“Beautiful hotel and amazing Spa”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 via mobile

The Grotta Giusti is a beautiful historic hotel set in a charming part of Tuscany. But the thing that really makes this a special place to stay is the friendliness and quality of service from the staff.
The Hot spring spa, is a step back in time and a delightful place to spend the afternoon and have lunch.
The golf course is well worth playing and the setting is beautiful. Lunch on the terrace with the local members enjoying a bowl of pasta is hard to beat.
The Restuarant at the hotel, is high quality with a good wine list. Again the staff make the experience all the better
This was a great place to start a week exploring Tuscany. It is well worth a visit

Dear Guest,

thank you very much for your wonderful review of Grotta Giusti.

The courtesy of the staff is the main thing for us and I am very honored to what you write.

Grotta Giusti is the ideal starting point for many activities: of course relax in the spa, enjoy the experience of cave diving but also play golf, shopping, visiting art cities (Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Pistoia), walking in the most beautiful nature, and so on ....

I hope to welcome you soon.

Kindest regards,

Myself and my adult daughter had a wonderful time here. We've returned from a 4 night stay rested and relaxed .Absolutely beautiful hotel. Wonderful, well informed and extremely helpful staff. Food was delicious and waiting staff very informative. Our room was lovely a comfort room- not huge but nicely furnished and very comfortable . The pools are lovely ..and yes you do have to wear the swim hat the hotel provide! There are 3 pools, 2 thermal, one spring water and 2 are for hotel guests only, as are a large swathe of nicely padded loungers. Staff here could not be more helpful. And in the nicest possible way. Grotto is amazing experience, well worth doing . Yes it's hot in there but it's a thermal cave. Spa looked lovely never quite got round to having a massage. Plenty of places nearby to visit we went to Vinci, Florence and some amazing gardens at Villa Garzoni in Collodi- after the gardens I recommend the cafe opposite . I would happily go back here ..and this time make sure I have a massage.

6 great days, pool that just be 25m x 25m with spa jests in various guises at one end. Warm volcanic waters.

A smaller pool reserved for residents only with some great pressure jets from all angles to give a great massage.

Huge variety of Body Treatments and a very very warm cave !! An organised morning walk and exercise locations in the route prior to a great breakfast.

We toured every evening so did not manage to use the restaurant for dinner but the menu looked good.

Some great staff who rescued me when one of the hire cars became a problem !!

Great staff, great location and good quick access to other nearby sites.

highly recommended, many thanks

Dear Guest,

We thank you for the kind comment you left about our Resort.

I'm really happy you appreciated our spa, the treatments and the kindness of our staff, a key point for us.

I can assure you that the quality of our restaurant, where our guests have a large choice of local (fiorentina steak and cacciucco are the specialties), international, low calories, flambe and tasting menus, is and with an affordable price. Next time don't miss it.

I can not wait to welcome you again at Grotta Giusti Resort.

We had a difficult start to our vacation. it was May 28th and it was very humid and they insisted they can not turn on AC until June 1st. the website says rooms have air conditioned so suggested we sleep with the windows open and they would provide bug spray so we do not wake up with bites. Really?? I spoke to the manager and mentioned they are false advertising so they turned on the AC. Perhaps I should not be writing this because they did turn it on the next day. the breakfast was just ok...the food is not fresh baked and the staff was grumpy. we were so excited to be there and I am sure they get tired of american's trying to speak italian. the view from the pool is amazing! the food in the pool cafe is very good also. I went in the gratto and enjoyed it, I love the sauna at home, but my friends did not enjoy it as I did. It is a natural experience.

Dear Guest,

thank you for sharing your experience and your compliments.

As you highlight each guest request is very important to us, in your case we solved it immediately switching our system from heating to AC even if the average daily temperature was 18 °C.

Lastly I would like to ensure you that all the food you find in our restaurant is fresh baked. Our food and beverage service is a very important part of our product and we decided to spend a lot of resources in offering an high level of quality and choice.

I sincerely hope to welcome back you soon, it will be a pleasure

We stayed here for a long weekend break a couple of months ago. We originally flew into Florence so spent our first night in Florence then picked up a hire car and made our way to grotto giusti. When we first drove up the hotel itself looked nice and the grounds were impressive. However, once we were shown to our room the disappointment set in. The room was tiny and looked like it hadn't been touched since the eighties.

The other big disappointment was the spa (which was the main reason we had booked). Apart from a swim in the outdoor thermal pool and then a 45 min trip to the grotto there Is very little else to do and the spa itself needs renovating (the walkway from the hotel to the spa had mould and rust on when we were there).

The one positive was the restaurant. The staff were really attentive and polite and the food was really tasty.

Our original plan was to spend 3 days relaxing in a spa resort, but we ended up driving elsewhere every afternoon so popped to Sienna, Portovenere and a couple of closer towns.

If you want a relaxing luxury stay this is not the place to come. I wish we had taken more notice of the other reviews on TA!

This is a thermal spa resort. Standard rooms are small, but we upgraded to a larger very comfortable room, nicely decorated with all what we needed.
Reception was first class.
The spa was a great experience. It has two outside thermal pools from the underground thermal grotto, with Jacuzy like streams. Great experience.
The highlight was a private diving session in the Grotto underground pool. Somewhat expensive (Euro 200 for a couple) but a non forgettable experience which should not be missed.
The deal was half board. Service in the restuarnat was excellent. Food was good but not outstanding.

Room Tip: Ask for a deluxe room - it is an additional Euro 90 per day - it is worth it.

The food is supurb and the spa is the real deal. They actually have medical doctors supervising. The hotel is very well run and they will do anything to accommodate their guests. I would love to go there on vacation.
