Came home from this lovely hotel last week and can't wait to go back .Beautiful position right on the pine walk .We booked full board and the buffet breakfast which you can take outside by the water to look across the bay and even feed the fish was fantastic .Evening meals was equally as good ,My partner who was not too well was looked after by the waiting staff really well ,nothing was too much bother for them ...Only thing that spoilt it was that we paid Thomson when we booked this holiday an extra £81 for a room upgrade .And it was not cheap to book in the first place .Rather foolish of us to expect a nice room when we got there after paying the upgrade .
On arrival we were shown to a room at the back of the hotel looking at a wall rather than a sea or a pool view as we expected .So when we told reception the staff who I have to say was not very welcoming that we had the wrong room we were told that if we wanted a better room we would have to pay 112 euros for a room with a view .Hence to say we payed it as they knew we would because we did not want a room that was dark and depressing ..But the room we had 221 was a nice room .And our flight home was an early one and we left at 5am ..The waiting staff left a light breakfast for us which was a lovely touch

Room Tip: Don't. Except any room at the back of the hotel . An upgrade is a definite thing you will have t...

Having passed this hotel on numerous occasions when we went on family holidays to Majorca in the past, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a week of relaxation and luxury at the Illa d'Or, We were not disappointed and really enjoyed our stay there> The meals were so delicious that we were not tempted to eat elsewhere and sunning ourselves on the hotel sunbeds and swimming in the sea in front of the hotel was bliss!

Room Tip: Choose a balcony

The hotel occupies a very fine location. Best in the Port beyond question.

This was a much anticipated mini break with a well-travelled friend and, as the nervous organiser, I anticipated decent standards based on the reviews.....and the nightly room rate.

We weren't disappointed. Attentive staff, genteel and relaxing ambience, more than adequate outdoor sunbathing facilities, decent food and well-considered room décor.

With assistance from the hotel's excellent reception desk, we paid to upgrade our seaview accommodation at short notice to "with-balcony" and were allocated a location which overlooked the pool, but also with the requested forward-facing sea view. (Aircon is fixed at 20 degrees celsius in rooms).

We were very happy and very satisfied, though if I were to be pedantic, I do think the hotel stretches things just a little with their room descriptions. (Tip - don't promote "sea view" so prominently as a Superior room feature without equally emphasising this does not mean there is necessarily a balcony).

In terms of value, the Illa D'or is not the most affordable hotel in the Port, nor meant to be, but generally is not overpriced. I baulked a little at paying almost 13 Euros for a branded scotch and mixer - however it was a generous pour, so ultimately no more expensive than any hotel bar in the UK.

This was undoubtedly the perfect venue for a long overdue re-union with a much loved friend........and the setting more than compensated for her tendency to cheat at Canasta after her second perfectly-mixed White Lady.

Room Tip: If front-facing seaview with balcony matters to you, be clear that you may be allocated one which is...

This is a Grand Hotel in the tradition of the continental Grand Hotel but on a smaller scale due to being situated in a Mallorca holiday resort. We only stayed bed and breakfast as we wanted to get out and about so I can't comment on dinner etc. I can't fault room 222 in the "new wing". Room with verandah overlooking pool and sea. More than enough plugs for the modern generation and functioning wi fi. Also Samsung smart TV. Apart from the omelette station not having onion, peppers, chillies plus Tabasco, there is a good choice at the breakfast buffet. We had lunch overlooking the sea in the more restauranty bit and snacks on the other side. Both sides no cause for complaint or problem. It is a varied menu. It's not cheap but neither is it a rip off. They know their market. The hotel is situated at the top end of the bay away from all the crowds and noise (not that there is a lot in this resort). It has an outdoor pool which anyone will tell you is cold. It has an indoor pool with small jacuzzi which is slightly warmer and a sauna. It has a gym where everything works. It has a spa/beauty therapy/massage salon. Occasional entertainment outside in the evening, but if you are looking for "show time" go elsewhere. It is on the pine walk situated directly opposite the small beaches that shelve into the bay. Clientele is predominantly UK with some French, Spanish and German. Taxis into town are 5 euros but the walk is only 15/20 mins. The only thing we had a problem with is this. Clientele can be shall we say, elderly, and not appreciative of kids playing and screaming in the pool which they prefer to be a shady library. As a result no Lilos and rings in the pool was a bone of contention for some. Not us as it happens with our 8 year old but if you have a young family intent on pool time can I recommend the Illa D'Or apartments with the bigger pool? Good Hotel.

Room Tip: Has to be sea/pool view

We have just returned from The Illa D'or hotel in Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca which is in the North of the Island.
We had a wonderful time. The newly furnished rooms are spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable. The views from our large balcony were stunning.

Breakfast in the hotel had an amazing and varied choice. The lunch and dinner on the outside terrace were also excellent. Gabriel and Miguel looked after us while dining. They were efficient and welcoming. Again, the views were stunning and right on the beach.

The staff were exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble for them even though they were full. The reception staff, Francisco and Emilio and the others were very efficient, kind and welcoming and did all they could to accommodate us.

We will definitely return to this hotel in the near future. What a delightful hotel and place.

Room Tip: Good rooms are with a balcony. Sea view even better

Brilliant hotel. great location away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre but close enough to it to have a relaxing walk into it. The hotel has all the facilities needed to have a relaxing holiday. Comfortable rooms and great facilities. All the staff from the chambermaids to the reception staff were efficient and friendly, always with a smile. The hotel is right on the waterfront with ample sun beds for everyone or if you prefer at the pool next to the hotel.

The food was excellent and the choice was great. The breakfast selections were particularly extensive with food to cater to all tastes.

I recommend this hotel without reservation and I will certainly be returning.

Situated on the non-raucous side of the island of Mallorca, the Illa D'or is a small privately run hotel where the staff care about the guests and the owners care about attention to detail. The hotel is quiet and backs onto the sea. I spent most days sunbathing on the patio and then jumping off it into the sea to cool down, there is an indoor and outdoor restaurant - the outdoor has the better menu and the steak sandwich is perfect for lunch. Pine Walks has a real Mediterranean feel thanks, surprisingly, to the pine trees that provide shade from the sun, and in the evening young and old guests sit outside there to play cards and have a drink.Fantastic atmosphere, stay here.
