts.

The entire staff was wonderful and planned detailed itineraries for each of our days. One thing I would say is that, like everything in the Mendoza area, the posada is very difficult to find -- there is no sign and the street number that Julia will give you on google maps is different from the actual street number displayed on the gate. Our biggest regret of this trip was renting a car instead of hiring a car service as we spent literally hours driving around trying to find un-marked streets and buildings. Just hire a driver each day and you'll have a great stay. We wish we had stayed longer!

From the moment we arrived at the Posada Verde Oliva this became our favorite place to stay! The posada is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees and has a gorgeous Mediterranean style pool. We were one of two couples staying at the posada our first night and had a private dinner on the patio and then watched the stars with a bottle of wine on the lawn. The environment was very quiet and relaxing in contrast to the cities from which we were traveling. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. The AC was great as temperatures reached 100 degrees during our stay.

While the surrounds were absolutely beautiful, it was the staff that made the posada truly special. Polly set us up with bicycles for a winery tour of Maipu and then for my husband's birthday recommended a restaurant at the base of the Andies that was one of the best meals of our lives. Julia, the owner, Carolina and everyone else went above and beyond to make our stay unique, comfortable and truly special.
