The hotel are runned by a very nice family. They do everything to make your stay as comfortable they can. The room was average but the pool and the pool area where to small. Its a pitty that they dont serve anything at this hotel.

Nice apartment hotel glose by the Beach i Kampos, Samos, Greece. We were here for one weekend and afsked the manager Kiriakos for some good trips in car (they have 10 brandnew Hyundai I10 and I20 for rent at Pelagosapartments) it Washington so fantastik to see the smal villages High up in the mountainbike that he recommended. Don't hesitate to ask him - you won't be disappointet. It's the family (mather, fatter and sister) who runs Pelagosapartments - and they dó it very Well. Visit Them and feel Their hospitality.

Room Tip: Ask Kiriakos for car-trips.

This accommodation is situated in Kambos near Votsalakia on the beautiful island of Samos. We travelled there in September for a week and enjoyed it very much. It is a mountainous island and the roads in to the resort resemble a scene from the Italian Job.
This is a good self catering accommodation.

The Room
It was actually quite large with a good fridge. It was very clean although the bins were only emptied twice in the week leaving a pile of rubbish to build up. The hotplate was not much use if you are really thinking of cooking but the accommodation is a lot better than some of the "basic" Greece we have stayed in before.
The aircon is available and we took up the option and the cost was 6 Euros a night, 42 Euros for the week. You may want to see what it is like for one night as there is a nice breeze (in September) . The shower is typically Greek but practical.
There was a table and chairs on the "balcony" but the view was only that of the next room. Saying that we enjoyed a few evenings having a drink out there. The hotel will keep valuables in their main safe for you free of charge and are very quick to tell you there is no crime which I can believe.

Pool
Small but plenty of chairs. Generally clean and tidy around the pool, although flies seemed to build up in the pool during the day, certainly the owners couldnt do much about that. We used the net laid around the pool to empty the flies and then swim. We were very happy at the poolside for much of the holiday. The pool bar did not open whilst we were there.

Setting
Right on the road running along the shingle beach. It is about a 15 min walk into the centre of Votsalakia. The road is relatively quiet and easy to walk along. Turn right out of the front door and there is a supermarket 50 yards along in which prices are reasonable. If you carry on then you will pass Hermes rent a car which is one place where you can exchange money. There are several others in town as well. The town had one cash machine which was working when we used it.

Restaurants
We ate at several restaurants and found that everywhere was a little pricey. The standard was very good in all the places , however one in particular stood out. Search out "The Ballad of Bill and Salome" in town. The food is excellent and the owners work hard. I have written a review just on the restaurant itself. We went with Thomson and had the welcome meeting in town at "the new centre of Kampos" bar, they give you a ticket for happy hour (2 hours) every night and you need it. We liked a vodka and diet coke and the price was £5 each or £5 for two in happy hour. Still this was a good bar to go to and it did have the football on as well.

Trips
We went on one trip to Ephesus in Turkey and enjoyed it very much. Only one recommendation and that is to take Turkish lira and use it to pay in restaurants if you have lunch away from the trip party.

Overall
This is not a party place but if you want a good relaxing holiday where the food is really good then this is a great place to go.

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor

Apartments
Stayed here in July 2011 with a friend, we booked last minute and were very pleased with our accommodation. The rooms were cleaned every other day and towels changed. We never used the kitchen to cook in just the fridge to stop our make-up melting.
The beds were comfortable. We didn't use the air-con as there was a charge, as there is with most self-catering places. The bathroom did represent a small pond by the time we'd finished in the shower, basically the tiles didn't slope down into the drain - soon dried with the heat. The pool area seemed clean enough, I never saw the pool bar open.

Resort
We went to the beach every day rather than the pool area, as Thompson guests received free sun beds at the bar [New Centre Cafe Bar] where the welcome meeting was held plus the staff would come and take your drink orders.
Not for the younger ones as its mostly restaurants with a few bars and one club we went to for a total of an hour.

Only problems was the electricity and water cuts. The electricity cuts knocked out the only ATM and the next one was in the next village which if I remember correctly was 7km away, the hotel owner offered to drive us to the next village. One night we were left without any water and showered by bottled water and put our make-up on by mobile phone light. Do not let this put you off it only happened once and it was fun. You can see why they have problems getting power due to the beautiful mountains and once the sun disappears behind it it gets dark very quick, well it did in July.

For lunch time snacks try the 'mad pomegranate tree', just up the road from New Centre Cafe Bar. We never had a bad meal in any of the restaurants we visited. Staff in all the places were very friendly and always close at hand with the Ouzo to finish your meal with.

Flights were fine even though they say they have a very short runway, as a bit of a nervous flyer I didn't find it a problem.
