Amphawa Na Non Hotel & Spa

Many people go to Amphawa just for day trip, but I will recommend staying one night at least in this hotel. Hence you will able to experience morning and evening feel of the floating market. It is within walking distance to floating market, shortcut way will spend 3min coming from the river shop behind, while using main road will spend 10min walking and will pass by shop lots and day market than only enter floating market officially from the main entrance.

The floating market only happen during weekend, it begin at 10am and 5pm most of the shops are start closing, the shop lots continue open till after dinner only nearby the entrance. Hence no point to go early morning, unless you want to take a boat rides to visit 5 temples with 50baths per person and it will spend you 3 hours. The idea time to walk around floating market is about 11am. But at night also have another chill up feel.

The hotel’s architecture is combined with modern and traditional Thai feel. Is open air every floor, and it has a living hall in the center court on every floor, is a good place gathering your friend. Every room comes with balcony, and I love the balcony with turf carpet, I had a wonderful tea time there. The air-cond very strong, till I have to off it or change to fan mode sometime. Wifi’s connection is strong and is free in the room. The bathroom’s design does impress me with the artistic wooden door and washing basin is outside from the bathroom.

Language is the only problem in this hotel (and in this town), the hotel staffs are friendly and very polite but unable to communicate in English. I think only one lady staff is able to speak limited English at the reception. She does help me to arrange massage in the hotel and transport to Bangkok and train market, appreciated.

We did try the Thai massage in this hotel but the capacity is only 2 pax in the same time, if you are really needs a full body massage, believe me to stay in this hotel. Because surrounding is no massage center, but you can get 2 massage shops in the floating market at the end of river bank (a long walking distance), it is ideally for foot and shoulder massage with cheaper price, but recommend having full body massage in this hotel. Overall, massage is expensive than Bangkok; food is cheaper than Bangkok. Souvenir is depends, some are unique which I didn’t manage to find in Bangkok, especially the coconut lights.

It is a relaxing place to stay, and I love it. I had missed the rooftop restaurant, perhaps will come in next time with kids.

I stayed at Amphawa Na Non for 3 nights just before the new year. As with seemingly every hotel in this famous market town, it was fully booked months in advance.

Staying with friends, a couple and their 18 month old daughter, I managed to snag a pair of 'adjoining rooms'. Thinking this would be a couple of normal en suite hotel rooms with a door between them, I was surprised to find it's more like a two bedroom apartment with shared living room/TV, shared bathroom, and two bedrooms. Each bedroom has large sliding glass doors with curtains inside.

None of this is intended as a criticism, maybe it's even described if I bother to read the website, but if you book a room like this it's best to know the detail of what you're getting. Privacy is perfectly adequate - the bathroom and separate WC have locking doors, and while the bedrooms are not exactly soundproofed, I had no trouble sharing with my friends and their daughter.

Rooms were smaller than most places I've stayed at in Thailand, but impeccably decorated and well services. There were a few ants, but I prefer not to make a fuss or blame the hotel as it's almost unavoidable.

The hotel itself is a very modern 'boutique' design, with many neat design features to attract the eye, like the room numbers projected onto the corridor ceiling. The hanging basket chair in reception is a dream photo opportunity with kids. To be honest, I booked it because it was available rather than out of a love for trendy design, but it made a nice change.

Staff are very warm, friendly and helpful, organising massage, taxi and laundry. In general they didn't speak the best English, which is perfectly fine as I should learn a few more Thai words anyway, but do be careful of the fact that they won't always tell you when they don't understand you!

A sign of a good hotel is when you can get reasonable or good service even when they're fully booked. We got that in Na Non, and noticed that when the breakfast bar was full, they quickly laid out a few more tables complete with white linen. The breakfast buffet was very good with Western and Thai available, and good coffee.

An essential tip for using the breakfast bar though: dress up warmly! The 'windows' are actually vertical wooden slats that channel the fresh air through the room. In a blazing hot summer I can imagine the welcome breeze this would create, but on a December morning when the sun hasn't been up long... well, I don't think anywone was in short sleeves.

