After reading all positive evaluations, we had very big expectations. All of them were fullfilled. Yemaya is a very persoanl and familiar hotel, you feel always at home and important to mention is this feeling goes hand in hand with a big portion of luxury. Very good food and Service.
Very nice and romantic atmosphere during dinne (Candle light dinner). Excellent service with a very good choice of food and drinks also during low season.
All in all is this hotel very recomendable.

Room Tip: Suites are perfect.

Our stay at Yemaya was outstanding. The rooms were impeccable and tastefully designed and decorated. Very comfortable. Right on the sand and with the pool as an option, our two young daughters, 6 and 8, were in heaven. The food is excellent -- especially the ceviche (I'd stay away from the heavier fish dishes made with cream and cheese) -- and the service excellent. It's a small staff, so don't expect instantaneous drinks arriving at your table, but they are all made from fresh ingredients, so you won't be disappointed. Special thanks to Lucy and our ever-attentive Miguel Angel.

As other reviewers have noted, the wifi is not strong/reliable and the beaches surrounding Yemaya are not kept up. It's a shame because it's really beautiful. The sea itself is quite clean and bursting with sea life, but trash does wash up on the shore.

I would still go back and highly recommend.

Very well maintained grounds, very private bungalows.
We spent 3 days there and loved it, I recommend it!
Very close to banearios de Punta Sal by moto taxi (10-15min) a great beach
Wish it had WiFi to communicate with family
The beach at the hotel is very rocky so not swimmable, lots of trash washed up from the ocean onto nearby beaches, clean immediately in front of the hotel
Very close to the highway so you can hear the trucks and traffic, so get ready to get woken up by it.
Apart from the street noise and lack of WiFi it would have been an excellent location

I was happily surprised with Yemaya Boutique Hotel. Having been to a few beach destinations around the world it is sometimes hard to meet expectations. However, the location of this place will not disappoint if you are looking for 'small town' beauty and nice secluded beaches.

The hotel itself is beautiful and particularly suitable for people looking for an intimate experience without the "hustle and bustle" of a chain hotel. A nice touch was the welcome courtesy drink which was refreshing and tasty. The food was incredible and the owner made every effort to make our stay very enjoyable. A nice feature of the hotel was also its proximity to the ocean, which made it easy to enjoy the sunset every day.

The rooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated, with the sound of the ocean accompanying you at night. A nice little terrace outside of the room provides a great place for light reading or enjoying the sea breeze.

If you want to go out at night you will have to drive to Mancora (20-30 min), or what I preferred doing, which was going to Punta Sal beach (5 min drive) and explore a different bar/restaurant.

I would go back to Yemaya Boutique Hotel. Keep up the good work guys.

Room Tip: Try and get the rooms closest to the ocean! Sleep with the windows open to hear the waves. Easier t...

As a family with a toddler, Yemaya was just what we needed to get away from it all. With so few rooms this is a perfect place for small families and couples (which seem to be the 2 main target groups) to get away from noisier other resorts and just slow down the pace. Rooms and other areas were spotless, the pool brilliant (also with toddlers) and lots of clean sand for toddler to play, and great sunsets.
Food was good with a limited varying choice per day of mostly great fish and chicken dishes (however, very few vegatables, but this is understandable - being so far from any larger town). Friendly personalized good service all round.

The hotel is located just in front of the beach, with a nice view... The bangalow we stayed was just in the sand, awesome view! Considering it is a little out of the city, the overall climate is super cool, silence and relaxing... Good to "clean the mind" for few days...
