“Crowded and dirty during Holy Week”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2013 via mobile

Made the mistake of going to Poctoy for Holy Week. Very crowded and beach was dirty. Sand is not white but light brown similar to Puerto Galera. This is a public beach and not well maintained. Water is turquoise green but not clear. Lots of litter floating on the water. Could've been a nice beach with Mt Malindig in the background making for awesome pictures. Having said that, this review is based on our experience for this year's Holy Week. Submitting this review after spending 4 hours in Poctoy today

“Beautiful white beach with Mt Malindig in the background”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2013

We've been to so many beach resorts worldwide, from Hawaii, to the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Punta Cana, Virgin Islands, etc. but the beauty and cleanliness of this municipality-owned beach is beyond compare. It is Marinduque's best kept secret for a long time. We only stayed for the day, but I know there are several cottages nearby where you can stay overnight for less than $30/night. Very picturesque!

“Beach bumming galore!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2012

Unlike the other hidden gems of Marinduque, Poctoy White Beach is fairly accessible (you can ride a jeepney or rent a tricylce). The entrance fee is also minimal (forgot the exact amount, though). Basic amenities. What I loved most about this beach is the view, you have the majestic view of Mt. Malindig at the backdrop. Avoid going there during Lenten season, it could get really crowded. Nevertheless, you will still enjoy the clear waters and the powdery beige sands of the beach.

“AWESOME beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2012

i think this is the only white beach in marinduque, but its beauty is one of a kind. you have the white beach at your feet, the beautiful sea at your front (you can sea fishes in it because of the sea grass) and the mt malindig at your right, what more can you ask for. the entrance is also cheap its less than a dollar and also the cottage rental is also cheap. during holyweek season, the morion also roam around the resort and you could take pictures with them. you could stay all day just swmming on the beach and enjoying the view.

“not for foreigners”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

i also visited white beach there is very little there and to compare it to boracay is madness there are a few areas where philipinos will sit around a table in their usual way and bring their own food and use a kareoke machine and there are a few stalls selling bits and pieces [sari sari store]
there is little in white beach and that applies to much of marinduque. even the tricycles stop after dark
