This was our first visit to Puerto Polleca and since have broken the rule of a lifetime and have returned....it was that good.

The Hotel Uyal is situated a short (10 minute stroll) walk from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. The run of beach opposite is quite perfect - beautiful sand and warm sea - we visited at the end of September and it not too crowded - tourists during the day, locals start arriving around 6 with their families and volley balls...it really is lovely.

The hotel is a mix of colonial and the modern and i think they have got it just right...the old part of the hotel is fab - the covered verandas and comfy sofas and armchairs are the perfect spot to while away the time.

Our room was in the modern annexe just next door - had a balcony and a good view of the sea front. It was a very good size and well appointed.

Whilst we were on a half board basis we only really ate breakfast and the odd lunch at the hotel - both of which were very good. Dinner was a bit hit and miss for us - a big part of our holiday is eating out and trying new places so we only ate dinner there twice. It was decent enough but in comparison with some of the places to eat locally it falls short.

The pool is small and not too much space around it - the beds fill up quite quickly. There are more than enough dotted around the garden though..we didnt have our children with us (grown up now!) but had they been younger I wouldnt have booked this hotel if the pool is a big part of their holiday - or if they dont like the beach as we spent almost all of our time there given a)how small the pool area is and b) how beautiful the beach is. Saying that it does have a very 'grown up' feel to it this hotel - maybe it was the time of year we were there but a lot of older couples and not many kids (apart from one of couple we were by far the youngest - 40!).

The town is lovely - no nightclubs...one or two loud bars, hardly any all day english breakfast type places...its very pretty and fairly unspoilt. The stroll along the pine walk is not one to miss...there is a lovely hotel at the end which is perfect for a 'sundowner'...idyllic.

There are hundreds of places to eat - the best of which we found were Stay and La Llonja both of which are in the Marina..the set menus offer brilliant value for money...my favourite was Stay...

We really enjoyed our time here. The hotel is spotless, quiet and peaceful, the gardens are pretty. We didn't use the pool as the hotel is right opposite a lovely beach. The staff apart from one miserable old man on reception were very nice and always said hello and had a smile. Our rooms at first were mixed up as my husband and my room was in the annex building and our daughter had a single in the main building which wasn't ideal. Our room was ground floor which over looked the back of the hotel near the laundry so opening our window could be noisy but the room itself was great. Our daughhter's room was fine except the shutter opened onto the roof literally so wasnt easy to open and no view either. It was a nuisance whenever she came to our room as with the security only peoples keys who were in the annex would open the main door so we had to go and open the annex door for her. After few days they moved us into the main building and we had a junior suite. It was near our daughter and we really enjoyed the rest of the holiday. The food is amazing in this hotel, never eaten so well! Such choice and well cooked and presented. The beach opposite has beautiful clear water and if you buy a cheap snorkel in the nearby Spar shop, which also sell delicious rolls, you can swim with the many fish which are near the shore. We enjoyed this holiday so much we have booked again for 2014.

I came here with a large family group. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the beach. We had a 1 year old with us so having the hotel across the road from the beach was ideal if we forgot anything or needed to nip back to the room. The rooms had recently been updated and I found them to be perfect. Nice bathroom and plenty of balcony space too.

The hotel food was pretty much perfect too – never went hungry and the staff were excellent – especially with our baby. The hotel seemed to cater mainly for the 40+ age group – this wasn’t a big family hotel – although there were children around, there wasn’t much noise to be heard. The size of the pool is probably something that puts a lot of families off – but we’re more for the beach so its location won out there. The outside bar area and shaded area is really nice in the evenings as you look out on some of the best sunsets you’ll see around the Med.

Overall you would fail to be disappointed with this hotel. I’d go back in a heartbeat. I really liked it.

The resort sells itself – if you havent been to Puerto Pollensa before – then you really must. If you have young children, the prom is a great walk at night to get them to sleep in the push chairs and there’s plenty of quiet bars to pop into for a chilled out drink. I’ve been here twice and will certainly return. One of the few resorts that you can go away with children, but you’ll still feel like you’ve had a holiday.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a sea view...!

This was our first visit to Puerto Pollensa and Hotel Uyal, and we were delighted with our stay. The hotel and resort were first class. We had a front (sea view room) with a balcony, excellent views and a beautiful sunrise. The room was well equiped, clean and spacious. We had a safe, fridge and TV which received BBC1 & 2 (good for keeping up with the news at home) We stayed B+B but would choose half board to stay again. The breakfast was very good with ample choice and good service.
It was a good 20 miutes walk to the centre of things but the going was level and a pleasant walk.
Would definately recommend this hotel and stay again.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms in the building adjacent to the hotel are the same, with sea view and side vie...

We stayed in Hoposa Uyal in Port de Pollenca and ultimately we were satisfied with it.
The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
We had breakfast every morning and that service is one of the best I ever had in restaurants: great selection of food, some are prepared there. Many tables and places to sit, including the terrace too.

The Internet (wifi) was however disappointing. Very poor signal, slow internet and the phones could not even connect sometimes.

It's good to know that the hotel has 2 buildings. The main building and there is a newer building (we've stayed in this as on arrival we were offered to choose where we would like to stay) across side road. It is just next to the other building, so not an issue at all, but good to know that this building doesn't have a receiption.

We've stayed in a room with side-sea view from the balcony, but that was also good as we had a great view.

The beach was just across the road, which is absolutely fantastic. (There are also facilities there, like toilets, bar and lifeguards)

The hotel was not the cheapest by far, but taking everything into consideration, I can recommend it to everyone

We stayed here as a family for 1 week in October half term.

Firstly, the location of the hotel is great. Right across the road is a beautiful beach with clear blue water. 20 minute walk into town to get to the main shops / restaurants.

The room was excellent. We paid for a junior suite with a sea view which was very spacious and the view was breathtaking. In addition to this the room was very clean and the cleaning service did a fab job.

The food was ok. As I fussy eater I struggled to find a main meal to eat on a couple of nights but filled up on breads, cheeses and desserts. However my parents didn't have a problem with the food and found it to be delicious.

Service from all staff was excellent, all very friendly and very prompt with taking orders / taking dishes and drinks away.

Only downside to the hotel would be the pool and pool area. The pool is very small and there isn't a lot of room around it. This didn't bother us as we used the beach across the road most days.

Overall excellent hotel that's kept some of it's Majorcan characteristics, would definitely return in the future. This hotel appears to be for older adults and seems to be a good hotel for cyclists.
