If you are in the 50's plus age bracket, and want to enjoy the good ole rock'n'roll that you grew up to love - and still do, then this is the place to come on Monday nights. Of course, if you are younger and just have fine taste in music, then you should come too! We have been enjoying the music at Ana Bananas for years now...and hopefully will continue to do so. What could be better than sitting under the stars listening to great music...having a drink....dancing if the music moves you???
Come early enough -dinner on Monday nights is meat loaf with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Music starts by 7:00ish, and goes until about 10:00 - depending on the crowd.
We have also gone on Friday evenings for a different sound - 2 great guitar players that really know their stuff. Friday menu is fish and chips...but a little pricey at around 100 pesos for what you get. Must say that as good as these guys were, we do prefer the Pacific Rock Company that plays on Mondays.
This is a simple place with plastic tables and chairs....dogs roaming from table to table looking for scraps... graffiti on the 'wall of fame', etc. But this is part of the charm! The regulars love it here, and everyone seems to know everyone. The owner is from Peterborough, Ontario, and does a good job at welcoming you. We are looking forward to going back when we vacation in Mexico again next year!
