“Family Holiday”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2012

The rooms were in need of updating and some money spent on them. However the staff could not do enough for you. Room was too close to busy road and bar was noisy at times. This said, pool was very good for the children but could have been a bit cleaner.

On the positive met some very good people and the hotel staff made every effort to make your holiday as pleasant as possible. 10 mins from excellent beach and great spot for touring. Recommend would hire a car to get the full benefit of your trip.

Stayed at the habitat for 2 wks in july, in a 2 bed appartment, rooms o.k bathroom bit small, air con was good.It was nice that there was 3 pools and you could use the sister hotel nxt door the duva. Lots of space around the 2nd pool to put your sunbed, thats if you could find a sunbed that wasnt broken, they were left every where that looked so untidy, sunbeds were filthy so was the poolside area litter left for days, only 3 umbrellas for the whole complex not gd if the kids wanted shade. The 2nd wk we were there the pool water was filthy think they attempted to clean it by throwing in loads of chemicals. The steps near the bar area were dangerous always wet and beer barrells left at the bottom (no common sense) Reception staff good the same cannot be said for the bar staff, who rarely cracked a smile appart from one who would be best described has Mateo from Benidorm. The bar prices were extortionate 3 euros for a sml fruitshoot, night time entertainment was terrible, would recommend going nxt door to the duva, grt bar staff too.The walk to town was o.k quickest way was towards the eroski on a bike track, buses were gd would recommend going to old town pollenca and alcudia. We ate in town most nights we liked the Dakota they had 2 restaurants in town, really liked port de pollenca and would return, but wouldnt return to the Habitat.

Having just returned from Majorca on 5th August and staying at the Habitat Aparthotel we were dissapointed with the complex. If you are looking for a relaxing peaceful holiday then don't stay here. It was extremely noisy with entertainment every night apart from Saturdays, it is clearly a kids based facility which added to the noise, the apartments were on the small side and the complex is next to the main road into Port Pollensa which is very busy. Although they have UPVC windows and patio doors they are not double glazed so any noise came straight through whether it was traffic noise or the entertainments. On the plus side the a/c was efficient and the staff were friendly and helpful and one electrical fault was fixed very quickly. However the broken freezer door on the fridge was never seen to. The key for the safe box was 15 euros per week and the remote control for the TV was 5 euros per week.

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room ask for the block that does not overlook the bar/restuarant.

This is my first trip advisor review although I do tend to check the sight before staying places. I'm writing this slightly ind efence of the Habitat really.

We stayed for 2 weeks - 2 families each of 2 adults and 2 children. Our appartments were ideally placed for us on the blocks away from the main bar area and on the ground floor so the kids could literally have breakfast, open the doors and bound straight out to the pool. The appartments themselves are fairly small and basic but then its sunny - we were hardly in them - and they were very clean and kept that way by the lovely cleaning staff who came evry 2 days to change bedding and towels and have a sweep round etc. The bed was comfortable and the kids had no trouble sleeping on the converted sofas in the living area after long days playing in the sunshine and the normal later Spanish nights.

The bar area was always quite busy with quite loud music and plenty of people so we were happy to be "round the corner" from it but it was good to go and visit and it served the usual snacky kind of stuff - hoddogs, pizza etc which were all fine on the odd occasion we had some. The bar staff were very friendly and most spoke good or "get -by" English. The kids enjoyed practicing Spanish with them. Service was sometimes busy making it a bit slower but we were never in a rush anyway.

There is a little Spar accross the road which bakes croissants, pastries and bread fresh every morning and they were delicious. As you'd expect the prices were expensive compared to the Eroski down the road but we really just used it for the fresh stuff and did a big shop at Eroski when we first got there.

4 of us with 4 children between 4 and 7 took about 20 minutes to walk into town past the eroski down the dusty and hot path that goes that way past the Goats and Chickens which the kids loved - without kids it took literally 10 minutes! (Its a hot walk though!) Similar sort of time to go to the beach front down a more pleasant shadier walk.

Port de Pollenca is a lovely town with loads of great places to eat and we loved the market on Wednesday mornings.

Back to the Hotel. Our youngest daughter was 5 when we were at the hotel and the manageress organised a fabulous cake for us from a local bakery. The kids club also had a klittke bit of a party for her and the kids made cards which was a lovely touch.

In summary we really enjoyed staying here. It felt safe for the kids, the place was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful and friendly. We spoke to some people who stayed accross at the Duva and they thought it wasn't worth the extra money when they saw our appartment.

