“Lovely Christmas Break”
Reviewed 5 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

A very last minute find thanks to being let down by another cottage owner! We called and spoke to the lovely owner Sue who kindly arranged for us to decend with our 2 dachshunds. The cottage was perfect for the break we needed. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough for all the shops needed. Everything we needed was already in the house and by the end of the week we really did not want to leave. Sue thank you thank you and we hope to be back again soon!

Harbour Cottage ticked all the boxes. A lovely quiet village in a beautiful part of Scotland. We loved the cottage and its proximity to the harbour. We also enjoyed the charms of the Garden Arms and Harbour Restaurant.

The cottage is ideal for a couple. Clean and well presented with adequate space and good facilities.

Would highly recommend Harbour Cottage and the Gardenstown area for a pleasant getaway.

Thanks Sue!

“Simply lovely”
Reviewed 21 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

This unique cottage is even lovelier than expected. All mod cons plus the delightful historic village for a truly magical experience. The owner Sue has created a lovely haven for visitors, and has provided lots of information for family history research as well as a huge amount of tourist information. Excellent Wifi has been a bonus, as were the recommendations for restaurants, which provided totally unexpected gourmet meals at unbelievably great prices. We have not met anyone here who had not given us a cheery greeting and warm smile. Truly a wonderful experience.

“Amazing - we just didn't want to come home!”

Sue is a very warm and friendly person and from the initial contact everything went extremely well. Communication was excellent when it was required and info sent as promised, contact names and numbers were given for the 'just in case' happened. The description of the property was excellent, and in fact we could both see the sea when we were sat in the right place at the dining table. On entering the cottage it was warm and smelt fresh and clean. A lot of thought has gone into the renovation and because they use it over the winter months this probably makes them more aware of what works and what is also comfortable. Not having booked (and if you read the information sent it does advise you to book well in advance) to eat anywhere until 2 days before going up we were disappointed not to have been able to get into The Harbour Restaurant - however the benefit of this was that we ate at Pennon and the last night at The Gardenstown Arms (both excellent) The rest of the time we ate at the cottage - being able to cook and prepare in the well equipped kitchen. Plenty to see and explore in the area - we are intending on returning next year. Everyone was very welcoming and happy to suggest places to go. Nothing to dislike. Everything to like and we really did not want to leave.
