We enjoyed a one week holiday in this aparthotel on a self catering basis. My daughter and I found it to be an ideal location, three minutes walk from a part of the bay that was ideal for swimming. The walk to the main part of the town took about 20-30 minutes but was enjoyable. We mistakenly walked to Pollensa (about 5 miles) the first evening, thinking that we would have to go there to get a meal-this is not to be recommended! There are lots of lovely places to eat in Puerto Pollensa and one in particular not far from the hotel just beside the Galleon Hotel.
We walked to the Spar to get supplies but discovered that contrary to other reviews the shop in the basement is cheaper for quite a few items.
The staff at reception were helpful and friendly but we did find that the cleaning was rather sporadic and had to ask for our bins to be emptied after 3 days.
Like another reviewer we were on the ground floor in a room that did not get much sunlight on the balcony and if going again I would ask for a room on another floor.
The hotel pool is wonderfully deep which meant you could swim here after the sea.
All in all a very pleasant holiday.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not on the ground floor.

We stayed at the Bahia in Puerto pollensa for one week last September.
The rooms were basic, but clean.
We had requested a pool terrace view and that's what we got.
We went self catering, which was expensive, but we ate in the restaurant a lot and the food was lovely, but salty.
Entertainment in Bahia however is non existent.
There was a parrot show one night but it was cancelled.
There was Spanish singers one night, and a female doing Adele songs, but there was no organised entertainment at all.
There was a barbecue one night, lovely.
Most of the guests were in bed by 11 pm
As the bar closed and staff tidied up.
The beach in Puerto Pollensa was a short walk away ( around 10 mins) and it was beautiful.
Clean resort, lots of cafe's shops and bars.
The pine walk was breathtaking. We took lots of photos of gorgeous scenery, harbour etc.
We did the blanket tour, yes the PAL one. Didn't buy anything but the coach trip was quite nice and we stopped off for lunch in Cala d'or which was lovely.
We saw where the pirates look out used to be too.
We also did the Island tour of Majorca which was not cheap and included no food.
It was raining heavily the day we went, but it is basically a four transport tour of the Island.
Starting on a coach, up to the port to catch a catamaran from Puerto Pollensa to Palma ( basically from North of Island to South) takes nearly an hour.
We were literally dumped in Palma to find a cafe before having to queue amongst everyone it seemed in Palma to get on an extremely busy tram to take us up to the station to board the 1920's wooden train which took us among the orange and lemon groves for a short scenic route.
We then rejoined the coach, and our absent tour guide for the long journey back to Puerto Pollensa. You will stop off at the discount leather factory on the way back. None of us wanted to, but the Thomas Cook tour guide insisted.
Maybe it was the weather, but I did not enjoy the day, and can't recommend it.
I'd say Puerto Pollensa is more for retired travellers, not young or even 30 something's.
It's a rich relaxed atmosphere, so not ideal for party goers or the like.
It might be more suited to families.
We only found entertainment in an English pub. Abba night was great.
There are lots of spar shops and supermercados here, and the people were friendly.
We had mostly glorious weather, but September is their rainy season apparently
The cooking facilities were very basic, in fact we hardly used them and the fridge was terrible actually.
Staff were lovely, bar staff, restaurant staff etc.
We enjoyed Puerto Pollensa. I don't like busy crowded places, but even this was too quiet for me.
It's the perfect place to relax, take in the beautiful sights, sunbathe swim or read a book.
Most laid back resort I've been to.
Quite a few unwanted animals though I'm afraid.
We fed the cats with tins of sardines from spar. Poor things were starving.
We didn't go inclusive here, but wish we had as the food looked lovely, lots of variety as usual.
Breakfasts were either cooked or continental.
The pool looked lovely, although I never ventured into it.
Sangria was great.

Pollensa is a lovely place to stay, Bahia Pollensa is lovely - BUT, the door locks is so old and easy to open from outside! We and another room in our corridor was robbed one evening. Not a nice experience. Ask the hotel if they has changed the doorlocks - if yes, we will recommend the hotel :) If not, it's really isn't safe :(

Room Tip: Ask if they have changed the door lock system. It's really unsafe as it is today! Choose en east...

I've just returned from a very relaxing two weeks stay at the Bahia de Pollensa Aparthotel.

We were in a studio apartment which was more than adequate for our needs - after all, how much time do you spend in it? Our balcony overlooked the bar and pool area.

It's basic with few frills but it's clean and well maintained. The furniture is a little old fashioned but well looked after and the towels could do with being replaced - some are quite stand and most are not very absorbant.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

It's not the hotel to stay at if you're looking for midnight revelry!!

The only negative comment I have is that it's a good 20 minute walk into the centre of Port de Pollenca. Not a major problem if you're able bodied but if you're pushing a wheelchair (which I was) it was a bit of a trek in the heat.

