“LOVELY HOTEL WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2012

We have stayed at the Uyal several times since 2000 but this was our first time since the refurbishments had been carried out.

We were seriously impressed with the improvements to the rooms - everything brand spanking new, with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. A walk in shower, new flooring and furniture, digital TV, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and new windows ( which made the room nice and quiet at night ) were among the things we also particularly appreciated.

We were also lucky to get a room with a great view of the bay and a big balcony ( shall not disclose the room number because I want it again next time ) !

The hotel staff are absolutley first class - friendly, efficient and most professional. We were made to feel most welcome all the time we were there. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Special mention for staff on reception, and in the restaurant. Also, the cleaning ladies kept the rooms spotless and were also very pleasant and friendly.

The only slight downside to report is that the food tends to be a bit bland and the range of choice is not great. If this was rectified, there will be little else left to improve the holiday experience at this hotel.

Not a hotel to take children to - the Uyal is an ideal chill out location for couples of all ages who want to get away from noise and hassle for a few days !

Anyway, we enjoyed it so much, we are already planning our next holiday at the Uyal !

We stayed at the Uyal for five days in May. The position of the building is ideal with the beach across the road and a 10 minute walk to the resort centre. The management and staff were most helpful and wholly professional. An example of this: The room we were allocated did not have a balcony. (It must be the only room without one) We asked if we could be moved to a room with a balcony. That afternoon we were moved to a corner room on the top floor with views across the bay. No fuss, no bother, just professional service throughout. We were on half board and the food was outstanding with a good choice at each meal. I would recommend this reasonably priced hotel to anyone who is looking for an ideal location with friendly and professional hosts.

Room Tip: There appears to be only one room without a balcony. This is located above the front entrance of the...

This was our eighth visit to the Hotel Uyal, Puerto Pollensa, for a cycling holiday.

Having previously stayed at this hotel, this occasion was even better than before. The hotel is split between two buildings - an older one, and a newer one. Both buildings have been completely refurbished.

Staying in the new building, at the front with balcony and sea view, the room was functional and comfortable, with double bed, TV/radio, Small refridgerator (mini bar), telephone. The bathrooms have been completely replaced. Removing the bath to give room for walk-in shower, sink, wc, and bidet.

The room was at the front of the hotel, overlookining the main road and bay. Light sleepers may be woken by early morning service vehicles.

Plenty of storage in cupboards and wardrobes.

Staying on a half-board basis, the food was excellent quality, excellent portions, and plenty of choice. The staff were always pleasant, respectful and accommodating.

This being a cycling holiday. Once again the hotel has upped it game. The garage has bike pegs, so about 90 cycles can be stored vertically, suspended by the wheel. Each peg has a lock, and the key is available from the reception desk, free of charge for the length of your stay. So your cycle can be securely left here.

During the week of my stay there were occasions when every peg was taken, and then cycles can be left in the adjacent store.

Also in the bike store has been fitted a washing machine for use by cyclists. Free of charge, you have to supply the liquid. An excellent idea, but a little impractical when 90+ cyclists are on location.

A paid for laundry service may be better.

As always, an excellent trip, and a hotel I can heartily recommend.

This is the second stay at the Uyal and again had an excellent stay. The hotel has had a refurbish and I have got to say the Hotel is now fantastic.

The location is great, straight across from the beach and quiet, yet it is very close to the local amenities.

Food is very good with a wide selection and plenty of it.

Staff are very friendly and always willing to help.

We have just returned from our second visit to the Hotel Uyal and were fortunate enough to spend 10 days this time. The bedrooms have been upgraded to a high standard and are comfortable, smart and contemporary - it is definitely worth spending the extra for a sea view and balcony, the views are stunning. The hotel is charming and traditionally Spanish and all the staff are friendly and helpful, a credit to the organisation. The breakfast and dinner buffets are of a high standard, with lots of choice and plenty of it! We have had a great holiday in this beautiful part of the island.

We had a room (#252) with a partial side sea-view (no balcony). The room was modern, clean and functional. It was rather samll for a 4-stars. With just a desk and a chair as furniture it is better suited for solo busines travellers than holidaying couples. No place to seat except on the bed. This room has other problem too:
- WiFi did not work very well. Very weak signal.
- Bathroom ventilation system very noisy specially the one from the room next door.
The hotel is not on the beach as the picture might let you think, there is an avenue in-between. I hope other rooms are more confortable because the dinner buffet there was quite a treat. Very good service and excellent food and selection of local wines.

Room Tip: Avoid #252 or similar (room without bacony)

I am not sure how many times I have stayed here over many years, and it never disappoints.
We have just returned from a 7 night stay, B and B and then we had dinner on 5 nights.
All the rooms have been recently refurbed to a smart contemporary standard. The view from the hotel over Pollenca bay is stunning in the sunshine or rain, and the double glazing now installed means you hear little noise from the road. The food is good quality and consistent and buffet style, and good value, there are lots of good restaurants close by if you want to spend more.
The refurb has fortunately not spoilt the charm and style of an older Spanish hotel in the lobby and dining room. Most of the staff have worked in the hotel for many years and are well known to regulars who come to stay, this hotel appeals to a lot of older age groups who appreciate what the Uyal offers in style and service.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view room, you will miss out if you don't Be warned the entertainment which arrive...
