Description: We love what we do and do it with love. Black and white is our building, the old postmasters house in it's faded Victorian jeans and at night you cannot miss the coloured fairy lights. The sign in Rissik street at our entrance says :" CARPE DIEM Restaurant & Hacienda Lodge" and there you will find us waiting with food, smiles, accommodation and occasional live music. We are open every day of the week as well as Sundays and offer a versatile a-la-carte menu

Wow, was amazed to find such a nice restaurant in komatipoort. Great menu and friendly service. Will defenitely go back. They even have snoek and patats on their menu. Great ambience, nice setting. Cosy little garden where you can just relax.

“A good restaurant”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

We had dinner there on our way to Kruger, and found the place a nice to have dinner: a mix of typîcal dishes and classical ones, good wine, and reasonably good service. The terrace is nice too.

“A great evening out”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

We were on our way to the Kruger Park recently and stopped at Carpe Diem for a meal, and boy, were we surprised! The food was great, the service was prompt and the vibe was amazing. The background music was the perfect compliment to our delicious meal. Not only that, but we were surprised when the chef joined the singer onstage for a blues jam! We had a truly great evening, and will be sure to come back for more next time we are in the Lowveld. That's what holidays are made of!

“Dining out”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

We dined at the Carpe Diem, for the first time one Saturday evening, after I saw the very tempting advertisement board. On it were, crab curry, calamari heads, and fresh sea bream, just to mention a few. There are so many choices on the menu,it seems impossible to stock all these ingredients in such a small town, but all the meals were available, they have an abundance of sea food

,pasta, pizzas and even a selection of South African foods, such as skilpadjies and bobotie.
The owners and staff are all so friendly and have no problem coming over to the table for a chat,we had a wonderful evening, and will definitely go back.
