If you are looking for somewhere quiet to stay in Western Crete where you are guaranteed a warm welcome, fabulous food and beautiful surroundings then this is it.

Location: The hotel is is a very quiet location with no other hotels nearby and is right on the beach. Although the beach is lovely, it is not the most specuacular in Crete and was therefore completely deserted most of the time, which in my opinion is a good thing! The hotel is about a 5 minute drive from central Kissamos and is the perfect base for visiting all of the well know tourist areas (and truly fabulous beaches) such as Falasarna (10 minute drive), Balos beach (30 minutes along a very rocky road!) and Elafonisi. It is also about 30 minutes away from Chania. In my opinion, the location of the hotel could not be a better base for exploring Western Crete.

Hotel: The hotel looks very new and is immaculate. There is a gorgeous pool which goes straight onto the beach and there is also a small pool bar. The rooms are fairly spacious and the one we stayed in had a fridge and air conditionning (both of which worked!) and a lovely balcony. The room was cleaned and new towels given every day. Although there was a restaurant downstairs it was very quite and you couldn't hear any noise from the room. In fact, the only thing you can hear at night are the waves breaking on the beach!

The hotel is run by the most welcoming family imaginable- nothing was too much trouble and everyone went out of their way to help us with our questions. The son of the family (Adonis) was particularly helpful and his English is first class.

Food: Having read the guide book, the first couple of nights we went out to eat and found a couple of very nice restaurants. The Captain (down on the small quay) had fabulous fish but somewhat lacked the ambiance and atmosphere of the neighbouring restaurant where the food was not as good. We were aware that the hotel did serve food but it never seemed to be particularly busy and we didn't eat there until the last evening- what a shame! The food in hotel was the best we experienced during the whole 10 day holiday.! We had the ouzo plate which was essentially a large plate of fresh fish with an optional glass of ouzo which was absolutely fantastic. I really would advsie anyone staying there to eat there at least once as it really will be the best meal of your holiday!

In short, having stayed in numerous places in Greece, I would say that this is one of the best hidden gems in Greece, so much so that we are already planning our return visit in the Spring (and I never stay in the same place twice!) I would however advise you to book in advance of arriving as we initially tried to book other dates (about a week prior to arriving) and they were already full.

Rooms are very nice, quite spacious and clean! The balcony has a table with 2 chairs.
We paid 35 euro per night including breakfast for a double bedroom. it would have been 30 without.... not sure the breakfast was worth 5 euro.

It's in a very quite position so you can sleep in peace and quite in the night.

I think it's the right choise if you want to stay in kissamos to explore the north-west of Crete: Balos, Falasarna and Efalonissi.

the very friendly and nice small hotel is ON the see, from the room you can sleep with the sound of the waves and feel free.
the restaurant is home made real food, and is very good quality/price.
Perfect for a romantic couple that want to stay in total relax, and Balos is very near! but also falasarna. And paleochora, is just 1 h drive.
it is better if you rent a car.
the staff are very friendly, and they helped us every time (also with the car stopped into the sand..)
feel relaxed at mesogios!

My family and I stayed at the mesogios apartments in August and had a wonderful holiday.
Our apartment was very clean and comfortable and it felt as if we had our own private beach.
The food was good and the family who own the apartments are very welcoming.

I would definitely recommend the Mesogios apartments as a great place to stay to explore the wonderful beaches of North West Crete.

Mesogios Apartments are an excellent choice for families and couples seeking quiet clean modern accommodation a stone’s throw from the sea. We stayed in August, for 12 nights.

Overlooking the unspoiled Kissamos bay, around 2 km from the town of Kissamos, it is an ideal base to explore the quieter north west of Crete.

We had the large family apartment which was spacious and clean. The family apartment had plenty of living space for me, my wife and two teen age sons. The apartments have a swimming pool and poolside restaurant and bar.

Meals and drinks in the restaurant are excellent value, food is tasty and the service is always with a smile.

The family who run the apartments are very helpful and kind. They helped resolve a problem with our hire car which was a great help.

Highly recommended.

My family (we have 2 children 9 and 6 years old) has spent 8 wonderful days in this hotel. We had the room with the best view to sea and pool (but all the rooms have a sea view). The hotel is managed by a Cretan family. All of their members are very nice and enjoy to talk with the customers.

The meals in the restaurant (near the swimming-pool) are excellent. The hotel is very quiet too (we were in this hotel in middle of July). The sea is 20 meters after the hotel and the water is (as the swimming-pool) very hot (low pitch). You can easily alternate sea and swimming-pool (and bar !)

This hotel is really ideal to be no stressed. Hard to come back in France after this experience...
