“OUR THANKS FOR A WONDERFULL HOLIDAY”
Reviewed 29 September 2011

Dear Sir,
We returned home on Sunday, after a three week holiday in this hotel.
We found this hotel excellant in every respect.
All the staff were brilliant, the man in black (Head Chef) did a brilliant job in his selection of menus over a three week period.
Our SAGA rep was allways on hand if needed, and had a pleasant personality.
As a retired Manager in a Four Star hotel,i apreciate the effort put in by all
staff ,including the entertainment team.
Your efforts have left us with many happy memories.
Christine & Graham.

Room Tip: High floor rooms in PINK block are excellant

Not much to write here, other than we visited in Aug 2011 for a week, looking for a relaxing break and we got it. I was travelling with my female best friend and initially they gave us a double room but after talking with reception they quickly changed it to a twin room so no hasstle there.
The hotel is very busy in August as we expected. The main clientle are Russian so if you like an english tea take a few bags with you else you drink the russian tea bags which are a little strong but ok.
The restaurant in the new terrace block on the 3rd floor is the one to use and it looks over the pools and generally has a more airy feel to it.

The animation team work their socks off and are very pleasent. The beach is a small section and slightly too crowded for me. The sunbeds and umbrellas are very good albeit it you have to try get up about 6.45-7am to reserve them.

Rooms well maintained and very clean, safe deposit boxes are free with no deposit to pay to use them. Overall a very pleasent stay, The old town is a nice place to walk around being a cheap and short trip by taxi.
If you can take the trip around montenegro that takes in kotor etc lovely day. Remember although you land in croatia you are travelling to montenegro. Our travel agents sold us the wrong currency as montenegro is euro not croatian kuna. We did sort this at a bank and with the travel agent on return.
One disappointment was the all inclusive alcohol which consisted of vodka, beer or wine only.
All in all a comfortable hotel good food, great staff and another good in the iberostar portfolio.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with friends. The facilities are very good specially for families with a nice pool and activities for children. The service in this hotel was very bad way bellow the Iberstar standards. They held all our 7 passengers for 2 days on a very burocratic system until we could settled the extra cost for a triple room requested weeks in advance and overcharged on spot. The airconditioning in the room didn't work properly in two of the three rooms we rented.

We had a fabulous time. Hotel was always being cleaned and it showed. We found all the staff very friendly. The food was good there was always something you could find to eat. Usually 3 or 4 kinds of meat and 2 types of fish. The animation team consisting of 5 girls and 5 boys were amazing, they worked so hard. The evening entertainment was good there was a girl with a very nice voice some nights and a guy playing the guitar on the others and he was quite good as well. The animation team used to get people up dancing, it was a nice way to spend the evening. The only problem was trying to get a sun bed in 2 weeks we never got a bed by the pool and one day we could'nt get a bed anywhere on the hotel grounds. There are beds on the private beach but these are 2 euros per bed per day and 2 euros for an umbrella, not a great deal of money but it would add up if you had to do that everyday for 2 weeks. There weren't many English at the hotel but we never felt isolated. We found everyone we came into contact with very friendly. We Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. We would love to go back. Montenagro is beautiful. Don't be put off by the journey from the airport it's not that bad. Quite a nice ride on a small ferry lasts about 15 minutes. Passing through the border was not problem and only took about 15 minutes. Remember to take your passport onto the coach unlike us.

We stayed here as a family from 24th July for 1 week. First impressions of the hotel were not as impressive as the photos on their website. We were staying in the Pool block, which had a small reception area, not as impressive as the Terrace block's reception, which is what's shown on the website.

Our greeting wasn't friendly, we were not greeted with a smile or a welcome and when we handed our booking details to the receptionist, she quite coldly stated that they weren't the right details, (although she hadn't looked at them) then sheepishly accepted them after my husband showed her in the booklet. We were not told about needing towel cards, which you pay 10 Euros (refundable) per card. My husband saw other people being told (in another language) and shown towels and cards, which you'd think would be courteous, to everyone, as standard.

Our room was very clean, we would've preferred stone flooring rather than dated orange carpet. Our room number was 3337, the view from the balcony, in front of you was of balconies of another hotel. To the left were mountains. We never had a problem with noise, even though we were staying above the entrance to the hotel. There were rooms with better views, of the gardens, pool and sea and with individual private balconies, rather than balconies in a row, like ours.

The maid cleaned and vacuumed the room every day, we left the used towels in the bath every other day, to get them changed. The sheets were changed every day.

