We recently stayed at the Villa Bella...the service and hospitality is excellent! They are a small and friendly staff willing to do anything for you. Rosa's homemade breakfast was delicious every morning. Made to order and served from about 9 - 11AM in a beautiful outdoor setting. Rosa does a wonderful job cleaning the room. Fresh towels were brought everyday. Bottled water topped up daily. Alfonzo, a friendly young man lives on-site, speaks pretty good English and gave us lots of exploring ideas. He even offered to take my hubby fishing on his day off. Elsa, the owner visits during breakfast every AM and is very informative and charming. Everyone goes out of their way to ensure an amazing vacation. The gardens are beautiful. The 2 mexican type villas are brightly painted and unique-there are 5 very different private suites. The ambiance was lovely and peaceful-sometimes we had the place to ourselves as most guests are out exploring during the day. We really enjoyed the pool overlooking the town of La Cruz. Views are breathtaking.
Philos has great ribs and live entertainment-talented group of musicians. The Sunday market at the marina offers pretty much everything-lots of homemade preserves, sauces, breads. There are several fresh fish outlets at the marina. We bought prawns and cooked them at the inn-outdoor kitchen. Elva was kind enough to allow us to use the kitchen. We ate at the La Cruz Yacht Club-excellent food, atmosphere and service. The Tacos at Tacos on the Street were great and reasonable.
Negatives: as with most small mexican towns, you will hear barking dogs and roosters in the early hours of the AM. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. The garden suites are quiet
Evas Brickhouse at the marina was expensive with small portions.Do not recommend.
We did two day trips to Sayulita just loved it-great beach bars (Captain Cooks) seafood platter was to die for), great pina coladas. Spent the entire time watching the surfers and receiving the best service imaginable. We used the bus system - great. Overall We would highly recommend staying at the VB and visiting Sayulita! We thank Elsa, Rosa and Alfonso!!
