We had a wonderful week at Casa del Pastore. Our days were spent at Sienna , Florence , Voltaire or the amazing Sangemigiano. A few afternoons were quietly enjoyed at local wineries sipping on stunning Chianti and our evenings were enjoyed mostly at any of a number of incredible local restaurants.
I say “ mostly “ as we had our own home cooked meal on one night and another night we were treated by our hosts Eric and Adriana to a magnificent Tuscan feast consisting of gnocchi ( made at the villa complete with a lesson on how to ) and fettuccine with a rich tomato sauce ; complimented of course with a couple of bottles of Chianti Reservo selected by Adriana.
The villa was clean and beautifully presented and priced very reasonably.
We cannot recommend the place enough.
Our group of 4 stayed at the house for 3 nights. We were greeted by Eric and Adrianna onour arrival to review everything and to answer any questions. The house is lovely and has everything you need. Beds were very comfy. Grounds were so what we hoped for lemon and olive trees inground pool and outside furniture. Location is so perfect for travelling everything we wanted to see was about half hour only away. Tuscany region was everything and more. 100 percent will revisit the area and this charming home. Eric and Adrianna also came to say goodbye. Perfect hosts!
We spent nice days in this beautiful house and were personally well looked after by Adriana and Eric. The kitchen is well equipped, everything is decorated tastefully and very clean. Casa del Pastore is located perfectly to visit all the cities of culture in the surrounding region!
Casa del Pastore is a brand new villa near to Gambassi Terme. It nestles on the valley side and receives a gentle breeze throughout the house. Eric and Adriana are perfect hosts and one of their suggestions, to visit the local music festival, became a highlight for us. The villa has everything you need, a large master bedroom with stunning views to 2 aspects, a spacious outdoor area (with very comfortable seats) to watch the sunsets, a pool with a whirlpool ideal for cooling off in the afternoon sun. There is a large open plan kitchen and living area with all of the facilities you need for a relaxing holiday. Gambassi is a 15 walk, up hill (and the hills are steep in this part of Tuscany), across the valley is an excellent restaurant, its about a 20 minute walk but you do need to take a torch at night. The nearest large supermarket is the Coop at Certaldo it is 10 km or about 15 minutes drive and has an excellent selection of Italian and other foods clearly catering for the visitor as well as the local, it did have a far better selection than any other we tried. We do hope to be back at some point in the future.
