We have just got back from a week at the Pollensa Park, and after reading the reviews here I was a bit apprehensive. But I have to say in all fairness I was plesantly suprised! I arrived after a long trip at 13.15 and was directed to our room..... a twin facing the pool with an amazing sea view. The bed was two singles knocked together and the mattress was firm (first time ive not suffered with back ache on holiday!,,). The room was spotless with a nice balcony area, and the bathroom was also nice and clean with fresh towels. We had to pay 17 euros for the safe for the week and the wifi was free (but coverage and speed could be improved). We ate at the hotel most days for breakfast dinner and tea, and there was plenty of choice, loads if salad, capers, pickles, with fish freshly cooked on the grill, chicken, pasta, fresh bread, icecream, sorbet, cream cakes, panacotta, fresh fruit and even fresh cherries one day! Whilst yes the food is repetitive, but for the amount we paid we could afford to go out a couple of evenings at some of the restaurants nearby......its great if your on a budget and not particularly fussy about food as long as its edible..... I have been to other hotels all inclusive and they were terrible. There are activities during the day like water polo and rifle shooting and archery.....I also inspected the tennis courts and they were not overgrown and in good condition. We had alot of fun trying archery, but have to say we gave the entertainment at night as as it was a bit......sad. It was very noisy till about 11pm earplugs may help, but the location was so fantastic we found we stayed out late most nights. Gnts are good and the beer was pretty good too, wine was an aquired taste but drinkable with dinner. We found the staff very helpful and happy, not once did we feel hurried when eating, and I wasnt aware of any sittings as such and we never had to queue outside the restaurant.

Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful place, and we hired a car for 3 days (34€ a day) ok it was only a fiat 500 with a drop down roof, it was fun to drive. The drive along the nortwest coast to La Granja was amazing and we wished we had stopped to eat on the way there. Majorca is stunning and we cant wait to go back. The beach was literally 5 mins away, clean with beds and umberellas for about 12€ for the day, the sea is crystal clear with an abundance of fish which you can feed bread.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and I would go back again next year for two weeks this time.

For the second year running we return from a lovely holiday in a hotel which had been slated by some reviewers, which meant we arrived in some trepidation but departed very happy. I can only imagine that the hotel has taken on board some of the comments or some reviews were unnecessarily harsh- most likely a combination of both.

The hotel is large, very clean and ideally located just 5 minutes walk from the beach and a 20 minute stroll into the centre of Puerto de Pollensa. If you hire a car there is a spacious car park in front of the hotel and there is easy access onto the new bypass to Alcudia / Pollensa and beyond.

The pool area is one of the best we have enjoyed. Large pool with separate pool for toddlers and so many sunbeds that we never had to rush down at the crack of dawn to reserve one. There are also large garden areas with additional sunbeds for those who don't want to be next to the pool. There is a large poolside bar with plenty of covered seating if you want a bit of shade.

We had booked a sea and pool view twin room which for the views alone are worth the modest extra cost. We were upgraded to room 833 which is on the top floor adjacent to the stairs but with the added benefit of a very large balcony and plenty of room to spread out. The room had a fridge ( free) and a safe ( 3 euro deposit and 2 euros per night ). The bathroom was very large and modern with a bath and shower.

The maids cleaned every day but in a very basic way. We were on the balcony a couple of mornings when they came into clean and they were rarely there more than 5 minutes and essentially made the beds; emptied the bins; and re-arranged the towels.

That said the maids and all the staff were very friendly and courteous.

Many reviews criticised the restaurant but it was certainly no worse and in generally as good as most we have stayed at on an All Inclusive basis. The two tiered sittings have been dispensed with and you can go in any time between 18.30 and 21.00 pm. Breakfasts were a good choice of cooked or fruit ( avoid the porridge ) albeit the only variation on the cooked breakfasts was either fried eggs or scrambled. Lunch was excellent with plenty of salad and a variety of cooked options. The evening meal was much of the same. Only real disappointment was a lack of variety in the desserts albeit there was always plentiful fruit. One suggestion to the hotel would be perhaps a theme / gala night once a week as we have enjoyed at other hotels on A. In short the fare on offer was as you would expect from a 3 star all inclusive buffet style offering and anyone who wants grander things needs to pay the extra to stay at a hotel that meets their unrealistic expectations of a good 3 star.

