“Older hotel, not too bad overall”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

The hotel staff are nice and helpful. The property is a bit old but spacious, really small elevator but only 4 floors in the building so not a big deal. I was staying on the top floor with a balcony that oversee the entire nearby area. The view was excellent during the day.
The breakfast service was very slow at the hotel, had to practically get the utensils myself and waited 10 minutes for drinks to arrive - it's buffet service.

A very nice looking hotel at the end of a very nice shopping street, a nice breakfast and hotel was clean and tidy. Dining options and bars were very nice and close by. The room (top floor) was lovely and large with a lovely view, shame the balcony didn't have any furniture to sit outside.

Nice hotel, friendly staff and comfy rooms (that could actually be a little bigger). Nice outdoor pool.
Could use a little renovation, looks kinda old.
Didn't have the chance to try the restaurant, but there's plenty in the vicinity.
Overall, warmly recommended

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of years before with my family although i was in a business trip to Athens. The room was great, clean and lovely decorated. The stuff friendly, the breakfast was excellent and of good variety. Kifissia is not the center, but that was the best part. The hotel is just in the center of Kifissia, something which made it even better for us to out for shopping or dinner etc. The hotel is just infront of a park and not far away from Kifisiasboulevard. It is accersible from the metro station and in generall transportation is quite easy. Also in 10-15 minutes drive you can go to the Mall in order to have some fun, enjoy a meal, shopping or just hanging around in your free time. In general is a very good 5 stars luxury hotel and i fully recomend it.

Hotel is located very far from the city's main action. In Metro its the last stop while coming back from the heart / center of the city. Beds make to much noise when you move around etc, hard bed not at all 5 star hotel. For tourist i wont ever recommend this hotel. Breakfast was average nothing much to eat hot. SO over all i would rate this as a 3.5 star hotel. Just by having a swimming pool hotel doesn't becomes 5 star. Its expensive also , so when in Athens just book around downtown area only (Tourist area).

Lift - Very Old style
Reception Staff - helpful
Room style - Old but clean
Bath amenities - Ok sort nothing great

The Theoxenia's main asset is his location in the heart of Kifisia. The hotel itself is nice, however, we had booked a double bed room only to realize that the double bed was simply two beds put next to each other which was not as comfortable as one would desire. The bed issue was the only downside of an otherwise pleasant stay.

The staff is nice and polite and, as mentioned earlier, the hotel is strategically located in a great shopping area with many restaurants to choose from.

Highly recommended for anyone who is visiting Athens while based from the North of it.

It wasn't all that easy to locate, as the one-way system is challenging, but when you do, the Theoxenia Palace Hotel couldn't have been a more welcoming conclusion to a week's busy sightseeing tour of mainland Greece. Away from the bustle of downtown Athens, in the upmarket neighbourhood of leafy Kifissia, it was nice to be welcomed by professionally friendly staff, to have the car valet-parked and the luggage whisked upstairs by porters. A beautiful swimming pool sparkled temptingly beyond a marble staircase. Once a small muddle over rooms had been resolved, we all appreciated the spaciousness, good pillows, good shower, brightness, quiet taste and overall comfort. Nothing to do but relax, have a swim, freshen up, then stroll down Kifissia Avenue for a spot of retail and people-spotting.
A previous review mentions the unalluring seventies-style restaurant space. I agree. The menu had little appeal either, so instead we opted to eat at a cool modern restaurant, recommended by Costas at reception, fifty yards down the road - no hardship. I'm reluctant to pick holes in the Theoxenia on this account, as they tried immensely hard to be helpful, and succeeded - as befits a self-styled luxury hotel - in organising excellent in-room manicures for myself and my 2 daughters. They were great too about directions to the airport the next day, and produced a reasonable breakfast. But you somehow got the impression that even the Theoxenia is suffering from Greece's recession. Not enough staff meant nice Costas was in charge of everything. There were glitches, like a badly-attached shower-curtain, and the tendency of the lift lights to switch off automatically if you delayed pressing the floor button, plunging you in darkness. But these are small points. We were glad to stay in this quiet haven, and very much enjoyed our brief experience of upper middle-class residential Athens.