The local Spar supermarket has a super bakery and is open seven days a week.

Well worth considering.

Eleven days of super weather and comfortable accomodation, close to beach, near bus stops to travel up and down coast, reasonable fares. Clean rooms, some could do with an update as kitchens need more equipment for Families who do not wish to eat in restaurant. Staff exceptionally friendly and more than helpful. Great pools safe for children and room for them to run around. Interesting mix of all nationalities. We enjoyed our holiday very much and hope to return in the future.Magmart Wales

I spent 7 nights and 8 beautiful sunny days in a studio apartment along with my partner. The place itself is spacious, our studio was bigger than expected and extremely clean. It has got all you need. A fridge, electric cooker with two hobs, sink. The bathroom is large with a shower in a bath. the room itself is big with two signle beds(that you can join together) and an extra couch.Great benefit was to have a large balcony with a table and two chairs which was a great place to relax after a long day of walking in the heat(all of the studios and apartments have got one). There is also a TV and WIFI available in the room, though you have to pay extra. However, WIFI is free at the reception/bar area so if you desperate, save yourself a few euros and just connect in the lobby.
The staff of the hotel is incredibly friendly and helpful.Especially the two ladies at the reception. No question is too difficult, they were always there to give us advice, directions etc. with a smile on their faces.
the gotel has good and surprisingly large pool with two sections: 1.5metre and 1.9 meter.A vast bar/restaurant area is also a bonus. they also provide an evening entertaiment few nights a week. We havent eaten in the restaurant so i cant really comment on food but it seemed to be busy with guests so i'm guessing it was ok. Drinks at the bar,well... We tried coctails and they were very disappointing.I dont know if we were just unlucky and got an unexperienced bar tender but when we ordered two margaritas,we got to glasses (one chipped) of squizzed lemon juice?!?!? i should have complained but because we had such a great day and night that evening i let it go and continued on drinking Tunel on ice:)
Location wise: it is 30 mins slow walk from the town centre (or 2 bus stops ride).Puerto Pollensa is the most beautiful spot in the whole island in my humble opinion. surrounded by mountains, spectacular views, pretty marina and variety of restaurants to satisfy everyone's taste. it seems to be calmer and more relaxed than other ports i visited in the past. What is more important, it is less "plastic" and tacky than ,most of the mallorcan beach towns. It still has got too many hamburger&pizza places but it doesnt seem to be overwhelmed with the britishness and fast food like Alcudia for instance or west coast. you can still find a high quality traditional quisine, including lovely sea food dishes.Great gateway to visit Pollensa town, Cala St Vincent and many many more. You can go pretty much anywhere in the island by bus ( only 1.50 Euros one way, 3 E return). If you like hiking/trekking in the mountains-you will be in heaven. if all you do is to relax and sizzle on the beach- you will also not be disappointed-the biggest and widest beach on island and not that crowded. The great thing is that most of the hotels provide bike hire and car hire(same at Bahia de Pollensa) at reasonable prices.
All in all, the stay at this hotel was so relaxing and stress free that i would strongly recommend to anyone who is after a nice easy hols without spending a fortunate. it was reasonably prices. dont expect any amazing decor, it is basic but it has got all you need. the only downside i can mention is the towels. incredibly hard and dont absorb any water what so ever so i would suggest to the hotel to change them or change the company who washes them. But apart from that, top place to stay and discover the area.Cleanliness spot on ( no cleaning service on Sundays or thursdays)
note to any youngsters/party animals out there: Porto Pollensa is not the party place and if you are not into sports (hiking, sailing, swimming, windsurfing, walking, cycling) or sunbathing, you would be extremely bored. Also, the place seems to attract more people in their retirement age or middle aged couples/families who are looking for peacful escape.
I couldnt recommend the place enough.
Little tip, when your trip operator books a transfer for you, please make sure that the bus driver has got the right address as there is another hotel/hostel under the same name in the town centre and people are often dropped off there instead of this one. Sadly, it happened to us too.Anyway, if you are still not sure if this place is for you, send me a message and i will gladly help you out.Have a great Hols!

Room Tip: I would suggest Pool view, Second floor, rooms from 222-226

Spent 1 week s/c at these apartments mid-July 2011. Travelled with husband and our 12 and 8 yr old children. Apts clean and spacious, lots of storage space and they have aircon in bedroom and living room. The pools were great for us as we can all swim well. However, the only place a child can stand is in the baby pool (which means it gets crowded). The main pool is too deep even for an adult to stand in. The smaller round pool is shallow enough for an adult to stand in but not a child. There is a small amount of gentle kids entertainment most afternoons and occasional evening entertainment, all low key. Not much of an atmosphere in the bar area when we were there. Beautiful 20 min stroll to main square. 5 min stroll to lovely beach and a great pier for jumping off! We had a lovely holiday and can recommend it to people looking for a peaceful break.
