“Beautiful Property”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

We stayed in one of the penthouse villas that had amazing views and a private plunge pool. When we wanted privacy and serenity we stayed here but when we wanted to be more social we went down to the pool above the beach club or down to the beach club itself. It was the best of both worlds. The beach club had great lunch and they had some seriously strong drinks. Dinner was not that great and I wouldn't recommend it. The concierge was very helpful in arranging rentals on property for surfing and also booking external activities and taxis. Note when you take a taxi negotiate the price up front otherwise they will gouge you.

There are zero stores in the area so you need to stock up at Walmart or Mega on your way in. Make sure to get plenty of bottled water.

The property is meticulously maintained and the staff are all extremely helpful. The ocean outside the property is rather rocky and sometimes the water is full of kelp and seaweed and therefore turns brown. It's fine to swim in but just be aware it's not clear blue water.

It's about a 30 minute drive back to Puerta Vallarta which is busy and touristy. The better option for dinners is driving 15 minutes in the other direction to Punta Mita which is a small little town with quite a few good restaurant options. You can also do surf lessons, snorkeling, diving etc. out of there.

We travel a lot... with kids and hands down this is one of our favorite destinations to vacation. It is SUPER QUIET... and we love it. It surpasses Hawaii any day. No crowds, beautiful beach... perfect sunrises and sunsets. We rent our property through VRBO... it is a great deal!

Went down for a girls trip and booked building Pacifico #409. Our 3 bedroom condo was very nice. It was on the end so our views were just gorgeous and unobstructed. The unit itself is on the 3rd floor so the plunge pool gets sun all day and was the perfect temperature. The living area & kitchen are on the main level and the bedrooms are downstairs. I noticed the ground floor units pools did get a lot of shade. This was my first time at Los Veneros, although we have stayed at the Four Seasons Punta Mita condos several times. The condo was stocked with towels, laundry soap for the washer/dryer, dish soap and dishwasher liquid but does not have amenities like body soap, shampoo, conditioner or hand soap in the bathrooms or more than 1 bathrobe for the whole unit. When I asked about these amenities I was reminded that these are privately owned condos. So my advice would be to find out specifically what your condo owner provides so you are not surpised. Im used to having the bath amenities supplied so I didnt bring my own and had to buy while I was down there. We had a very nice concierge who tried to help us as much as he could but we only had hot water in the master bathroom once during our 5 day stay and we had to shower in the other bathrooms. The AC also wouldnt go below 24 in the master which is a bit warm for sleeping and that wasnt fixed either. There was also an interesting (sewage like) smell that was coming from the laundry room. The food and service at the beach club were fantastic as were being able to use the kayak and paddle boards. The beach is long and great for early morning walks with almost no rocks. It was a $40. USD cab ride from the condo to restaurant row in Punta Mita. You must go to si senor for the cocktails and food, as well as Margaritas and Blue Shrimp. We had in house massages that were incredible. It was very quiet as we saw 2 other groups of women traveling together and only a few families. The property has a nice gym, many pools and it really a special place. I would definitely stay here again but I would make sure to ask more questions because its clear that once you are there, its Mexico and if something is broke it may not be fixed.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask a LOT of questions

If you are looking for a full service hotel with lots of entertainment for the kids and people with tattoos running all over the place this is not your place. However, if you are interested in a private, low key vacation in a quiet location with nobody to bother you then this is a great choice. We were there in March so it was fairly quiet. We rented our place through VRBO and it was fully furnished with three bedrooms. We didnt get the private pool, but the large pool for our building was a fight of stairs away so we didnt need it. We loved that there were two gates and lots of security, we never felt unsafe. We also loved the beach and spent every morning walking on it. Nobody approached us to sell us things on this beach - ever. It is not very close to any shopping so its better to stop at Walmart on the way over. The restaurant was fabulous, but we did have food in the unit, thankfully, since the restaurant and bar costs added up fast! The waves were great so if we had our kids with us I am confident they would have loved it, but we did not bring them. The grounds were beautiful.

The only negatives for me about this place is the lack of any place to buy anything at all on site, so you really need to have a car to stay here. You can rent boogie boards and surf boards, but the concierge has to bring them in from a rental company, they dont have anything there which was strange to me.

