Wandin Hunter Valley
Reviewed 7 July 2013

We had lunch again today at Wandin Valley. Brought additional visitors with us - we were 8 in all.

Absolutely fantastic pre-lunch service from Catherine, and the actual lunch of Divvy Dishes was enjoyed by all.

Amazing duck, salmon, wagu beef, gnocchi, and other plates were enjoyed by all. Washed down with the house moscato, everyone enjoyed it immensely and we loved the bill - amazingly affordable.

We cannot more highly recommend this site for any visitor to the Hunter Valledy

Stayed recently in Patrick's Cottage as a family group. Four separate suites each consisting of a roomy bedroom & smallish but totally adequate modern bathroom. Beds were so comfy & you could request them to be made up as either a king or 2 singles. The main living area is amazing, sliding doors out on to a covered verandah which when combined with the open plan kitchen/dining/lounge room made for a MASSIVE living area. We had regular visits from families of kangaroos who came so close to the verandah it seemed they were daring us to pat & cuddle them. Add to that the birdlife & many sightings of cute rabbit families very close to the cottage & you really are in the the Aussie bush.......all in the middle of a vineyard! We were surprised when the estate manager arrived with fresh milk, bread & juice & the supply of tea/coffee/jams/spreads/butter already in the cottage was welcome & not often seem in this type of accommodation. Cannot recommend Patrick's Cottage highly enough, don't give staying here a second thought........"just do it!"

The restaurant is ideal for a lite lunch while touring the vineyards - it does a tapa style menu which has generous portions and the staff are very friendly.

We stayed in the Piccolina Studio. It was very spacious and cute. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the bounty we purchased in Hunter Valley. There are other wineries nearby and dining options as well. The studio is away from the wine cellar, so we didn't have to worry about traffic from other travellers.
