“Very nice stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2013

John was very friendly and outgoing. The home is very, very nice. Excellent food (fish and chips are incredible) just across the street and a beautiful view from the parking area. John gave some excellent recommendations for touring the next day. It never did clear off for us to have the wonderful view from the pass; but the rest of the Dingle Peninsula was very nice. This was the one place I really wanted to visit during our trip and it did not disappoint. Camp Junction was the first B & B that I booked and I am very happy that I did. We had a group of 7 and all were very happy with our stay here.

We arrived late in the day to be met by John Doyle with a happy friendly welcome and the offer of refreshments. John's modern B & B (some long stay apartments which he showed us look fab) was clean, fresh, tastefully appointed with views to die for. Literally across the road from two pubs, we ate and one which was very good and reasonably priced, drank Guinness at another whilst listening to live Irish music. Great beds and pillows and no outside traffic noise. The breakfast next morning gave us a traditional mix of full Irish and also the added addition of smoked salmon with eggs done any way you like them. Freshly brewed coffee and all served with a story and a smile. Great directions as we left to see us on our way and a promise that we would return one day soon... fabulous B & B and can't say enough.

Room Tip: We had the room at the very end of the corridor facing the ocean...it was lovely.

On arriving at Camp Junction House we were welcomed by John Doyle the owner and host . He was a very warm and welcoming man who had tea and biscuits ready for us. He gave us a map of the local area and was ready with any queries we might have. The room was a good size and was very comfortable The bathroom was also a good size with an amazing power shower. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a lovely varied menu. John went to a lot of trouble for all his visitors and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. There are a few pubs in the area who do food so your evening meal was easily found. The Seven Hogs which is a couple of miles up the Road had a very nice menu and The Junction House bar across the Road from the B&B also had some very good meals available. But we did have the misfortune to have dinner in The Ashes bar which is in Camp Village. The food was cold and the service appalling. To be fair I do not t think it was the staff's fault as they all appeared to be quite young. There was no organisation at all as to when the food should be given out so it was left sitting. My Husband went to complain to the Manager and almost died when he saw bags of chips and other food stuff left lying on the floor open. His answer to this was that they use the stuff up quickly and what is left goes into the fridge at the end of the evening. He was very nasty about the fact my husband pointed out to him that this was a Health and Safety issue. At least 10 people complained about cold food while we were there. So I would not be recommending the Ashes for food. All in all we had a very good experience at Camp Junction House and we look forward to going back again next year to visit the places we never had time to see on this break.

We had been traveling from Dublin to Dingle it was getting late and we were tired and hungry. We were directed to junction house and were pleased when greeted by our host John. He was very pleasant the accommodations were nice. Everything was clean and the Irish breakfast was great.

We had hoped to stay in Dingle but the Dingle Marathon kept us from doing so but lucky for us it did. John was an exceptional host and very accommodating by allowing us to check in a bit earlier. He gave us some great day planning ideas, many of which we did. Time didn't allow us to complete them all. The rooms were smaller than expected but had everything we needed for a one night stay. It had some exceptional views of the water and the grounds were beautiful!

Stayed here one night (19.07.13 ) we wished we had stayed longer but we where already booked in Killarney. The house is in a great setting overlooking the bay with two great pubs just across the road which serve great food and drink. The house is clean and modern with great bedrooms and the breakfast was excellent but best of all was the host John who could not do any more you , evening offering to drop us off for our walk the next day.

John was an excellent host. Great location for traveling around Dingle. Beautiful view from the house. John makes an excellent breakfast with perfectly cooked eggs. Room was comfortable and clean. Enjoyed all of John's recommnedations from the pub across the street to the stops we made in the area.
