“Very nice and pleasant stay”
Reviewed 17 June 2009

I have just returned from the 7 days stay in this hotel. My husband and me were looking for an all inclusive 4 star hotel on the beach, with nice garden and shade. We have two small kids and we wanted them to stay outside as long as possible but not all the time on the sun. Hotel has three blocks, A, B and C. We stayed at block C on the third floor. Room and the bathroom with tub was very spacious, with two balconies. Very clean. The only thing we missed in the room, since it was all inclusive package, was fridge. We asked for it at the reception and even wanted to pay for it, but we couldn't get it. We were explained that some rooms have it, some don't. Also, there was no light at the balconies, but we didn't need it, because we didn't stay at the balcony during the night.
Hotel itself is located very close to the beach, in the beautiful and very well maintained spacious garden. There is one main pool, one children pool and one for the babies which is beneath palm trees and is in the shade almost all the day which was great. Sun beds and sun umbrellas at the pools are free of charge. Beach is nice, shingle, after 5 pm in shade. We were charged 6 Eur for 2 Sunbeds and 1 umbrella, which we didn't like since we paid for all inclusive service. Food was good, not great but not bad, drinks were poor but we didn't care much about it. Snack bar in the block A was good, providing different choices, we especially liked pizzas. Staff was very friendly and helping. Animation team is working all the day (aerobics, water polo, mini club, evening entertainment), but we didn't took part in their games so I cannot say if they were good.
Hotel guest are mostly Russians and Ukrainians, with some French and Germans.
All at all, we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and had a very nice stay.

I stayed at the Iberostar Bellevue with my husband and two young children aged 3 and 1. Having read some of the previous reviews on this website I must admit I had a few concerns before we arrived. I think this hotel must have improved significantly since some of the previous reviews were written. We travelled in May and it was over thirty degrees but the air conditioning in the rooms was working even though it was out of season. The rooms were very spacious (and we had a double a single and a travel cot in ours) and extremely clean. In fact the hotel overall was spotless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The poolside entertainment was not our cup of tea but the staff were not pushy if you didn't want to be involved. The mini club staff for the children were really friendly and the mini disco in the evening was the highlight of the holiday for my children. The food was good and there was enough choice. I would agree with other comments that it might not be four star but there was nothing bad about it. Budva and Sveti Stefan (both a very short taxi ride away) were lovely. We would love to go back to Montenegro and if we did would consider returning to this hotel. The only negative with the hotel I could see was if the weather wasn't great there wouldn't be many places to sit inside in the evenings.

If the hotel is going to be billed as 4 star it should change a few things; e.g. air conditioning should be on as required, not just in July and August., if it is 33 deg C in September, you need it at night. Food should be served hot, not lukewarm or cold. Coffee should be made fresh at breakfast. Hot water should be available to the bedroom showers ALL day and night not just a few hours a day. Staff should be civil to guests. Management should not decide to clear all deckchairs from bedroom balconies just because the high season is over - if the temperature is still pleasant holiday makers want to use them. Snack bars should not have their hours restricted without warning etc. etc.
This could be a really nice hotel; the views are stunning and the rooms are very good, and kept very clean. It really needs a change in attitude which must come from management down.
It is a pity because Budva is a beautiful town and the hotel has the advantage of being within walking distance.

overall the hotel was good and we had a pleasant stay.

Good points:
Efficient staff
Nice, clean rooms
Good food and drinks (all inclusive)
Budva is delightful and within walking distance
Another nice nearby town is Sveti Stefan(quick bus ride)
Some great scenery using hire car.
People moaned about most guests being Russian but we found them Ok

Bad points:
A lot of blocks cramned onto the site
Getting a sun lounge requires extreme dedication and possibly murder!
The bars on the way to Budva are noisy and tacky.
The pool area turns into a naff euro disco with a series of inevitably irritating games!
The transfer to Dubrovnik airport is over 2 hours, but can be very scenic.
Beware car hire(speed traps, suicidal driving and dodgy car hire companies that may rip you off, Tip. Take photos of any existing damage when the car is delivered!)

Stayed at this hotel with my wife for a week in August and was very impressed by this hotel.
On arrival, we were sent to Block B to check in. We were greeted warmly and found check in staff to be friendly. Dalibar in reception was a name that stood out as someone who was helpful.
The rooms were quite large and as we had taken the option of paying for a balcony and sea view, the view was amazing. The grounds of this hotel are quite large and 2 main pools have pleenty of space.
Being high season, there were a lot of people around and we needed to be up before 9am to get a sunbed with the usual characters who put a towel down and head off for the day. In fairness to the hotel, this is a problem in lots of hotels.
If you have the option of booking all inclusive here, it is worth doing. The quality of the food is very good considering the volume of people but this also means that dinner can be like feeding time at the zoo. I would recommend going to the restaurant on the 3rd floor of block A (near the pools) and turn right when you come out of the lift (this section is quieter). Drinks are all inclusive from 10am-11pm and some effort is made for entertainment in the pool bar. The Hotel Montenegro next door has a nice bar also and worth a visit for a drink and a live singer.
The standard of cleanliness is very high in the rooms and on the resort. We saw people scrubbing pavements and landscapes working on the gardens every day. The maid service was very efficient with the room fully serviced every day.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for one week with Saga. Lovely room in our restored part of the hotel, but the lovely gardens and pool area were absolutely crammed with people and young children and not big enough for the three large blocks it served. Entertainment was loud and constant and annoying. All in all it seemed very like one of the Costas as they developed in the 70s and 80s - cheap and cheerful for a family holiday. Not for the faint hearted older persons wanting a bit if peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings (as we expected).
