“Simply lovely”
Reviewed 21 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This unique cottage is even lovelier than expected. All mod cons plus the delightful historic village for a truly magical experience. The owner Sue has created a lovely haven for visitors, and has provided lots of information for family history research as well as a huge amount of tourist information. Excellent Wifi has been a bonus, as were the recommendations for restaurants, which provided totally unexpected gourmet meals at unbelievably great prices. We have not met anyone here who had not given us a cheery greeting and warm smile. Truly a wonderful experience.

“Amazing - we just didn't want to come home!”

Sue is a very warm and friendly person and from the initial contact everything went extremely well. Communication was excellent when it was required and info sent as promised, contact names and numbers were given for the 'just in case' happened. The description of the property was excellent, and in fact we could both see the sea when we were sat in the right place at the dining table. On entering the cottage it was warm and smelt fresh and clean. A lot of thought has gone into the renovation and because they use it over the winter months this probably makes them more aware of what works and what is also comfortable. Not having booked (and if you read the information sent it does advise you to book well in advance) to eat anywhere until 2 days before going up we were disappointed not to have been able to get into The Harbour Restaurant - however the benefit of this was that we ate at Pennon and the last night at The Gardenstown Arms (both excellent) The rest of the time we ate at the cottage - being able to cook and prepare in the well equipped kitchen. Plenty to see and explore in the area - we are intending on returning next year. Everyone was very welcoming and happy to suggest places to go. Nothing to dislike. Everything to like and we really did not want to leave.

“Just a perfect place!”
Reviewed 6 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We have stayed in this cottage in the summer and came back again to stay over Christmas. You can't get much better than this. Lovely cottage, very clean with all you need. The views are stunning and it is a fantastic base. Walk to Crovie along the sea path or when the weather is at its best just sit on the harbour, read a book and watch the world go by. Everyone is freindly, locals and dogs! Go to Cullen and sample the Skink - which is delcious or Elgin if you fancy a bit of retail therapy and diffent shops - bring back a haggis to thank your neighbour for looking after the house.

“This was our perfect place to stay”
Reviewed 24 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

What a fantastic cottage and surprisingly spacious. It has everything you need and is comfortable, clean and welcoming. We had planned to go out for dinner both evenings but as the cottage was so cosy and has everything you need - we just stayed in. Two days wasn't enough! We were sad to leave but hope to return soon.

“great cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 19 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at Harbour Cottage Gardenstown. The cottage itself is so well equipped i couldn't think of a thing that was lacking. I really liked the open plan kitchen/living area where there is very comfortable seating and it's nice and cosy. Up the spiral staircase is a nice bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Off the bedroom is the toilet, shower unit plus a huge bath. If you like coastal views this is the area to be. It is the best self catering cottage we have ever rented.

“Romantic cottage, perfect for two!”
Reviewed 1 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Harbour Cottage is a cosy, wee place with everything you will need for a perfect holiday.
The cottage is very comfortable & warm with a beautiful bedroom & stylish en suite. It has a really well equipped kitchen & sitting room with a super book/cd/dvd library.
It is a two minute walk to Gardenstown harbour which is such pretty spot or a ten minute walk to the beach. We loved our stay in Harbour cottage & look forward to going back!
