Just back from a great week at the Queen of Montenegro. Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean with great food and lots of variety. The staff were all polite and helpful and the nearby village has some good bars and restaurants. The hotel is very modern with all the things you need. One minor negative point, the pool area is not very big and gets busy during the high season. Typically residents place their towels on loungers early in the morning to secure the best places. Consequently the area is full by 9am. The next option is the hotel’s beach which has lots of space and is clean and well serviced. The hotel charges 10 euros for 2 sun loungers and an umbrella. Not too bad compared to some places (visit Sveti Stefan) but as this is sometimes your only option the hotel should maybe reconsider charging residents for beach loungers.

The hotel beach bar is very reasonably priced for food and drink and Montenegro in general is very affordable to eat and drink out. Go there before the prices rise! Becici/Budva is not what we expected from Montenegro and is more like the beach front at Torromolinos but if you're willing to explore then you will see some beautiful places. The Mediterranean Express bus is great and costs 1.50 Euro to Sveti Stefan or Kotor. I would definitely recommend Kotor and Perast, both very beautiful and more of what we expected Montenegro to look like. I would recommend the Queen of Montenegro as a base for exploring Montenegro but it is also very relaxing and a great hotel in its own right. One tip, do not worry about needing to pay extra for a sea view. The balconies are very small and although the view is lovely the garden/mountain view out the back of the hotel is just as good. A lovely holiday and would definitely recommend a visit to this hotel and the country of Montenegro.

Room Tip: do not worry about needing to pay extra for a sea view. The balconies are very small and although t...

My husband and I spent 2 great weeks at the Q of M returning home 07 July. We had paid extra for a sea view room and it was worth every penny to be able to wake up and look out over the beautiful bay. We also liked the little touch of the stars on the bedroom ceiling, never encountered this before in a hotel. The rooms were very clean and well looked after as was the whole hotel. The staff were very efficient and we were particularly impressed my the restaurant manager who mucked in clearing and laying tables rather than just standing around delegating. The food was varied enough for us with quite a good selection of good food. In the restaurant look out for Marina who always had a smile for us. The hotel is well positioned between Budva and Sveti Stefan which both can be reached by the Mediteran bus that runs along the main road between the 2. The bus costs 1.5 euro each wherever you go along the route but sometimes the local taxis will take you for the same price, but beware that coming back from Budva in a taxi will cost you 7 euro. Sveti Stefan is worth going to see however you cannot actually go over to the island as it is a private hotel. Both Kotor and Lake Skadar are good places to visit and we would have gone out and about more if it had not been nearly 40 degrees the second week, too hot for walking around in. The pool area is not large and there are more deck chairs than sun beds so if you want a sun bed you need to get out there early. The beach is fine shingle and quite rough under foot so make sure that you have either reef shoes or flip flops to wear to get down to the water. As stated in other reviews there is a charge for using the beach but this seems to be common practice on the beaches in Montenegro. All in all an excellent holiday and we would not hesitate to recommend both the Hotel and the country but would say go sooner rather than later before if gets too touristy. Last bit of advise is to go in September as the sea is warmer and the temperatures are still good but not so humid that you can't do anything (tip from rep).

Room Tip: Worth paying for a sea view.

My partner and I recently spent two weeks at this hotel and we were not disappointed. The hotel was modern clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel location is great, being 3 minutes walk to the beach and the hotel chairs and cafe. It's also well-placed to do some good walking, for example, it is mid-way between, Sveti Stephen and Budva, both taking about an hour, maybe a little longer if you want to stop at the cafes along the beaches. There was a good choice of food and it was very tasty.
Montenegro is a beautiful country, with some stunning landscape. Kotor is well worth a visit and the inland countryside is beautiful.
We hired a car for a week which was great because we could get to see many places off the beaten track, but a word of warning. Some of the drivers are extremely dangerous! It wasn't just madness when you saw people over-taking on blind bends, it was sheer stupiditiy. We managed to get back in one piece and it was still worth the stress to see such a lovely country. It's still a country coming into full tourism and it hasn't always got the sofistication of neighbouring Croatia, but it's still worth a visit.

Came back from the Q of M on Thursday, having spent a lovely 11 nights there. What can I say? It was a wonderful holiday. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the service was excellent. We went on a bed and breakfast stay and you certainly could not complain about the food. We ate out most nights as there are lots of restaurants along the beach front. The weather was very hot it got into the forties on a couple of days!!One piece of advice I can give is try to avoid booking your holiday during July and August as the place is absolutely overrun with Russians and Ukrainians-that is when they all have their holidays and they can be exceptionally rude and ill mannered!! As for the room it was spot on-really comfortable beds great shower there was a basket of fruit and a bottle of wine in the room when we arrived. We had a room at the side of the hotel it gave us a side sea view and was really quiet. As for trips you really have to see Tara Bridge and the 25 hairpin bends on the mountain that you have to drive round to get there. Would we go back? DEFINITELY

I just came back from QoM. It was a plesant experience. The rooms are spotless clean and the room maidens perform the cleaning everyday. The sheets were changed only once (in a 7N stay) and the towels were changed everyday (if you decided to leave them on the bathroom florr, as adviced). I enjoyed the food, they served mediteraneeam kitchen, tradintional montenegrin dishes, pasta, etc, overall enough varied and satisfactory. In the evening the drinkings weren't includeed, you had to pay for whay you decided to drink.

The access to the beach was quite facile, there is a bridge over the mainroad (so it is safe for children) and some stairs (about 80 :-) ). This acces path is dedicated only for hotel guests and it takes you right at the hotel's private beach. In fact, this privacy is a tax: 10E for hotel guests +2E (if you want towels too, but they don't force you to take them). The 10E are payed at the reception and they give you a voucher to acces the 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella on the private beach. The beach is clean, there are well working showes. The sea water was not so nice, but this is not the hotes's fault and also not so "transparent tourquoise". There are some tree's leafes and fruits wich fall into the water from the vegetation from the bay's sides.

On the balcony you do not have privacy, it's separated by the side ones by glasses and the floor is made of wood, so you can see the neighbours from upper and lower level. But it is nice architecture. Also the furniture on the balcony could be higher quality.

The pool - very clean, I founded it quite small and prefered the beach.

There were 3 facts that annoyed me and i find them a little incompatible with a 4* hotel:

- in the morning there was a lot of noise made by the cleaning ladies. I stayed in 414, in front of me was the Cleaning Stuff's door of the floor. From 7AM to 9 AM that door was slamed and woke me uo several times.
- the Clima: I don't know if only for our room, or it is a general problem, but even if I turned mine off, the Clima conduct made a very unpleasant noise, so it was quite difficult to fall asleep. All night long you could hear the noise from the clima instalaton if there were others using it.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms in front of the Cleaning Stuff door. I recommend sea view the panoramic view...
