“muy bien, two thumbs up!”
Reviewed 21 April 2012

This is my way of saying thank you to the people of Canoe Beach Resort. We made our visit last March 2012 and everything was just wonderful, from the place itself up to their personnel.

Every view was just picture perfect, i guess that is the best way to describe the resort. Talking about the resort, their room paint color was nice, looks so clean and it complements the ocean, relaxing in some way (I cannot bypass the room paint for it was so nice in pictures). The rooms were clean and properly arranged (I am little bit obsessive compulsive when it comes to cleanliness) though they don't have televisions in their rooms it doesn't matter anyway for we went to the place to enjoy the beach and the most enjoyed half-day activity the "Island Hopping."

The pleasing look of the resort was more appreciated because of the contribution of their personnel who were so courteous and very attentive to our needs. Regards to Ms. Annie who made our booking, to Mang Jan/John and Kuya Tabio, the official banceros of Canoe Resort in our island hopping (Mang Jan/John who has a future of being a photographer) and to Mang Nilo who assisted us in our needs at the resort. Thank you!

Staying here didn't cost us much, they don't overprice. Each expenses was reasonable enough, and due to that, value for money is a big check for this resort.

Room Tip: Rooms at the beachfront has an exemplary view.

Offers basic amenities/facilities for convenient stay. The rooms and the whole resort are generally clean. The resort also offers grill stations on the beach area, has an adult and kiddie swimming pool and free use of nipa huts.

The only downside is they don't provide bath towels, no refrigerator or tv, no hot water for shower, no credit card facilities, no nearby restaurants or convenience store
But the good thing about it is that they will tell you about these upon reservation, so it's up to you if you still want to go with the booking. They will also not try to trick you with marketing pitch - what you see is what you get as they say.

Although Canoe Beach Resort only offers the basics, it gives us modest, yet reasonably comfortable accommodation options – just perfect for a group countryside weekend getaway.

Room Tip: If you want some privacy, do not book on their Dormitory Rooms

we booked at this inn last sept 3-4, for an overnight stay. it was about a 30 min ride from the town proper of san antonio. we didn't have a hard time finding a ride as most tricycle drivers knows of the place. if you've your own car, just ask around, people are very accomodating and friendly.

upon arrival, the first thing that i noticed is how clean and orderly it was. they also have a big parking space, in case you brought your own car. we immediately proceeded to the reception and checked in. we were given room D. for the amount of P2,200 for 4 pax, the room is quite nice. inside, there were 2 double beds, private CR, hot and cold shower and air conditioning unit. theres also a separate door inside leading to an open space where you can dry your things after the water activities. the front desk people will also be more than happy to assist you in looking for guides for island hopping and trekking. also, use of the facilities(grilling station, beach front nipa huts, swimming pool) is free if you're a guest. the inn also has their own restaurant and i recommend everyone to try out their chili chicken. it tasted so good that me and my friends can't stop raving about it, even days after going home. ^^

btw, they don't provide towels though. i hope they take note of this since for other inns, this is already part of the package. but sans that, it was a great experience and i won't think twice of checking in at this hotel the next time we visit san antonio ^^

Canoe Beach Resort is about 30 to 40 minutes away from the Municipal Hall of San Antonio. It is well-known so you can just tell the driver to take you there.

The resort has a clean medium-sized pool. It also has a bar and resto. The room we rented is their airconditioned standard room good for two which costs P1300/ night. Room is basic- comfortable bed and clean CR.

You have to go to Anawangin and Nagsasa coves to enjoy the beach. There are a lot of boat men along the beach whom you can ask to take you at those coves.

Taking advantage of having the whole family together for the holidays, I'm quite content to have booked our vacation here :).

The room was clean and the people were friendly. Carol, the owner, is quite hands on managing the place and she's a wonderful acquaintance to chat with! The staff was very accommodating as well, special mention to Noah.

The beach was wonderful. I recommend you take a boat ride to anawangin cove. Experience pine trees on a beach on a tropical country haha. and i loved watching the fishes by the rocks.

The resort also has a good pool that gets cleaned daily. I just wish they had hot water in the rooms and one thing that really annoyed me is that they charge 50 per towel that you borrow. I don't mind bringing my own towels but just the fact that they can't include that in their basic service almost made me flare up.

All in all though it was a great experience and I hope to go back sometime soon.

  • Liked — location, friendly staff, good price
  • Disliked — no hot water, no TV, and no towels with the room