If you want luxury 4* this is not the place for you.

If you want somewhere where the kids and you can have fun and relax with plenty of interesting things to see in the town and excellent places to eat then it just might be!

Room Tip: The blocks away from the main bar area are more family friendly IMHO.

After reading all the good reviews, my wife and I decided to take our 3 grandaughters for a 10 day break at this hotel. Big mistake. If this hotel was in the U.K. health and safety would shut it down, which would,nt be a bad thing because that is what it needs. Shut down for 3 months for a good overhaul. Maybe then it could be a nice hotel. I will start with the good things. Air con good. Balcony, very good. Fridge adequate. Cleaners came in every 2 days to change towels, and clean round. They only changed the sheets once Thats the end of the good. Now the bad. First the apartment, All the rooms were small.Tiny second bedroom, with very little storage. Tiny wardrobe with back hanging out. Small bathroom with shower above bath. The shower head did,nt fit the holder, which meant the water just went everywhere. Because the floor was always wet the wood round the door was rotting. The switches on the lights were dangerous, one was even taped up with insulation tape , because it was broken. The cupboards in the kitchen, bottem shelves were all rotting, there must have been a leak at some time. Patio windows inside trimming hanging off. Shutters on windows, 1 missing, 1 did,nt work. If these had been working it would have stopped a lot of the noise from people partying till all hours of the morning. Grounds around the pools, Cleaners came out every morning to clean the tiles. What they need is someone going round collecting all the glasses, cups, plates, rubbish etc. There were 3 pint glasses left around the pool area for 5 days, before a guest took them back to the bar. The stairwell below our apartment was full of the same rubbish for 10 days. They had ponies in the grounds for children to ride. The horse muck was still on the path between the 2 hotels when we left. Now the pools. The childrens pool was excellent. The pool attached to this one was dirty, very murky, the last day we were there one of the staff poured 5 gallon of some kind of chemical into the pool at 08-35 in the morning, I presume this was to try and clean it up. The other pool was dirty when we got there, and gradually got worse during the 10 days. The last day you coud,nt even see the bottem in the shallow end. You could hear the pump working, but it certainly was,nt cleaning the water. Once again they poured 5 gallon of chemicals in, but at the end of the day it was still filthy. For this reason I stopped my grandchildren from using the pool. I don,t know who the manager was, but he needs to get a good look around, and get his act together, because the hotel could be O.K. Finaly, if you are Scottish or Irish with 4 or 5 kids, this is the place for you. If your not, go elsewhere. We go on holiday 4 times a year to places like Tunisia, Egypt, Sharm, Bulgaria, etc, so I think we know what we are talking about. Whit 16

Following a delay at our UK airport and the worst airport experience ever at Palma airport with loooooooooooong queues for passport control and complete havoc in the baggage collection area, we arrived to cloud. So when we eventually arrived at Habitat we were not in the best frame of mind.

Stayed for one week in a two bedroomed apartment. Two adults and one teenager. We were in block S which is quite far away from the main lobby, bar and restaurant area.

When we got to the room, I wanted to turn straight around and leave.

First impressions were very poor, dated furnishings and small bedrooms, especially the twin. We had an ant infestation, the air conditioning did not work and we only had towels for two people

Following a visit to reception, a very nice lady delivered more towels and a can of spray for the ants. She could not get the air conditioning to work, so arranged for the handyman to come along. He had it fixed in minutes. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

From then on things got better. The apartment was kept very clean, all staff were pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful.

It is a 10 - 15 minute walk into the town, but we quite enjoyed the exercise.

Overall, if you want a clean base for your holiday, I would recommend the Habitat as a suitable place to stay.

We stayed here self catering for the last 10 days of June, The room was a 2 bedded apartment and was clean and everything worked fine especially the fridge & Aircon (Thank God), the Balcony(first floor) was big with plenty of room for a table and chairs plus room for our 2 year old to play, we over looked the pool (block 3) which was nice, the location was about 15 min walk to the beachfront and main town with all it had to offer, we found prices varied alot on everything from food shopping to eating out, use the aroski centre just down the road it had everything you need at reasonable prices and check out the menus before you sit down as some places were a bit on the expensive side. I would reccomend these apartments to anyone but mainly to families as this is what it was geared upto.

Room Tip: The main pool area with the childrens pool was always manic so if you want a quieter room ask for Bl...