The location is great. On our first day we saw it was close to the floating market, on the second day we discovered an much shorter route! I didn't see many massage places in Amphawa, but I had a couple in the hotel. I think the first was around 400 Baht for a 1 hour Thai massage. After that, it was hard to get a booking (they actually reneged on one booking), but when I did secure my second massage it turned out to be free. I have no idea why, but decided to give a bigger than usual tip.

All in all a nice, trendy but friendly hotel in a good location. Not cheap, but there's a good chance you'll enjoy staying there.

We stayed as a quick overnight trip from hua him to pattaya with a plan to see the floating market. The serice was excellent, while we were checking in the staff helped us organise a trip to railway market which is a must, fire fly tour all that day. Unfortunately the floating market does not happen on a Thursday so very little hsppening for tourists. Although we made ourself home at a Thai noodle stall drinking beer and noodles. But back to the hotel, it was brand new, very cool rooms and had a great stay. The breakfast was nothing to shout about toast and eggs but then we weren't there for that, had ace time. Would recommend but don't go on a Thursday if u want to see the market!

As a family of 5, it's not always easy finding good value accommodation for all of us. This hotel was perfect for us. It had a suite of 2 rooms, linked by a small sitting area with sofa and TV. The extra bed, which was solid and comfortable, was set up in the living room, so we effectively had 3 separate bedrooms. Unfortunately, there were no curtains in this area, so could have been a problem if you have a child who wakes up with the light. We have teenagers, who have no difficulty sleeping in day time so not a problem. It's a stylish hotel, with elements of interesting design. Scrupulously clean, with a good power shower. The boat trips, markets and Memorial Park were all a short walk away and the minibus stop for Bangkok was also close by. Friendly, welcoming staff.

Amphawa Floating Market is not just the market but an old, charming and beautiful town - beautiful architecture, beautiful way of life. Even for Thai people, we can hardly sense this style from anywhere else.

Ten years ago, there were only long-stay homes and resorts for people to admire.
So, I would say that Amphawa Na Non is among the first hotels that provide full amenities for the travelers yet it is incredibly close to the Floating Market.

What I was impressed the most during my 2 nights stay was its hotel's lively character that remains a touch of antique style. To me, it is "Amphawa" classic experience in a modern and comfortable platform.
The room is new and clean. Bedding is just "Na Non" (meaning Pleasing to sleep). I stayed at a room called "Moonlight Serenade" and it had a portion for a family. My mom and dad were very happy too! :)

If you don't expect too much for a boutique hotel in such an old rural town, this hotel will surely answer you to stay a night or two getting away from the city and have a changing scenery of relaxation.
The staff are friendly and handy.
Spa staff are amazingly good, too. Don't miss!

Amphawa Na Non is absolutely not a luxurious hotel, but a small, charming and warm place to stay observing the canal, classic town. The price is quite fair to me (I booked directly) I will surely come back again.

Tips:
- NO Floating market during Mon to Thur (Except holidays). Come here Fri - Sun.
- You can come to the hotel very easily by the public van - 80 - 120 Baht at BTS Victory Monument. The station is just opposite the hotel!
- Wake up early to witness or offer food to the Monks on the boat.
- Yummy seafood Amphawa Floating Market - prepare your own tissue
- Seek advice from the hotel about local good restaurants, they are plenty!
- Mackerel Fish is the signature food of the province. The served-hot fried one is the best.

Remind
- The hotel doesn't have a lot of TV channels particularly foreign ones.
- Breakfast line on Saturday has more selection than on Friday.
- Don't expect the gorgeous view. It's more about convenience to go to the tourist attractions by walking distance rather than living in the lush eco farm. Yet chilling out on the 4th floor rooftop with a can of beer can just fulfill your night.

Stayed here for 1 night in June. Great location near Floating Market. Friendly and helpful staff. We arrived early and they gave us cool drinks, towels and some lovely sweet cake to enjoy while we waited for our rooms. Lovely roof-top bar area with a great view of the town and river. Enjoyed a few drinks there. Didn't have time to try their Spa - however the Spa products (shower gel/shampoo/body lotion) supplied in our bathroom were beautiful products. Room was spacious, modern, well appointed and very clean. Great breakfast. A lovely well run boutique hotel - good value for money and I would recommend it as a good find. Well done guys - keep up the good work.
