“Great hotel, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2012

Just got back from a weeks stay, booked through Jet2 - Flights a little delayed but not enough to worry about & easy transfer to the hotel.
This is our second visit to the Uyal, so have statyed pre and post facelift. We thought it was good last year, but after the refurb the room was much improved. Nothing particularly wrong last year, just a little dated. Bathrooms particularly deserve a mention - great walk in shower in place of the bath. Stayed in the main hotel builidng, which thankfully still retains some original charm - the refit hasn't got rid of some of the original features.
Always plenty of choice at dinner. Might not have been to our tastes every night, but there was always something. Food was well presented and the dining / serving areas spotlessly clean. All staff friendly and helpful, especially reception,They were great.
We didn't do much when we were there - used it as more of a "lounge around the pool" trip and would definitely go back. Only minor niggle would be there aren't that many parasols available round the pool area and the British obsession with reserving the best spots (parasols) with towels is still alive and well. Still, with a lovely beach only 10 yards away not a major problem.
Overall a fab break.

Room Tip: Have had a sea view on both stays - well worth the extra

Just returned from 7 days of sheer relaxation in what can only be descibed as a great hotel. Booked a seaview room and was allocated superior room on the ground floor in the annexe. Whilst the room was superb the location at the far end only gave partial sea view. No problem, Inma was able to relocate us to first floor a day later. Great views. Rooms were cleaned every day with new towels. Air con was a blessing. We stayed half board and the food was excellent. Gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers for dinner. Upto 5 courses most evenings, soup, selection of starters, main courses, desserts and cheese board. Food is self service and is fresh. no rush. Wine waiters headed up by Pepe the restaurant manager are first class. Don't worry about finishing a bottle - they will keep it for the next day.We never had a bad meal. This hotel is definitely a couples hotel and justifiable is 4 four star. Breakfast is first rate with huge choices. Pool is adequate and quiet, but we didn't use it much as the sea is literally across the road. The hotel is around 700 metres from the harbour/centre of town. we really liked the walk along the front. if you like great service, superb views and a stunning location this hotel ticks all the boxes. We met quite a lot people who had visited on more than 1 occasion. Entertainment most evenings with either singer or duet. If you like night clubs and loud bars, this not for you. There are other Hopasa hotels in Puerto Pollensa, but this is certainly the best.

Room Tip: Seaviews a must. go for first floor and above. Some superior rooms in the main building have adjoini...

Returned on the 26th June 2012 from a two week stay at this fantastically re-furbished hotel. Apart from the amazing location, and beautiful ambiance, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They all make you feel so welcome. I heard that the occupancy is 70% returning guest's, and I can fully believe it. People wonder why I return year after year to the same hotel, and all I can say is that these people have never stayed here or they would know why!
Special mention and thanks to Cristina on Reception, Waitress Celeste, Paco & Xisco. Thanks to all for creating yet another brilliant holiday at the Uyal.
P.s I'm not going to tell you my room number because it was perfect and I always want it to be available for me, lol.

After reading the previous reviews we were looking forward to our stay in the Uyal. We were not disappointed. We were allocated room 203 in the annex next to the main hotel, the room was modern and spacious with a good size bathroom with large shower, it had a sea view and balcony which looked onto the beach 10 meters across the road. Ensure you request a sea view and balcony as I believe a small number of rooms don't have balcony's.
We were on half board basis and found the food enjoyable and varied every night with wine reasonable priced. There is a dress code for gentlemen to wear long trousers at dinner. The hotel seems to attract an older clientele but we found this a welcome change from some of the 'family' hotels we have stayed at. The hotel is a ten minute stroll into the resort centre where plenty of bars and restaurants can be found.Would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Balcony and sea view essential.

Have just returned from a 10 day stay at this recently refurbished hotel in a perfect setting. it was our first stay at this hotel but it won't be our last, a fact borne out by the number of returning guests who were there during our stay. The strength of this hotel is, without doubt, their staff who are polite, hard working and extremely professional in all that they do. The rooms are comfy with an excellent walk in shower and the clientele at the hotel are of an age that there is no problem with noise at night. The buffet meals are well cooked with a substantial range, although there are occasionally some strange mixtures of main courses and vegetables. My only gripe was the quality of the coffee from the machine at morning breakfast but this could easily be addressed in the future.

An excellent Hotel that has recently been refurbished and upgraded to a 4 star Hotel. The half board buffet restaurant is of a very high standard, the chef cooking hot foods for breakfast and evening meals within the confines of the restaurant. The staff are extremely pleasant and courteous and ensure that the Hotel is clean and tidy at all times. There are plenty of sun chairs surrounding the good sized swimming pool which also has a bar facility. The Manager is a lovely lady who is readily available to speak to all clients.

Another return to this beautifully positioned hotel. Refurbished to a high standard and very comfortable. Everything spot on as usual, all staff wonderful and also a credit to the management who have selected and retained them. Nothing ever to much trouble for anyone, they all deserve a gratuity. Food always of a very good standard. Hope to be returning again before to long.
