A beautiful setting, watched sunrise over the bay each morning. This hotel is really unique....
It faces one of the finest beaches I have seen in the Med with a backdrop of mountains, not a high rise or crane in site! It is very quiet here, no swimming pool although you can use the one in the sister hotel and the evening entertainment ended at 10.30pm. We then retired to the veranda which resembles a typical Spainish villa, and had a nightcap looking out at the lights of the harbour and villages along the coastline. Food good, hotel clean, staff friendly. My only criticism which is hard to find is the music played in the bar and outside verander was the Bee Gees, Beatles and Gilbert O sullivan. I requested the Gypsy Kings or anything Spanish they said they didnt have any. Management please note ambience and atmosphere is as memorable as the hotel experience, please buy some new CD's!!!

Room Tip: Sea view balcony rooms vary, some with small Juliet style, some with waist high railed fence,request...

We have just returned from the Hotel Pollentia in Puerto Pollensa, and because of the many negative reviews we read before going there, I would like to add a positive one. Bear in mind that this is a three star and not a four star hotel.

The Hotel is in a fantastic position, it is facing the lovely pollensa bay with super views from the front of the Hotel. It is about 20 minutes walk into the main shopping area, but for us that was a plus as it was good to have the walk. The Hotel has beautiful common areas with a lovely veranda at the front on which to sit and chat. The bedrooms were adequate, and very clean as were the bathrooms, they had plenty of storage and a plug near the dressing table. Take a kettle as there is no tea making facilities. The front bedrooms have balconies facing the bay, but the back bedrooms do not have balconies and a poor view.I gather that single people have no option but to have these rooms at the back. I had read on trip advisor that 301 was a good room, e-mailed the Hotel before going to request it and when we arrived we were told that it had been possible for us to have the room. There is a road between the Hotel and the sea, which can be busy at times, but it did not bother us and we slept like logs all the time we were there. We stayed half board and thought the food was good. There was a choice of hot or cold breakfast, and the evening meal always had a choice of meat, fish, pasta or paella with plenty of salad and veg. There is no pool at the Hotel, but you can use the pool at the Hotel Uyal almost next door. The evening entertainment is not every night but it was good, and again, you can go the the entertainment at the Hotel Uyal. There is a reliable bus service, with a bus stop almost outside the Hotel. The staff were all super, knowledgable, friendly and helpful. If we were going to Majorca again, we would certainly return to this lovely little Hotel.

Room Tip: We had room 301 which is on the second floor, but I think the top floor is the quietest and if you e...

Best thing about hotel is the view across the road to the beach, which can be seen from the front outside terrace. Also terrace bar for snacks, although we were only offered ham and cheese, or ham, or cheese, so not much choice. Restaurant food was good, with plenty of choice. All the staff were polite and helpful, and the place was kept clean.

Comfortable indoor lounge with settees and armchairs, although only one small table indoors suitable for cards/board games. Not suitable for disabled guests or those with walking difficulties as about 12 steep steps up into the hotel, and steps down into the dining room, and no ramps. No swimming pool, but use of pool at hotel couple of doors away.

Hotel about 20 minutes walk to centre (or on bus from ouside hotel). Small lake/nature reserve 5 minutes walk away going towards the centre. The only evening entertainment seemed to be at The Palms cabaret bar, which had tribute acts on each night. This was in the side road from promenade leading up to the Pollensa Park Hotel. As it was the start of the season, there was no entertainment at our hotel, but one act booked for the following week.

On arrival, the hotel was extremely cold, having been closed up for the winter. Our two single bedrooms were freezing, and the heating was only giving out cold air. We complained and were given extra blankets and an electric radiator to plug in. The rooms did, however, warm up later in the week as the outside temperature improved.

Our two single bedrooms were at the back of the hotel, with no balconies, but view over the fields and hills in the background. They were really small, very dingy and dark, with old furniture which needed upgrading. The bathrooms were tiny, and you banged your knees on the bath if you weren't careful. It was impossible to turn on the bath taps or shower without actually standing in the bath to reach the taps. If you wanted to dry your hair in the bathroom, it was impossible to get a chair through the door so you had to stand up. Also the toilet was right against the wall, and you had to sit sideways to avoid banging your elbows on the wall or the toilet roll holder.

I would not stay at this hotel again as the single rooms were very depressing, and it was a long walk into the town.

Room Tip: Don't go if you want single rooms. If double/twin ask for room with balcony at front of hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pollentia, cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for.I would suggest you pay for a sea view with balcony otherwise you will end up in a cell facing the back of the hotel behind and with no balcony !!!!
Our room was basic, clean with a wonderful sea view,we took a kettle and tea bags and bought milk each day from the local shop.
Food was unusal some days eg. braised steak and pasta.... bacon every other day for breakfast.
The holiday makers tended to be older not many families.Think this is because there was no pool although you can use the pool in the sister hotel next door, which was more lively and this is where most of the evening entertainment took place.

Room Tip: Pay for the view and balcony. Take a kettle

Stayed here late Sept 2011, booked the week before, therefore little room choice/availability; hotel iis in perfect spot overlooking the sea and we enjoyed fantastic weather - which was what we'd gone for, after all - hired road bikes for two days from local recommended bike shop (pollensacycling.com), swam in calm seas in the bay, ran along front before breakfast most days. . . fabulous. Only let down slightly by the dowdy small room which was located on a side of the hotel. We decided this was probably acceptable, given the last minute booking and reasonable price, but a good thing we didn't have to spend a lot of time in it! Quite a depressing and dark room, although ito be fair, it was always cleaned properly and had a more than adequate and refurbished bathroom. It was also reasonably free from traffic noise, which might have been a little disturbing in the (undoubtedly better) front facing rooms with balconies. Staff were polite and welcoming, and the public areas of the hotel very well maintained and pleasant. Choice of food was good and value for money generally. Puerto Pollensa is a very pleasant town, relatively unspoilt, good for a relatively quiet family or couples/active holiday, excellent as a cycling base, but not recommended for anyone who seeks 'serious' nightlife.

Room Tip: From other comments, it has been a frequent problem to be certain of being allocated one of the bett...

Everything about the hotel was very good for the money I paid. It was clean, the staff were very friendly, the food was relatively good and it was located in a very good position. What let the hotel down was my single room. As a female solo travellor I spend most of my time in the evenings reading in my room. I could have cried when I saw my room at the Hotel Pollentia. There was no balcony and the view from the small window was overlooking a noisy contraption which I presume was something to do with the air-conditioning. Do not take any notice of some travel agents details which states that some rooms overlook the mountains as they are more like mounds of earth!!!

Apart from the room having no balcony and an aweful view it was also very drab with inappropriate furniture. There was no dressing table or even anything to write on except for a sort of huge desk monstrosity which when I tried to put the lid down to write on I thought it was going to drop on the floor. Needless to say I put it straight back up.

The only light in the room (apart from the bathroom) was above the bed, making evening reading very difficult) and also the air-conditioning was very loud and I do not think it was working properly.

After saying all this I do think it depends on what room you get at this hotel so make sure you ask for a balcony and a seaview!!!.

Wendy Griffiths - Birmingham

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony and full sea-view
