Great base for exploring the South west of Cornwall. Jump on the Bus to Falmouth (just 50m to the Bus stop) plenty to see and do in Falmouth. We also drove to Coverack, Lizard Point, Mullion Cove, and Porthleven the weather was very wet and windy but on our return to St Gluvias it was warm and cosy and truly homely. It was a really dull day, but the lounge is so bright as the natural daylight floods in through the massive windows that over look the courtyard garden.
The kitchen was FULLY fitted with everything and more that you would need for a long or short break. The lounge was impressive with its full height ceiling, and spiral staircase - great area to relax...especially with the hi-fi playing some of the fabulous artists in the CD collection. We didn't need to bring anything with us as the welcome pack was great, and the Spar shop is next to the bus stop too.
Although the bathroom was more than adequate with plenty of hot water, it is starting to look a little tired and I feel the accommodation would be excellent once this room gets a refit. Parking is easy with the Free car park at the rear.
The following days weather was so much better, so we included a visit to Porthtowan, St Agnes and Perranporth before heading home. I would truly recommend St Gluvias as the perfect base to explore by foot or by car, don't be put off by the bathroom it is more than adequate.
St Gluvias Street was a lovely place to stay. Simon really looked after us with a well stocked fridge, a bottle of prosecco and fresh flowers to greet us. Really great for exploring Falmouth and the surrounding area. We are hoping to return in Summer to enjoy this lovely location further.
The place was just what we wanted. Cosy but modern in a perfect location.
There were loads of extras such as fresh flowers ands cool gadgets that meant we felt spoilt all weekend; we particularly enjoyed the prosecco on our arrival.
Nemos fish and chips nearby was a great find.
We would absolutely stay again.
Booked for colleagues who were visiting for a week - they were very happy - slept well and were pleased with the very well equipped kitchen. Organisation with Simon very easy and nice communication as always!
Great location , plenty to do on your doorstep. Loads of great places to eat and drink locally. Photos and write up do not do this cottage justice!! Excellent break cant wait to go back. Super value for money. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
This is the most beautiful cottage I have ever had the pleasure of staying. The owners could not if made us any more welcome and provided for if they tried. The perfect stay would 100% recommend.
Great location in Penryn. Although the street is too narrow for cars there is a free car park a few hundred yards away which usually had a space available. House is clean with a modern kitchen and lots of quirky / high quality sculptures and pictures around - it really feels like a home. The metal spiral staircase is a fantastic feature and the bathroom shower is good. The bedroom is cosy and comfortable although the bed is very soft. Our teenager was on the sofabed which was quick to setup and comfortable. The property has very good WiFi and two televisions plus Sky. Simon made us very welcome by providing clear instructions and lots of food plus a bottle of champagne to get us started.
