“A gem of a little museum”

Borth Station Museum
Ranked #3 of 8 things to do in Borth

Borth Station, which had fallen into disrepair, has been restored by volunteers. The museum, based in the old ticket hall, had a fascinating collection of local railway memorabilia, bringing the station to life. There was also an audio-visual showing of the history of the area, which, unlike many, was actually very interesting and informative. Well worth a visit.

You must visit this little gem of a museum. They were so kind, informative and didn't mind at all that my son wanted to play with everything on display!
For those who watched the brilliant, Hinterland, on BBC you should go and have a look at the documentation they have from the episode that featured the station. They were given the wonderful model that was used.
Do go and see for yourself and support this lovely little museum!

Borth railway museum is a must when visiting Borth. The mock up station-masters room looks great and there is a miniature railway which our children loved watching and pressing the noises of the train whistle and station bell. They have a lovely selection of children's books for 50p each too which is great. The people who run it are lovely too.