4th time traveling to Puerto Vallarta. Sometimes the beaches are rocky, sometimes no surf or dirty sand. Los Veneros has THE BEST beach - and it feels private. Great surf for the kids to boogie board. Pacifico 102 had private heated pool. Look no more - rent the beach front units with private pools. we had 2 families of 4 in one unit with rooms to spare. Stock your fridge though. Getting on and off property is a bit of a hassle if you don't have a car.

Room Tip: pay more for beach front and private pool

Using our membership privileges with INSPIRATO, we stayed in a two-story, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath penthouse suites (Agave Building 502) that overlooked Banderas Bay. First, let me say that the service that you are provided by INSPIRATO is outstanding. All your pre-trip needs handled, transportation, stocking your kitchen prior to your arrival, a Destination Concierge available 24 hours per day to take care of your every request and more. Note: I am unbiased and do not work for INSPIRATO so I am not "selling" this organization but I would be more than happy to discuss their service delivery if interested.)

The drive is an easy 16 miles, about 30-45 minutes, north of the airport. (40-45 during afternoon traffic but only 30 when we returned to the airport on a Tuesday afternoon). It is about 3/4 of the way to Punta Mita and the Four Seasons or St, Regis resorts so it is closer to PV and the airport than these two resorts.

The view of Banderas Bay is beautiful as you face west across the bay toward the Pacific with the La Marietas Islands in the foreground. The Sunsets are beautiful and stunning. The beach in front of the resort is flat and deep so that there is plenty of places to place your chairs and umbrella and still be close to the water. The water in front of the resort is very swimable. The surf is calm and easy to manage for adults and kids. Only a few surfers, if any, were seen. The bay was so calm, past the first break of waves, that kayaks and paddle boards were more common. You can walk the beach to the right for about a 1/8 of a mile, and to the left for about 3/4 mile (+/-). Very, very uncrowded.

The villa's top floor (where you enter) features most of the common area amenities such as a full kitchen with granite counter top and top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen there is large, open, beautifully decorated living and dining area as well and patio and outdoor dining area on the top balcony with a sweeping views of the bay and amazing sunsets. Off of the living room is an office/den with satellite television, WiFi internet access, etc.

On the lower floor are three spacious, tastefully decorated bedrooms with two king beds each with a full private bath and laundry facilities. The lower level walks out to the the lower patio and private infinity end plunge pool that looks directly west over Banderas Bay and the sunset. You can set at the edge of your infinity edge pool and watch the sunset every night. There are also larger pools in front of each building as well as well as a pool at the beach club with full service from the staff for lunch, dinner, drinks, etc.

This is not a resort in the truest sense so if you are looking for a lot of activities, restaurants, things to do within walking distance, this is not the place for you. This is a laid back, get away spot for relaxing with just one or two of you or with your family. We do not normally frequent the large resorts due to the masses of people and/or kids, but here, with only 41 units, the mix of adults only and families with kids was very nice and unobtrusive.

You will have to drive or take a taxi for about 15 - 20 minutes to Punta Mita for very good and very affordable authentic Mexican and/or seafood or back into PV for shopping, etc.

But having the Beach Club on site with a very good (reasonably priced) but limited menu worked very well for us. Between our fully stocked kitchen, breakfast made every morning by our "chef" or simply lunch or dinner, we did not have to venture out of the gated and very secured complex.

All in all, a great experience. INSPIRATO (Richard) was outstanding as usual. The staff (Reyes, Jimmy) was very, very friendly and accommodating. We will absolutely do this again.

We stayed 4 nights over Christmas. We stayed in the Penthouse suites owed by Inspirato. 5 bedrooms, 4 bath, and a plunge pool attached to the suite. Super high ceiling, high quality kitchen, and very well decorated. We had a group of 3 families (6 adults, 6 children) and had a fabulous time. We would recommend Los Veneros strongly.

The service is exceptional, but it is recommended to hire a cook for meals since there are limited options on the resort itself. While it is nice to venture out to Punta Mita town, I think it's better to stay in the resort and order everything in. The sunsets are gorgeous and the rooms are literally steps away from the beach.

We loved our stay!
