We stayed in cave 17 Mamabel for 2 nights as part of a guided cycling holiday.
First impression of the whole place was amazement. My wife & I shared this 2 bedroom cave with two others in our group. Both bedrooms had their own bathroom and a shared kitchen & living area. The kitchen would have graced a reasonable sized house with dining table & soft seating in the lounge area with TV. Each cave has its own WiFi.
We ate in the restaurant La Cueva Del Parador at the hotel both nights, see separate review.
The manager showed us around various cave rooms & I would have stayed in any. All were amazing. Its difficult to convey the wow factor this place has. Really unique in my travels.
They took great trouble to state that their were three stages to the restoration. The oldest part was the original farm caves. The second stage was slightly newer & we wer in the most recent renovations. The oldest semed to have the most character
We had the upstairs bedroom in our cave but the second best bathroom, please view the photos, it was fantastic.
If we are ever in that area again we would definitely revisit.
Being March the swimming pool had not been filled, that was due June.More