The only real downside was the evening entertainment. During the day the Animation Team were excellent - very enthusiastic and inclusive but never pushy and worked tirelessly to ensure everyone had a good time. At night they were let down by a lack of investment by the hotel management. Standard fare was a min disco followed by them doing a quiz or bingo or a show of their own. If you see variety show advertised, don't get too excited- it is just the animation team miming badly to songs! We stayed 11 nights and there were only 3 professional acts and in short they were all very poor standard.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday far more than we expected given the poor reviews and if you go with appropriate expectations, you will have a good time.

Room Tip: On a Sunday morning get reception to book you a taxi to Pollensa Town ( 10m euros each way) and enjo...

Just returned from a lovely week at this hotel. As others we were concerned about recent bad reviews concerning restaurant and food. There are no longer 2 sittings for dinner, you can go anytime between 6.30 and 9.00, always plenty of room. Food is always edible, no where near as bad as some people are making out. Ok the bacon is a bit odd, but it tastes alright. Nice wine, beer and soft drinks freely on tap at dinner time.
The hotel and pool areas are kept spotlessly clean, always plenty of sun loungers despite some sad people who are up with the sun claiming one!
The animation team work hard if you like that kind of thing or if you have young children with you. One criticism would be that the music is much too loud in the evenings, you can even here it on the seafront!, although it does finish about 11.30.
We will definately return here.

Room Tip: higher floor gives better view

We've just returned form a 10 day stay at The Pollensa Park from the 8-18 June. Let me take this opportunity, to apologise to anyone, who read my review, posted last year on 22 June 2013 and decided that everything here, was spot on and therefore booked to stay here, only to be disgusted with the quality of food.
It was a first visit last year for my husband and I.We were really pleased with the food. This year, we were so disappointed with the quality of food, the lack of choice and on three occasions, in a ten day period, having to queue up outside the restaurant for our evening meal as there was no rooml. We were on the second sitting from 8-9 pm. It was so poorly organised that it was 15 mins before we reached the door, you'd think the staff on duty would be understanding, you'd be wrong! They raced about snatching up plates to make sure that people were out of the restaurant by 9pm, regardless of how late we'd got in.Pandemonium!
The hotel has changed hands from Cabot Hotels to Fergus Hotels this year.
The Cheapest food is used here. Breakfast cereal, choice of three, Sugar Puffs, Cornflakes, that felt like putty in the mouth once the milk was added and the Muesli? (like fine dust, talcum powder consistency). We filled up on Toast, & Boiled eggs. If cakes and pastries are your thing, you'll be okay. Cooked breakfast, Bacon? I don't think so! Sloppy scrambled eggs, cheap greasy sausage, Fried eggs, fine, and service with a smile from the lady serving them. The usual, processed cheese and ham and some fruit.
We stayed half-board plus, we gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and turned up each evening with a hopeful, open mind, as to what awaited us. Last year, we gave our room number in at breakfast and evening meal. This year it was a haphazard affair. Scouting about for a table. Fewer staff on duty. Some of them, waitresses in particular, were downright surly. We'd found a table, went for a starter, which usually for us, ended up being the main meal. When platters became empty, on more than one occasion, there was a distinct hesitation to bring out more food. I made sure to ask, if there was something labelled, that I wanted and it wasn't on the buffet table. I had Pate and salad one evening, as a main meal, with not a cracker in sight, as soon as I asked, a tray appeared, then a flock of guests, who'd noticed, the refilled tray came up, to help themselves, I can only presume, they were too polite to ask for the items missing. I felt like Oliver Twist, however, not asking for more, but where was it? Trays of grated carrot and beetroot, bowls of lettuce and tomatoes and the tiniest gherkins, smaller than the ones used in cocktails were in abundance, one night a bowl of tuna, other nights a savoury tartlet or pastry, what about chicken? or cooked meat of a decent quality to go with the salad? Chips every night, sliced sauteed potatoes, hard as rock. Rubbish! Rubbish! Rubbish! Fatty, Gristley, Casserole.
We cobbled together 3 hot meals in ten days. Swordfish one night, Roast Chicken leg and last but not least, a Turkey breast steak, cooked on the griddle.
The management should be ashamed of themselves. Beautiful Mallorcan Cuisine ignored, in favour of cheap and nasty grub. Just once, to have sampled, A Spanish Omelette, Paella (not cheap, stodgy, mixed veg and rice) or Tumbet. You've let holiday makers down and spoiled
the reputation of this hotel!
On the plus side, since last year, the dining room furniture, has all been replaced with modern tables and chairs, no table linen, just place mats. (saving on the laundering of table linen) extra tables and white upholstered chairs have appeared in the bar area. I can't help but wonder, is this cost cutting exercise being done at the expense of quality to re-furnishthe hotel, and in a couple of years, maybe, the hotel will move up a star or two and re-invent itself?
Well, sadly, until it does, or we hear or see good reports on The Pollensa Park & Spa, we will neither recommend or visit it again.
The saying "You get what you pay for," comes to mind. Yes, the hotel is a reasonably priced 3 star plus and all the other facilities are as good as last year, but dear holidaymaker, as we did, you'll need to eat out if this food situation isn't improved. So the holiday, then costs more, so not so reasonable after all!! A very sad and dissatisfied customer. :-(

