This was our first abroad holiday with 3 kids age 6,6, and 4 and the grandparents to help! Some of the reviews I read were not great so I was apprehensive.

I needed not to be. The hotel is perfectly situated with beautiful sea views.
The rooms though basic were very clean and comfortable.

The food was excellent. Lots of choice. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. My dad who is Coeliac found plenty of gluten free food which was great and my 3 fussy eaters found plenty that they would eat too.

The staff were usually very friendly and helpful though the bar staff could be a little abrupt.

The pool areas are fairly clean. The main pool got a little busy and people did reserve sunbeds early which is selfish and annoying. Especially when they rocked up at 11am or later. The splash pool is great for the little kids and kept ours entertained for hours. Be careful of the slides on the play area adjacent to the splash pool they are very fast and on the first attempts our kids flew off the end! Possibly hazardous if climbing when wet but our kids also enjoyed this area very much.

The evening entertainment was not great and very repetitive but we did not mind to much as we had each other for company. The kids loved the Bingo but it was a bit slow! The adults only area was very pleasant and the bar was lovely in the evenings comfy sofas, beautiful views over the bay and chilled music.

The beach is very nice sandy, shallow and lots of fish that you can feed. The walk first left out of hotel is less than 5 minutes a little steep but not as bad as some say. The second left out of the hotel takes you down steps to the beach which is an easier walk but you have to walk past a sewage plant which is worryingly right at the back of the beach! It smells putrid. I would certainly not want to stay in the hotels adjacent to this!

All inclusive was definitely great for us. Overall a great family holiday. I would return to this hotel. It is 3 star and does what it says on the packet. If you want luxury then you need to pay for it.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back though they do not have a great view are quieter and you don't get the heat of...

Portinax is in a stunning location and the views from the hotel are good. It is a steep walk coming up from the beach but well worth it. Overall the hotel is a good all inclusive but does need to be refurbished. The staff are good and the hotel is very clean. They never complained about how many drinks per person were ordered (They have even done this on a Thomson cruise) and were happy and friendly towards the children. The food at meal times was good but the snacks could be improved. We were with our grandchildren who are very young. I don't think teenagers would be so happy as the entertainment was poor and suited young children the best. Overall we enjoyed our holiday and would go back with our grandchildren when the hotel is refurbished.

I went here recently and I was not impressed to be fair. Hotel was a little dated and when we checked in they got out rooms wrong.
Once in our rooms it was clean and tidy but comfortable.
I know it's August but it was full of screaming children. Could never get a sun bed beside pool as they where all reserved by eight o'clock in the morning. If you was disabled or elderly it was a hard walk to the beach it was a steep drop and coming back was hard work. On a positive note the receptionist at hotel where amazing polite and really did more then was expected so ten out of ten for them.
The food was very samey but cooked well and tasty and staff in restaurant where so fantastic.
I would give an over all of 5/10 but I wouldn't go back here as I felt it was quite out of the way.
The adult only area down the steps was my life saver as it was hot peaceful and no kids.

We travelled as a party of 10, 5 adults 5 children ages ranging from 8 to 15. The hotel itself was quite well presented, the staff seemed friendly enough making us feel welcome. We did feel a little upset that the holiday was sold to us as having a kids club style entertainment, however when we got there we were told that Thomson's nolonger did the entertainment and this was now managed by the hotel, resulting in 2 employees doing various activities with little communication as to when they are taking place. The evening entertainment consisted of said employees running bingo sessions 6 nights per week from 9 to 10, then below par acts 4 nights per week from 10 to 11 sho we had difficulty hearing the music unless we were sat right next to the stage. We asked for the speakers to be turned up a little, but we told they could not do this as residents outside of the complex had previously complained.

As for the resort of Portinatx, you have some very nice sights looking out to sea, but it doesn't offer a great deal by way of bars and restaurants, once you get to the beach there are plenty of watersport activities, such as pedlos, bananna boat (15euro per person), snorkelling etc. in my opinion, this resort is not suitable for pushchairs or people with walking difficulties as to get to the beach or bars and restaurants on the other side of the bay you have to go down a bank locally known as cardiac hill, and climb a second steep hill to get to the hotel where you are greeted with the option of climbing another 13-14 steps or use a lift to get into the groundfloor of the hotel.

Be warned tbat the last bus from Ibiza town to the resort is 19:30, and there are no minibusses available in the northern part of the island, our rep told us he had contacted 15 companies around the island to try and accommodate our needs, none were prepared to do this, it would result in 3 taxis being used for our party to get to and from Ibiza town.

Also note thzt the all inclusive ends at 23.00, there is a fridge available in the room but this is charged at 3 euros per day.

If you want a quiet holiday laying by the pool with little entertainment, then this is the place to go.

Been here a few days and we're having a pleasant stay but entertainment lets this place down. The two members which make up the "entertainment team" do their best but have limited resources. They only have 3 professional shows a week which are quite frankly dire! If you saw the "Tramps"
Show, you'll know what I mean! Hotel looks to be at full capacity and they should make sure their guests are entertained every night (the entertainment staff have a night off when there is literally nothing to do).

Hotel is very clean (albeit dated) and food is very good.

Resort is very quiet and extremely hilly, you'll find it difficult if you have walking difficulties or if you're overweight.

All in all, an ok holiday - nothing special but won't be returning because of the lack of entertainment.