We found the food very enjoyable. It was always fresh and replaced when it was running out. The pizzas in the terrace snack bar were delicious! Only negative would be the lack of selection for the omelettes at breakfast. There was only ham, cheese and herbs available. It would've been nice to perhaps have tomatoes, onions and mushrooms on offer, too. In our main restaurant we were welcomed every time by a greeter at the entrance. The table staff never acknowledged my or my children's "thank you" when they were cleaning away our plates. They only occasionally acknowledged my husband.

The hotel grounds were immaculate. There were always gardeners tending the grounds. If you want a lounger by the pool, you need to place a towel on one before 8 am. Even then there are very few left. People must've got up really early to do this and quite a few had towels on with people not even appearing until the end of the day!

We spent a lot of time at the beach as it was less busy than the pool. That may be because the loungers and parasols at the beach cost 2 Euros each. The sea was wonderful, clear and refreshing, but not cold. Very salty too. We went on a pedalo boat trip, which cost only 8 Euros for an hour, well worth the money.

We walked to Budva a few times, which was very pleasant. The Old Town was beautiful, seeped in culture, with lovely cobbled streets. There's a funfair in Budva, which we went to at night, the children loved it. We also walked along the beach to Becici a few times. Quite lively at night with bars, restaurants and shops lining the path. We always felt very safe when we were out. We visited a beautiful little church at night. The entrance to it is through an arch, which is lit up, very pretty, with the church at the top of some steps. There was a service being held, too, with lovely singing.

We didn't frequent the entertainment at our hotel, mainly because what we heard wasn't in English, so we couldn't understand what was going on anyway. There'd be a few English words thrown in, such as "okay, here we go", etc. My 5 year old daughter was desperate to join in with the dancing, being organised by the kids entertainer, but was ignored when she went over there. We never saw any other English families during our stay, so I guess the entertainment isn't geared towards English people. My children enjoyed playing at the kids park though.

Although we were staying on an all inclusive basis, we were not allowed to take drinks to our room. If you did, you'd be charged for them! When we went to the bar to get a drink, we were told by the barman not to take our drinks to our room! Again, never greeted with a smile and made to feel that we were causing an inconvenience by being there. Everybody else seemed to be taking drinks to their room! There was never anywhere available to sit at night either, just the seating area outside on the terrace, which didn't seem big enough for the amount of people. Inside was crammed. There was a small paying bar, with only 4 tables and a couple of sofas and chairs the other end. It would've been nice to be able to take a coffee to the room and sit outside on the balcony, as there was clearly no room to sit inside.

One thing that really annoyed me and really topped off the lack of hospitality we felt during our stay, was at breakfast the day before we left. My 23 month old Son dropped a bowl on the floor, which smashed. This man, ( I think he may have been head waitor) named Branka or Branko, came over and was so rude! He started gesturing with both hands, arms raised, towards my Son, towards us, then at the smashed bowl, while muttering in his own language! He was clearly very annoyed at this accident! We would've expected him to say never mind. His reaction was totally unnecessary. It did not make us, as paying guests feel very welcome at all! He was very efficient at getting a cleaner to sweep it up though. Perhaps he would benefit going on a customer service course, as would some of the reception and bar staff.

The day we were leaving, we were being collected at 6:20am. The man behind the desk looked like he'd just jumped out of bed, he was tucking his creased shirt in as he was checking us out, no tie or name badge and not very polite.
Outside, waiting for the coach, there were 7 older English couples, we heard comments about how rude the staff at the hotel were.

The transfer to the airport took 3 1/2 hours. We were waiting at border control for an hour, while the Croatian police got on the coach to check our passports against us. On the outward transfer, we were hardly kept waiting, as our passports were just collected by the rep and given in for stamping. The rep on the inbound journey was very informative, offering lots of interesting information about the surrounding area and history, unlike the rep during the outward transfer.

On the whole we had a great holiday, beautiful scenery, great food, loved the sea, very clean and well kept hotel and grounds. Shame the staff were not more friendly and polite. Based on that, we won't be rushing back there.

we were a family of four that travelled, our youngest 6 months and our oldest 8 years. The room was surprisingly spacious, had just ordered a standard double room but was given a large family room. The cleaning was exemplary. The food was very very good. We eat most of our meals at the restaurant Grand. The animation team had lots of activities bot for the children and the adults. In daytime they had a great miniclub for children and at night a special mini disco, and our 8 year old loved the hotell. Both my 8 year old and my husband had their birthday down there and recieved specially baked cake, champagne, singing and ballons complimentary of the hotell. The service of the staff was extraordinary. Would love to go back!!
