“Great for a family holiday, not so much for couples”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

This hotel is in a really nice part of Puerto Pollensa. It is quiet and relaxed and close to the best part of the beach in the area. It is a few minutes walk to a supermarket and lots of restaurants and shops are close by.

The staff at reception were not super friendly, and didnt speak much English in my experience. There was no explanation of how long they planned to keep passports etc. But I can overlook that. I have read a lot of complaints about the cleaning service, and I have no problem with the infrequency of it (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) but I did take issue with the quality. There was no evidence the cleaners had been there until I saw fresh towels in the bathroom. It seemed like new towels was all that was provided.

The hotel is definitely geared to families. I didnt eat there, go to the bar or see the entertainment as I had no interest. It was a typical Spanish hotel in that all sunbeds were occupied with towels by 9am and no sign of actual people. Thankfully, we were doing stuff during the day and didn't need the sunbeds, but it was frustrating to see.

If you don't have children, you will use the hotel for your bed and that's it! The beds were uncomfortable and the kitchen small. I would not fancy actually trying to prepare meals for a family in there. 2 small rings and very little storage.

I would recommend for families, but for couples - look elsewhere.

Dear Orla,

thank you very much for your review and for taking the time to write it. We always appreciate it to hear about the experiences our guests have made in one of our establishments. For your information, your passport you always can pick the following day of your arrival. We only need it to close your booking.
Your are right about the frequency of our cleaning staff, but they do a lot more than just change the towels. All of the apartments will be completly cleaned three times a week.

Thanks again for your review and we hope too see you back in Puerto Pollensa soon!

Kind regards

Hi, just returned back yesterday from a week stay half board. with my hubby and 2 daughters 3 yr old & 7 yr old. they loved the swimming pools, big blue slide and bouncy castle. entertainment at night. disco every night. beach 2 mins away. rooms were a bit dated. the best thing to do is to hire a car. We only ate out a few times. la mania. great for the kids, a bouncy castle round the back and marinellas looked nice right on the beach but could never get in. they are if you go to the right whewn you get to the end of the road.
and if you turn left and you carry on walking to get to the pine walk. square which is nice. so overall a great time by us all. x

Had a great holiday in Puerto Pollensa and Villa Concha. On arrival my husband and I had been allocated an apartment with two floors. It was lovely but as my husband has some mobility problems, the stairs to the bedroom and bathroom were quite steep and could have been difficult for him. The reception staff were great and sympathetic to our problem. They immediately changed us to an apartment on the 2nd floor before we had stared to unpack. Although this had a rather high step into the living area and in the bathroom, it was a much better than the two storey accommodation. Although the living areas are in need of a little tlc, the public areas are lovely. The breakfasts were super. Great choice for all! Even though our room overlooked the pools, it was not too noisy and everyone was having fun! If I had any criticism it would be that the wifi was rather intermittent. I would definitely go back!!

Me, my husband and our 3 year old stayed at the Villaconcha in July B&B for a week. Apartments were clean, staff were friendly and location was perfect - under 5 minute walk to the beach & nearest supermarket.
Our 3 year old was in and out of the pool all day and loved the slides. Breakfast was of good quality and there was lots of choice - good for kids!

Would definitely return & recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break with small children.

Me, the hubby and our 2 boys (8&6) have just got back from a week at Villa Concha and had a lovely time! If you enjoy spending time around the swimming pool, then this is a great hotel! Not too big or busy, but the pools are interesting enough to keep everyone entertained.

We stayed B&B and really enjoyed the buffet breakfasts. The coffee is excellent, as is the range of pastries, cold meats & cheeses, fresh fruit (absolutely gorgeous!) and cooked items.

We stayed in room 206 (2nd floor) and had a nice large apartment. We entered into a little foyer area with 4 doors leading off into the kitchen, bathroom, main bedroom and the living room/second bedroom. The layout was excellent, but I should mention that if my kids had been toddlers I'd have worried about the large step that ran through the bathroom and foyer area.

As others have mentioned, the cleanliness isn't top notch. But it is ok if you're not panicky about seeing the odd stray hair! The apartment could definitely have done with a spruce up -a few cracked tiles etc, but generally speaking, it was fine. The air-conditioning was superb and the equipment provided was good.

The staff were really friendly and work such long hours -always with a smile though!

We ate out at different restaurants each night and found Tolo's (Italian) to be excellent!!! We ended up there 4 nights. It's only 5 mins walk from the hotel and really good quality food (and sangria!).

Also, if you fancy a day out somewhere, get the No.2 bus from the sea-front to Alcudia and visit the Hidropark water-park. Absolutely brilliant and not too far away!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 206 (2nd floor) and had a nice large apartment. We entered into a little foyer are...

There were 7 of us in our party and we booked 3, 1 bedroom apartments. I was sharing with my 2 sons, so they had the bedroom and I slept in the living room. The sofa's are actually single beds and so are normal size and very comfortable. The size of the apartment was ideal for the 3 of us. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate in once. There was a TV with English channels. We were situated at the back of the hotel and it was quiet.

I agree that the fixtures and fittings could be updated as they are a bit tired but it was very clean and comfortable.

The staff were friendly and approachable.

We had breakfast everyday. There's plenty of choice. I would recommend the freshly made omelettes.

We didn't use the pool although they looked very nice. The pools were extremely busy and the loungers were reserved very early in the morning so it was almost impossible to get a bed. We used the nearby beach instead.

Villa Concha is in an ideal location - 5 mins walk from a beautiful sandy beach, 15 mins from the town square.

I would definitely go back

I have read a lot of the reviews from other travellers, as I am sure everyone does, and I think they are all correct. We were here with our daughter and grandchildren: the first time travelling abroad with them. We chose Villaconcha because it looked like a very nice, family friendly place near to the beach and facilities in Puerto Pollensa which we have visited often before. And that's exactly what it is. I am sure you will have read the write up about the facilities. They are all there, work very well, the children enjoyed them very much, they are safe and the whole environment is safe. Being set In a largely residential area there isn't the pressure of the touristy areas which added to the relaxed feeling.

The larger slide wasn't open all the time as they had a lifeguard watching what was going on. When we arrived and asked when it was open they opened it for us then and there so our grandchildren had a personal play on the big slide.

Yes the decor is a bit dated and wouldn't hurt for an update. However it did what it said on the tin. The shower showered. The refrigerator cooled. The cupboards (albeit dark wood) stored out clothes. Don't expect London boutique in a family place in Majorca.

It was the first time that we have done half board with family. It worked really well. Breakfast had a good range of cereals, fruit, freshly cooked eggs and omelettes, coffee was very good (particularly as it was from machines which often don't work well) meat, cheese, and hot food as well. The evening buffet was also good with a variety of salads, appetisers, two "main course" options together with grilled meats or fish, prepared while you wait, with FRESHLY COOKED pasta and sauces.the drinks were good value, one cannot complain at a bottle of Cava for €9.

The Children's Entertainers worked hard with a nice programme aimed for children up to about eight years old I would say and looked after them very enthusiastically.

All of the staff were very friendly - watch out for Juan (I think) he moves around the bar at the speed of light and I am sure can serve four people at the same time while taking orders from waiters in tables. Remarkable.

All in all its a friendly place that is the right size. It's not too small to be imposing neither is it too big to overwhelm. We were comfortable with the children wandering off with new found friends.

Well done villa Concha. We will be back.
