I don't do B&Bs. So when my friend announced that he had booked us into his local B&B so that we could attend his wedding my wife and I were a little concerned. We needn't have been.
We arrived in the early evening and were met by Rona. Rona and her husband Phil are the proprietors. If you could bottle Rona's personality and exhuberance you'd make a fortune and we were to discover that Phil does a breakfast to 'die for'.
We were given a ground floor room. It was roomy had an en-suite bath/shower and toilet and the usual assortment of goodies (Tea, coffee, lots of biscuits and Hot Chocolate). Freeview TV and a very unusual ceiling that I hope they retain when they next decorate.
The welcome was warm and genuine and between them Rona and Phil are a font of local knowledge.
The breakfast was excellent. A comprehensive 'Continental' selection and a choice from the breakfast menu. The Welsh breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented and will set you up for the day. I had the smoke Haddock and poached egg, which was delicious. Sadly we weren't there long enough to try anything else.
We will be going back to Borth to see our (Now married) friends. And we will definitely stay in York House.More
