Recently returned from the Iberostar Bellvue Hotel. We flew to Dubrovnik and travelled by coach through 2 border controls and a ferry crossing to the hotel - journey took about 3 hours. We stayed in block A and have to say the sea views were splendid. We were on the 5th floor, the room itself was a good size but the standard of cleaning was poor. The hotel is located at the opposite end of the bay from Becci town and the promenade from the hotel to Becci town is a bit of a building site. The food in the main restaurant was okay, not much variety and look warm. The snacks during the day in the pizzeria were of better quality. Most of the staff were friendly - with a few exceptions at block A reception and pool bar areas. Animation team were friendly and do their best to keep you entertained. Overall I would not rate this hotel 4 star more like a 3. Although we liked Montenegro, we would not return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room on high floors for the views over the bay

A friend and I travelled to Becici on 4/05/2014 and stayed at the Iberostar Belleview Hotel. We flew to Dubrovnik and travelled by coach over the border. We did have quite a wait at the border and it was pouring. Apparently it had rained non stop for 21 days so we were a bit apprehensive. We arrived at he hotel in good time for evening meal. The hotel consists of 3 blocks with separate receptions. We were in block B and we had quite a walk to our restaurants or bars through beautiful grounds and past several swimming pools . The next morning it was red hot and stayed like that for the week. However the evenings were very chilly and as the entertainment was out side we really needed a coat.
The rooms and hotel were spotless and the staff were wonderful. The food was excellent with plenty of choice. There were several bars and my only complaint was that there was no rose wine and no diet coke. However the choice of cocktails made up for that.
Because of the bad weather the resort simply was not ready. The beaches were cleaned while we were there and beds placed on the sand. Sand was waiting to be dumped on the pebbles and kiosks were being built. We were shocked to find that we were asked to pay for a bed on the hotels private beach. The pools and sea were very cold but we did venture in several times. The beaches are pebbly so you need your water shoes.
Trips weren’t organised yet by the travel agents so we arranged our own.
1 There is a nice walk into Budva via the tunnel near the hotel entrance. A visit to the old town is a must. An hours boat trip shows you all the area and islands and only cost 5 euros.
2 A walk in the other direction takes you to Sveti Stefan Island – apparently where all the millionaires go. Its quite a long walk through a tunnel and around coves but there are frequent buses there. We passed many private coves and beaches where it costs £30 to swim.
3 A tip to the old town of Kotor. We got a bus to Budva and a bus to Kotor.. we actually climbed to the top of the mountain up about 1500 steps. You don’t notice it because you are looking at the view all the time. Coming down was harder as the steps were quite high. We are pensioners and managed ok and the views are wonderful.
4 We wanted to visit Skadarsko Jezoro national park. We got a bus to Cetinje east of Skadar Lake and a lovely taxi driver took us on a tour of the sites on the lake even stopping for a lunch break and photo stops. It’s a pity we couldn’t communicate.
5 We really wanted a boat trip on the lake so the next day we got a bus to Bar and then another to Virpazar. There was a party of law students there at the time so we joined them on a 2 hour boat trip round the lake listening to and watching the wildlife. We waited for a bus back but a kind Montenegran gave us a lift over the mountains back to the coast. From here we got the local bus back to Becici.
We had a wonderful time – you wont see scenery any better anywhere.

The friendly and helpfull staff are this hotels greatest asset . The hotel location is dreadfull . The prommenade in front of the hotel ,in both directions, is a mix of a building sight and a rubbish tip .and used by motor bikes , cars and lories .
The food is as bland and repetetive as you can get

Was dubious about going to this hotel after reading so many poor reviews but it turned out to be a delightful hotel experience. The staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful, most speaking English. On arrival there were drinks and nibbles waiting for us in reception. Our room on the 3rd floor of Terrasse building had a sea view (at no extra cost) and it appeared to have been refurbished recently. Bathroom was excellent with double shower and large marble counter top for toiletries - always plenty of hot water and clean towels too. There was a very good choice of food in the main restaurant - it was quite busy at times but we chose to go later for our dinner as the families with children had already gone by then. There was also a pizzeria/snack bar for lunch which we found perfect if we did not want a full meal. The animation team worked extremely hard to entertain and although (being of a slightly older generation) we did not participate, they would frequently have a chat with us anyway. The night time shows were well attended and enjoyed. I would imagine that the hotel might be very crowded in high season but our own experience at this time of year was thoroughly enjoyable and we would like to congratulate all the staff there for making it so.

Our family enjoyed a pleasant stay here. I recommend it. Staff was very friendly.
Food could be better but there was many different foods to choose from. Pool area was good and hotel is very close to beach. Overall easy place to go with kids.

I returned to Becici for a relaxing and culture break. I was given a room in the Park View block, very nice gardens and close to breakfast and entertainment area.
The beach was quiet due to weather but the 'Animation' team gathered us for games in the Morning...good innocent fun!
Half board OK, will do full board next time. Hotel had an internal makeover since last year, staff answered all travel questions and translation to my driver for excursions etc.
I would reccomend this facility to anyone, solo or couple. Met great characters.

Room Tip: Stayed at Grand and this time at Park, silent.

We have just had a lovely stay at Budva/Becici in Montenegro. The weather during our stay was very disappointing but no one has control over that, do they? We still had a good time because the Bellevue was great. It's in a great position between Becici and Budva so a stroll either way was easy. Some of the surrounding areas were a little scruffy when we arrived but we noted during our week's stay that everything was being made ready for the up coming season, with the beaches and beachside restaurants being tidied, cleaned and re-painted in readiness. The staff in the hotel could not do enough to help us and always with a smile. Our shower went cold one morning so we reported it at the desk as we went out for our morning stroll along the promenade to beautiful Budva-old-town and on our return everything was sorted out and our shower lovely and hot again...no fuss... just good service! We have read some of the derogatory remarks made on this web site and shake our heads in amazement. What do some people expect? The meals are of buffet style so there are no "waiters" just attendants who cleared the mess that we holiday-makers make, usually with a smile and a sense of humour. As for how long it took to get through the border controls...that has nothing to do with this hotel. As for the language barrier.....we did not find one. The staff were very fluent in many languages...much better than most Brits. The entertainment team did their best to amuse us and although they probably wouldn't make a west end show they did provide watchable evenings. Our room was a good size and our beds made promptly every morning and bathroom tidied. Good selection of food available for most of the day and lots of choice of drinks available. We noted also that cleaning went on constantly so that the hotel blocks and gardens were always presentable. A wonderful team! We had food cooked for us, washing up done, beds made and cleaning done.......what more could you ask for? Maybe a bit more sunshine but who can predict that after the winter we have just had? Well done Bellevue, Keep up the good work. We had a lovely holiday. Thank You all.