Went with my 8 year old son for 3/4 days in May. Hotel is situated in a quiet part of Ibiza, in the beautiful resort of portinatx. Sea view was stunning, hotel is great for kids, nice little beach a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The receptionist couldn't be nicer, the bar staff were cool. We went half board. The food was good, upgraded to all inclusive for the last day so the kid could help himself to juice and ice cream. There's a coupla bars in the resort, but that's it. Which suited me as I wanted to chill. Good for families with kids

Just returned from a week at the Presidente - 2 adults 1 child.

Transfer from the airport took us around an hour wasn't too bad we had around 3/4 drop offs.

First impression of hotel wasn't great it's so dated and sweaty, upon check in we were greeted by a night porter he was fine and polite, he served his purpose. The family before us asked could they have a drink as they'd had a long day travelling and were told they could buy drinks from a vending machine in reception - all inclusive hey?! Not even some water.

Our room was floor 1 which was handy. The corridors are dated but very clean. We arrived at our room and opened the door to a strong, disgusting smell of stale cigarette smoke - it was vile. The room was so hot - no air con had been on, we put the lamp on and it fell off the wall!!! What had we done??? Spoke to night porter but his English was limited and nothing he could do until the morning. We decided to just sleep as it was now almost 4am and just sort everything out in the morning. Room had been well cleaned and beds comfortable and our fantastic housekeeper Elizabeth fixed the lamp and done her best with the smell the following day. Elizabeth is lovely and the nicest member of staff we encountered along with Alicia on reception. If you like to make friends with the staff on holiday you won't get that here. This isn't a problem for us as we like to keep ourselves to ourselves anyway.

Air con isn't great it's on a two hour timer and you have to press the button every two hours to keep it going, once it's been pressed you can't turn it off. It's slow to start but is effective after a while.

Met with Thomson Reps - very helpful and always present. Booked excursions through thomson, there are cheaper alternatives around the resort/Ibiza if you want to shop around.

Food - food is plentiful, it's by no means good food or anything special but there is always an abundance and you can always manage to make up a meal. Great selection at breakfast of continental, healthy options, toast and eggs and bacon. Lunch and dinner there is always at least one meat and one fish dish, potato dishes, vegetables, rices, pasta and salads. Deserts are always available with fresh fruit and ice creams. You won't go hungry. There is however a lot of reusing of the left overs here. I know this is common for an all inclusive but the answer here is to simply deep fry everything. We even saw deep fried pizza one day!! - there is a small childrens buffet accessible to children with a small range of dishes some different to the adults selection however don't leave children here unaccompanied a few children were burnt from the hot dishes here. Drinks are help yourself and a good variety. Restaurant workers are miserable and ready to take your plate as soon as you put your fork down!! It's a bit much sometimes!! Restaurant is clean, well set out and not too busy.

Pool bar is small. Soft drinks and some alcohol available on a help yourself basis everything else is waiter service. Big fridge with Walls ice cream and mini milks available in the all inclusive which is great for kids. Snacks are simply cheese and ham sandwiches in cellophane but our daughter was always happy with one!

Main pool area is nice and clean but seems too small and cramped for the amount of guests especially if an activity is going on. It was a bit too mad for our 6 year old.

Baby pool available. It is small and very much a baby pool but ideal for babies upto 3/4 who want a quiet paddle.

Splash pool is absolutely fantastic, it made our daughters holiday. Shallow waters, slides and a park area. She loved it. It was shaded and never became too busy. Great for the younger children!

There is what seems to be the old kids club and that is always left open, it has soft play facilities, cots, baby changing and some toys and playhouses in a shaded area. People utilised this during hotter hours. Sometimes a couple of members of holiday staff done some football and the pitches around the back, archery or arts and crafts. There is a doctor on site and a small shop.

Evening entertainment we passed through a couple of times. I didn't want to believe previous reviews but it is terrible. It's just two hotel workers - the same two who do the daytime entertainment trying their best to put something on for the guests. I felt sorry for them but they do their best.

We paid through thomson for a late 6.30pm checkout and upon checking with reception they very kindly told us we could have it until 9. Which was a god send on a night flight with a little one!! However... Our housekeeper on the day (not our usual Elizabeth) wasn't pleased about this and spent every ten mins 8-9m knocking on our door saying "Por favour??" Even when directed to reception!!! Very rude!

There is a luggage room to store luggage but anyone can take the key to it so it's not secure.

Portinatx is gorgeous, as is ibiza it's a very special island. The nearby beaches are fantastic and we spent our days there when we weren't by the splash pool. The views from the hotel are fabulous, it's a gorgeous place! The walk to the beach is 2-5 minutes downhill and uphill is hard going especially in the heat so not for those with walking difficulties! But if you can manage it, it's definitely worth it! Portinatx as a resort is quite small but a few bars shops and restaurants there to keep you occupied.

Sea is clear and shallow - definitely recommend a snorkel!

There is a travelling hippy market two mins walk from the hotel on Sunday eves.

In summary; this hotel has once been a really good hotel it has all the facilities there but it's gone downhill and needs some money spending on it to bring it back up there. I hope this is done as it's in a brilliant location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and fell in love with Ibiza, the hotel isn't great but didn't dwell, we made the most of it all, but wouldn't dream of staying here again in it's current state.

If you've booked this hotel go with an open mind and don't expect too much. Either way you're going to a fabulous island, you'll have somewhere to sleep and be fed and watered overlooking a clear blue sea and a gorgeous beach, surely that's better than being at home ;)
