“A return is a definite consideration.”
Reviewed 3 June 2012

I spent 4 nights here from 29th May - 1st June 2012 as a lone traveller. I'm 56yrs old and didn't require anything flash, noisy or intruding and got exactly what I wished for. I was in a twin room on the top floor with a sideways view of the beach and sea, and sun on my balcony from 2pm till 6pm, where I chilled out with coffee and whiskey and being able to smoke to my heart's content. This was in fact only possible because I went prepared with extension lead with plenty of sockets to power some low level sounds, phone charger, electric toothbrush, my own kettle with cup, spoon and tea & coffee facitlities. No television but I didn't miss it.. and free air-conditioning when needed, operated by a remote control. A couple of short bursts to combat the heat from time to time were just a god-send. The bathroom was comfortable and well set out and functioned perfectly.
The room was cleaned and tidied every day and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is a handy small lift that made a big difference when returning from town which is only 15 mins at meandering pace. All in all, an extemely pleasant stay. I didn't notice anyone under the age of 50 whilst there so something to bear in mind if you're looking for something more lively but it was perfect for me and will certainly consider returning next year.

Room Tip: 318 to 316 for sunny afternoons and evenings

First of all we arrived late on Monday 21st May and were surprised after reading negative reviews what an excellant Hotel it is.
The Staff were friendly ,polite and very helpful.
Although we arrived late we were greeted with 2 plates of food which we were grateful for..
We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor , it was clean and tidy with a part sea view and was quiet which we asked for . Although the hotel is geared to the older generation we found the the guests were chatty and friendly and we felt not out of place.
The food was excellant despite reading previous negative reviews saying it was bad .
The restraunt staff were very proffesional at what they did and couldnt do enough for you.
Great Locatoin right on the beach and a nice walk from the town
We will be staying there again in the future and recomend this hotel
Would actually say it should be 3 star Hotel
Dont be misled by the bad reviews

Having enjoyed our stay last year at Hotel Romantic, we decided to return this year and again, found it a very enjoyable stay. There are some nagative reviews here that are hard to understand as others have pointed out, it is a 2 star hotel. All things considered we prefer this to some of the 3/4 strar hotels we have stayed in.
For a peaceful, inexpensive break and always something to enjoy at mealtimes it cannot be beaten.

We have just arrived back again from this hotel and I am very pleased to write a very good review.
There is all you need here for a holiday in the sun, and so close to the beach and town.
The staff were all the same and I understand its been that way for years.Theres a peaceful atmosphere here and if thats what you want from a holiday this is the place for you. If you need to be entertained then go to the sister hotel Pollensa Park just around the corner.
There are no tvs in the rooms but the one in the lounge can be put on, for example it was on for the Chesea match but in Spanish.
We are going to book again next year and guess what we will return again to this very hotel.

Room Tip: If you want to pay an extra charge you can book one of the sea front rooms, otherwise the rooms are...

Just returned from another lovely holiday in Puerto Pollensa, staying at the Hotel Romantic. My husband and I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years (and no, we are not pensioners!), we have always been made to feel welcome and looked after. The situation of the hotel is perfect for walking the nearby hills, spending time on the lovely beaches or visiting nearby towns - the bus service is very good and inexpensive - if you don't want to hire a car.

The hotel food is good, contrary to other reviews on this site, there is always a good choice of starters - cold or hot, at least 3 or 4 choices of main course - meats, fish, vegetarian, and vegetables to accompany. There are usually 3 or 4 choices of desserts to choose from. The food is well cooked, tasty and there is usually something for those who wish to try something typically majorcan. What you have to consider is that this is a 2 star rated hotel, and for that the food is fine. If you want 5 star cuisine - then stay in a 5 star hotel!

The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate, always clean, beds made and rooms tidied daily.

All in all if you want to get away for a relatively inexpensive break, this is a great little hotel.

We have been going to the Romantic for years, as have many of the people we met there but will not be returning this year. Last year the quality of food was a disgrace! We spoke to the staff about this and they had had lots of complaints.
The hotel is clean, well situated across from the beach and the staff are friendly and efficient but economising on food is a big mistake! The prices have been the same for a few years and we would have expected them to rise a bit. Perhaps if they had, they would not have had to serve such dreadful food!
So, it's back to the Uyal this year!

Room Tip: We always asked for a high room, at the back, facing the mountains so were away from the noisy road...

I stayed here for a week in early May and just back. We booked this for the location alone, although a first time at this hotel, I have stayed at this resort before and believe if you are looking for somewhere slower paced and relaxing, with lovely scenery then this is the resort. The hotel itself is set in a superb location with the white sandy beach just across the road. It all looks very nice and is as hotels go quite small. There are nine balcony rooms directly facing the beach, we stayed in the 1st floor far right. Which I must say had a very good view. The room was quite spacious and everything was very clean following a recent refit. Staff where friendly and helpful except the night porter but only met him on leaving. We booked a last minute deal and had half board, the breakfast was very good help yourself style with English breakfast served every day along with continental, cereals and fruit. Coffee tea and juices all buffet style and freely flowing. The evening meal was adequate but nothing special, but then again nothing to really moan about except when you have a curry there was no rice. OK that was a small moan, but apart from one night we ate in every night. Evening time drinks are extra, including juice and coffee. There was a small issue with water leaking on a couple of days, but I think this may have either been from the deluge of a storm we had on the first day or the air conditioner drains blocking after there first use, yes the rooms are equipped with air con at no extra charge to use. There are also safes in the rooms for about 14 euros a week. The rooms were tided every day you just leave a hanger on the door knob when you want it done, the maids are around between 09:00-15:00 hrs one day we accidently tested this by going to the beach and forgetting to hang our hanger, we came back at 14:00hr hung it out and in the evening returned to a sparkling clean room, they even mop the floors. There are no TV 's in the room or a kettle, something I at first did miss, but by day two had no issue with no TV. The hotel is very close (10 min slow walk) from the main town and marina, which is well worth the walk and if you head out the back you can soon find yourself walking up steep hills taking in the stunning scenery or leisurely walking across the beach or even on a Wednesday going to the Pollensa Market, There is no pool but you can use the sister hotel pool which is about four hundred metre away and also has entertainment. All in all the hotel was very good for what we were looking for, which was a base to explore from. Most of the customers are yearly regulars and at this time of year more on the very mature side. I would not recommend this hotel to a young couple or a family with children, but for mature couples or even single mature travellers this is not a bad place to go.

Room Tip: go for a front sea view, if you get a chance one on the left, looking towards the front, as ours was...
