Not bad, but probably wouldnt go back pretty much somes it up - it wasnt terrible but we'd try somewhere else instead.

Pros -

Very near the beach(visible from most rooms)
Generally quiet
Good pool area with plenty of sun beds
TV with quite a few UK stations if you need your fix ! But no Eurosport so I couldnt watch the Tour de France. Quite a lot of cyclists in this area so this isnt such a daft mention!

Cons -

20 mins walk from the main restaurant area - though there is a bus for about a euro but you need to check the times as they arent super frequent
Our room (althought this may have been just our room) was a bit noisy. Bins emptied early in the morning by a bin lorry every day, the bar was right below us so people using that or making noise by the pool table till at least midnight. Our fridge was obviously on its last legs and let out a noise like a door being slammed every hour or so which woke us up so many times Ive lost count!
Local supermarket expensive(so walk down the road a bit)
Beach expensive - 11 Euros for 2 loungers and a brolly, what a rip off! Ok this isnt the hotels fault.
Shower a bit weak.

Overall -

So generally it did the job, the beds were singles - we asked for a double. There was a good kitchen area if you wanted to properly self cater. The aircon worked pretty well although didnt really work in the bedroom due to it being a seperate room. The location was quieter but further away - this may be ideal for you - I can see that maybe some of the other hotels could be much noiser although this is not a disco lager lager resort. The decor felt like it was pretty original ie 20 years old or so - not a disaster but not fantastic.

Hope this helps someone anyway - you wont go wrong going here, but consider what else is out there even if maybe its a few quid extra?

Just had the most amazing break! Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful place! Beaches and peace!
Hobby Club Apartments are small and very clean - we stayed with our two children aged 16 and 13 it was a little cramped but was a good base! The apartments have a small bar and you can buy snacks which are good value

The pool is quiet and safe! along with sunbeds for all!

We will be returning next year to Puerto Pollensa and definately will book the Aparments Hobby Club for there location and cleaniness

I agree with most of the reviews on here about Hobby Club. Clean, good value, good location etc.
I would just add that we were disappointed with the level of service at reception. There were 3 different receptionists and the one who checked us in was friendly and helpful. However, when we needed help the other 2 were not helpful. First, we had only about 5 hangers for 3 of us and as there were about 8 spare rings on the rail I asked at reception for some more. This was written in a little book but the extra hangers never materialised. Second, halfway through the week we wanted to change our towels so left them in the bath as requested. We we came back at 5.00pm that day and found we had only been given towels for 2 people. I asked for another at Reception but the receptionist could only respond "I don't know". We left it til the morning (my daughter making do with a hand towel) and told the same receptionist who we had spoken to about the hangers. Again our request was written in "the book" and we went and sat by the pool (so I could check when the maids had been into our room). I saw the receptionist talking to the maids later and assumed our request had been passed on. I went back to the room at lunchtime after the maids had been and no extra towel had been left so I had to find them futher down the floor and get one myself.
These were annoyances but odviously didn't spoil the holiday. The weather nearly did, but a couple of good days at the end of the week made things better. I note it's 90f now (one week later!)

Arrived late afternoon after collecting hire car from the airport. This was not much more expensive than paying for transfers for the 4 of us and turned out to be a good decision. We had asked for a top floor room, overlooking the pool with sea views and this is exactly what we were allocated. Room 313 in the central block. Everything was clean, furnishings a little worn but no complaints. The kitchen was adequately equipped with hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and all esssential kitchen tools . The only bad thing about the apartment was sitting on the uncomfortable sofa which doubled as 2 single beds. The pool was clean, plenty osf sunbeds and umberellas, the beach across the road was beautiful.
Unfortunalely we chose a week when the weather was bad so overall our holiday was disappointing. Luckily we had the car so were able to go off exploring in the rain instead of spending the days on the beach as planned!
With 2 teenage boys it would have been good to have free wif at Hobby Club. It cost us quite a lot in drinks and snacks for them to sit in a nearby cafe with free wifi.
We ate out every night, 6 out of 7 meals were good the only disappointment was our last night when we thought we had chosen well - a bbq restaurant in the square, very busy but food and service very poor. Favorite places - Lemon Lounge just before Pine Walk for pre dinner drinks, and IL Angelo small italian restaurant on side street near the square. Overall a good base for a holiday, would def go back but would like a guarantee on the weather!

