Eleni and her wonderful family are a real dreamteam, working hard but joyfully to prepare this evening of approx. 5 hours of woderful experience. This evening we will fill our bellies, heads and hearts with these popular traditional cretan and greek specialities, and we won't miss out on real cretan hospitality and culture either.

Every recipe presented and created in cooperation with us (the guests, a small group of 5-6 people) were easy to do, Eleni and her mom helped us out and showed everything several times, making sure that everyone understood and knew what to do.
The location is the old farmhouse of the family that they have owned for several generations. Dozens of olivetrees, orange and tangerine trees are surrounding the perfect farmhouse, we are preparing the food on the terrace of the house, under the grapeleaves in the light of the setting ssun.
Almost all ingredients we are using are homegrown, fresh, and are of the production of the family or otherwise locally grown, picked on the day we were there: the salt was picked from the rocks by the sea by Eleni's father, the oliveoil is their very own, made directly from their own trees. Of course the whole process will be explained, and we saw the rest of the garden and yard introducing the goats, the ocra and other vegetable plants, herbgarden and so on...
We prepared about 5 dishes, had a lot of fun and laughs, a wonderful time and probably the most delicious and most honest food in Crete.

My sister and I both enjoy cooking so thought a cooking class while on holidays might be fun, it turned out to be so much more! Not only did Eleni and her Mama Chrysoula teach us how to cook a delicious Cretan vegetarian meal, they warmly welcomed us into their home and shared their customs and way of life with us. We both highly recommend this activity!

We were taken to an old farmhouse in a very rural and beautiful place overlooking the mountains one side and the sea the other.
We made a few Cretan dishes, and followed the clear step by step instructions from Eleni, (whose English is very good) and then sat down to a delicious meal when it was cooked!!
We cooked and ate outside as it was such a warm and beautiful evening!
I now feel confident enough to make a few Cretan dishes myself having been able to learn 'hands on'.
It was an excellent evening out,one of my best experiences on the holiday!

It was an enchanting evening - I am not a cook and was able to make a number of delicious Cretan dishes with an international group of people. Eleni and Mom and family are fantastic hosts. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the farm and hands on cooking which has given me a lot of confidence. Ideal for solo or family.

My husband & I wanted to do a Cretan cooking course, given we absolutely love Crete. We were so happy when we stumbled across this fantastic cooking course with Eleni, accompanied with her mom too! She made cooking Cretan food look so easy...we loved the yemista (stuffed tomato& green pepper), as well as the yummy dakos, and let's not forget the dolmades and stuffed flowers...all were delicious. We plan to have friends over and shall be making all these great Cretan dishes. Thank you once again to Eleni & her mom for the truly awesome authentic Cretan cooking course at their lovely home. Highly recommend :)
