We (4 of us) stayed at this agriturismo for a week in September last year. I went to review it upon our return but it wasn't listed on Trip Advisor at the time. This was our first stay at an agriturismo. Agriturismo Renai and Monte was recommended to us by our son who had stayed there the year before. It is not easy to find - so make sure that you have detailed directions before you go. We had traveled down from the Cinque Terre that day, our sat nav failed us miserably and we failed to spot the rather modest sign.
The Renai and Monte accommodations are in separate locations. We stayed at Renai. Monte (not really within walking distance of Renai) has the pool. You know all of this in advance from the website.
Upon our rather late arrival (after 7pm) we were cheerfully met by an English speaking member of the family that runs the farm and accommodation. Our two-bedroomed accommodation was, on the inside, modern, spotlessly clean, with a great bathoom/shower and a smallish, well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were huge by Italian standards with big windows opening out to a pretty view of rustic farm buildings and orchards. Comfortable beds! The style of the exterior of the buildings is Converted Tuscan-Rustic.
We knew when we booked that Monte (where the pool is located) was a couple of minutes away, down the road. By car. However, it was no problem, at the end of a day of sightseeing, to load up with a few drinks, towels, etc and drive to the pool.
I'll devote a paragraph to the pool - as this spacious area was the icing on the cake. Spotlessly clean, lots of modern, comfortable chairs/loungers, a warm outdoor shower and views to die for. I will never, ever forget sitting by this pool in the late afternoon, glass of the local red in hand, sun descending over undulating hills of olive groves with the towers of San Gimignano in the distance. Life doesn't get any better that that. And most late-afternoons/evenings we had it all to ourselves!
Very good laundry facilities at both places.
Monte and Renai are within day trips to Siena, Lucca, Monteriggioni and Volterra and - with a little bit of effort via your smartphone - you can find enough great little local restaurants to eat at for a week. Dinner in San Gimignano is within easy distance - 20 minutes or so.
Regarding the family members who live and work on the farm - they ranged 3-4 generations from young to very old. Though (when we were there) only one person spoke English - by good-natured expressions and gesticulations we were made to feel welcome to watch the rustic (though beautifully kept) farm in operation. We went for a few walks among the olive groves & orchards during early morning and were pleasantly surprised to see wildlife - and the biggest hare I have ever seen!
For the price - this agriturismo is an absolute bargain. It ticked all our boxes.
We loved this place to the max!

Room tip: Stay at Monte for the pool - though Renai is quieter. Stay on the first floor.