Room Tip: High Floors with a Pool/Sea view, are best as the sun is on this side during the day. Cooler shaded...

Dear Margaret M

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding our hotel.
We are very sorry we did not meet your expectations.
Just an update to confirm all guests that on june the 9th we started a new time in our hotel with a new General Manager, a new Front Office Manager and a new Chef. All the changes need some time but since then the Restaurant has a completely big variety where you can choose what you eat, definitely much more variety that what you are describing. And about the dinner sittings, as you know, we put them off on june the 11th, leaving the restaurant open from 18:30 to 21:00
We invite all guests to experience themselves in our Hotel FERGUS Pollensa Park & Spa.

My friend and I have just returned from 5 nights at the Pollensa Park and we were extremely happy with our time there. We were all inclusive and had a nice room with a large balcony overlooking the pool with a great sea view. We ate breakfast and lunch in the restaurant where the food was extremely well cooked and presented. Whilst there were not lots of choices, there was always a fish and meat option with plenty of salad, one or two potato options, bread, choices of deserts and ice creams for both lunch and dinner and we were always able to find something we liked. Combined with red, white or rose very drinkable wine on tap what more could you ask for given the price. Whilst quite busy there were always sunbeds available and these were of good quality and not broken as is so often the case. The hotel is extremely well managed with plenty of staff who are very low key but you can tell by looking around at how clean all areas are and whenever you walked in to the restaurant at any meal time you never had to look for a table as, as soon as a table because empty it was cleaned and re-laid. There are several local restaurants directly outside of the hotel or alternatively a few minutes walk will take you to the lovely sea front of Pollensa. After an all inclusive day, we usually had pre dinner drinks in the hotel and ate at a nearby restaurant (this is not due to a problem at the hotel, we had always planned to do this as we still felt that the cost of all inc was still worth it). Often we were still early enough to head back to the hotel and take a coffee and brandy up to the room so that we could sit on the balcony and listen to the entertainment and look at the lovely view. Would definitely recommend this and would return. Both hotel and resort were great.

Room Tip: Sea view - don't go though if you do not want to hear the entertainment as rooms overlooking the...

when we arrived at the hotel I made sure that a disabled room (I'm in a wheelchair) which was requested at booking but the tour operator hadn't said anything to the hotel! the receptionist (Ariadna) was very helpful and while we went for lunch she managed to sort out a room for us- it wasn't a disabled room but a family room which was big enough for a wheelchair and also a walk in shower which we used a patio chair for me to use. the hotel also had ramps where you needed them and a few disabled toilets which I could actually use! the maids came every day- which came as a lovely surprise as usually the room is missed at least once a week. the people in the dining room also did everything to assist me and the food was catered for every need. I would definitely go back