My wife, daughter and I stayed here in May. We tend to stay nearer the Pine Walk area of Pollenca when we go so this was a pleasant change. The accommodation is not the Ritz, but it presents a good, clean, friendly location with a clean pool and ample sunbeds. The one side of the pool is in constant shade so I imagine this could cause problems in busier periods, but we found more space than we needed. We stayed in a ground floor room facing the sea, marvellous view to wake up to but it had it's drawbacks with traffic noise.
The beach is 20 yards away and is truly excellent. There are two or three Restaurants within 40 metres of the gates that provide good food to cater for any tastes and pockets. A walk of about 1000 yards gets you smack in the middle of Pollenca opposite its harbour. There are hundreds of places to eat and drink at,, you wont be dissapointed. If you just want a cheap drink and admire the setting sun over a magnificent mountain, then try the Bar El Ancla which is 100 metres from your door, two glasses of decent wine and a view to dream about for under 3 Euro's!!

I might not say this place is a gem but there isn't much wrong with it. Clean, tidy, friendly enough, not too long a walk along the prom to the main bit at PP (1,400 yards), the super beach is across the not too busy road. Wasn’t too fussy for the food there was on offer - snack/fast food. A good base camp.

PP itself has is a fairly busy wee place with a decent mix of restaurants and bars.

We’d go back to PP and the Hobby Club.

We stayed here for a week at the end of September. The transfer took approximately 1hr. Upon arrival, check in was fairly prompt. We got room 214. It was in the central block overlooking the pool.

Kitchen/Living room
The room was better than i expected. The kitchen was fairly basic. Two hobs, a microwave, toaster, fridge with a small freezer compartment and a 15" LCD TV. There was no kettle, however this wasn't an issue for us. The was a table and four chairs and a movable coffee table. The TV had 14 channels, with a mix of Spanish and English. It had BBC1, Channel 5, ITV (Scottish TV), BBC3, Film 4 and Scuzz! There was a rather comfortable sofa. The balcony had two chairs and a small table along with a small folding washing line.

The bathroom was of a good finish. Surprisingly all tiles and fittings were in place (somewhat unusual for Spanish apartments i have found). there was a bath with a good shower attachment. A sink, toilet and bidet. The bathroom was equipped with a hair dryer, mini shampoos/soaps and cups. Towels were also provided. These could be changed each day except Tuesday if i remember right when there is no maid service.

We had two single beds wih a dividing cabinet. 30 seconds changed this into a double. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows. Spare blankets were provided and came in handy. There is a dresser and mirror also. There is plenty of storage space in the wardrobe including four drawers. The safe is in there. The wardrobe came equipped with more than ample hangers.

Pros: Clean, tidy, has all that you would need and is very comfortable
Cons: Do take ear plugs. Despite solid walls, the noise does travel. My other half slept fine without ear plugs, i needed them.

The swimming pool
There was no shortage of beds by the pool. Maybe as it was the end of the summer season this would explain why. The pool was big enough and clean. However it was very cold. In 7 days i was in it three times. One side of teh pool got no sun at all during the day, but the other three had plenty. There is a small pool for the kids. Beside the pool is a small playground for kids. At reception there is a small bar that also does light meals. I never tried the food, but i did sample a drink. No complaints there. Between the pool and reception there is a pool table and an air hockey table. When someone played the air hockey at night it was clearly audible, but thankfully there was never any noise beyonds 9pm when i was there.

The Hobby Club is near the outer lmits of Pollenca. It is a good 15 minute stroll to the main strip. This stroll was great in fine weather. We did have a day of bad weather which resulted in us using a taxi. It was 5.50 Euro one way. The beach is fantastic. Clean, clear water like i have never seen and again no shortage of sunbeds. The sunbeds are 11 Euro a day for the beds and shade. There are plenty of lifeguards dotted along the beaches. At the edge of the town is a Spansih Navy base. Each day at least one or two of the flying boats would be flying. It was fascinating to watch as they flew over the hotel at around 200 metres. There was also an exercise with oher aircraft. Again i and many others found it great to watch, those who like it quieter may not. Though this never went on for more than an hour each day with the exception of one day when it lasted about two hours.

When you stroll along the front be careful not to limit yourself to the restaurants at the front. At times you pay for the location. Go one or two streets behind. You will find some great restaurants and safe a couple of Euros per dish. It all addes up. For eats i would strongly advise the following places:-
Playa Torre
