“awesome trip”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We got the last ferry at 12:30
1h to Gramvousa
In Gramvousa was a little but beatiful beach and a fortress at the highest point of the small island. 2-3 halter the ship headed to Balos Lagoon (15 min travel)
Very Very nice beach with amazing sand. I really liked it there and would have stayed longer (just 3 h). There's a little trail where you can walk up and have an amazing view over the lagoon!
Definatelly a must do!
ferry 25€ (20€ for students)
food and drinks on the ship (prices are okay)
life-long experince! you wont forget this place
if guess the 12:30 ride is better (not so many tourists anymore, most of them take the first ferry)
do not forget your suncream!

“Nice Boat Trip and Impressive Lagoon”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We booked this trip from Chania town centre and paid a little extra for collection from our hotel as we were staying quite a way out on the wrong side of town.
This was a very well organised and good English speaking guides.
We didn’t walk up to the fortress at Gramvoursa as it’s not really our thing but explored the beach and rock pools – watch out for the urchins !
The second stop was lake Balos which was beautiful and very relaxing. Great to swim in a lagoon although the water was not as warm as I had expected. The boat has everything on that you could want on a short excursion.
One tip we discovered by chance is that the trip was 20 Euros cheaper for us booking in Chania town centre then when we saw it on a day out to Aghia Marina which is actually several miles closer to the boat excursion so please beware !

“Cruise to Gramvousa and Balos”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Nothing very interesting. Remains of the fortress in Gramvousa was fine. You have to climb there a bit but it's worth IMHO. Nice views, some excitement due to high ground and not very safe paths. Balos is a very nice sand beach but far from the civilization so there's almost nothing else then beautiful sand and beautiful sea. Other than that windy and lazy cruise.

“Enjoyable day!”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

After reading reviews of this attraction on tripadvisor we decided to book a trip ahead of time. We caught a bus from Chania bus station, I don't know if it is typical but the bus took twice as long as what the schedule said it would so we arrived just a few minutes before it was scheduled to depart. After we found the boat we realized we had to take our printout to go get our tickets. Was a little stressed but as our whole bus was full of people for this cruise we knew they were waiting. Once on board there were several areas inside and outside to choose from to sit and enjoy the view. The first stop at pirate island was great!!! We decided to straight away make the hike up to the fortress and so glad we did. We were some of the first to get off the boat and arrive at the top so had a nice bit of time to explore by ourselves. The views from above were worth the hike up. Just make sure you take water with you, was pretty hot the day we went. When we got down we still had about 20 minutes to swim before we got back on the boat. Went and found the cafeteria, didn't expect much of the food so was pleasantly surprised it was quite tasty. They had a small assortment of hot food as well as salads and sandwiches, beer wine and sodas. arriving at Balos happy to see it is as scenic in person as it is in photos. Enjoyed the two hours we had exploring this area before it was time to head back. When we got off the boat the city bus was parked right out the exit, very convenient!

“paradise and must visit -if you are prepared, its a lifetime magic”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

well it sure was wonderful and had the time of our lives..but WE WERE LOGICAL.i can tell you like 10 people who didn't like it because of the details....first of all you get into the the boat ,prices are not cheap-not expensive ,they are ok...the boat starts and it takes 1hour to get to gramvousa..now the details start..gramvousa has a wonderful castle that its worth of seeing but you have to be ready for rocks and heat and it takes about half an hour to get up there.what does that mean?that means people that you NEED1)WALKING SHOES(not slippers -for God's sake people)2)SUNSCREEN(its Greece its hot ,its not like ,in your winter countries)3)A BOTTLE OF WATER...do all these details ,don't try to run up ,do a couple of short stops AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.(dont go with slippers on and then grouch about the rocks!!!)..people with heart or breathing problems, its much better to sit on the beach..Then we got down from the castle and enjoyed a swim on the beach..then got back on the boat and it took us to Balos.....OH WHAT A PARADISE...you will enjoy that sea...i played like a child on that shallow beach (and believe me i am not that playful person)..and then back on the boat and you also have a "happy hour" on the boat ,40 minutes before the end...IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY ,it was a beautiful experience...
