“Another enjoyable stay”
Reviewed 20 July 2010

Our second visit to this hotel. Staff really friendly, remembered us from last year
Paid extra for sea view room on top floor, next to one we had last year
They seem to have improved the water supply, ample hot water for shower/bath
Although the rooms are small, the food is good and well cooked and there are plenty of negative comments about this hotel we like the friendliness, beach across the road, good maid service.

We stayed for the second time at Pollentia Hotel in June and thought it just as lovely as the first time. The hotel is right on the sea front where the beach is large and with plenty of sunloungers. We requested the same room (411) as we found it ideal last time. It was quite spacious with comfortable beds and are kept very clean, it was on the end of the building, the down side is that it only had a view of one side of the bay, the plus sides are that our balcony was totally private and being on the end we didn’t have rooms on both sides potentially making noise. The balconies on the front of the building have beautiful panoramic views but are not so private.

The reception staff were friendly and spoke very good English.
On your first night you are allocated a table for the evening meal (you can choose outside or inside), this means that, whatever time you decide to go for dinner you never have to search for an empty table. The food was very good, it was hot, good quality and a reasonable selection.

It is a bit of a walk into the centre of the resort but it is a pleasant walk and was not a problem. The road outside was fairly busy but didn’t find the road noise a problem. There was a bus stop nearly outside which has a regular bus service to Alcudia, Peurto Alcudia and Can Picafort.

have been visiting porto pollensia for over 20 years...

This hotel seems very classy from the outside and even in the reception..beware the rooms are very small and very cold no rugs...The food was terrible..l don't really know where to begin....I was so looking forward to going down to dinner and having an enjoyable evening...it just was ruined by the standard of food...one lot of veg..most nights yestedays veg reinvented some way...breakfast was ok.but ever other day the ham served the night before was served in butter ......bacon was served every other day..but that was awfull..so if your whole holiday includes decent food this is not the place for you...try the Illa dor more expensive but you will not be buying food on top of your half board..

The hotel is in a terrific location, just across the road from the beach and 10 mins to the Pine Walk. Rooms at the front have a lovely balcony, but I would have been very disappointed if I had been allocated one of the rooms at the back with no view and a very sad outlook.
The staff are very friendly with the exception of one unhelpful man on reception. On checking out, he just took the key and turned away - that sums up his attitude throughout and customer care training would be useful. Also we had booked a double and received a twin - when querying this he said 'That is a double. Two beds' ie 'Tough'. Beds are not great.
Clientele at this time of year are generally older and this hotel will suit the more mature couple

booked this hotel for our honeymoon and on arrival it was supposed to be arranged by THOMAS COOK that we got champagne and fruit and a good 'honeymoon' suite/rooom. We arrived, no porters, had to find the room ourselves and this is when it began......

ROOM 110!!! beware of being put in this so called room, The room was tiny with a tiny bathroom, dirty, blown lightbulbs and opened out on to a roof with an extractor fan, no lock on the door either. It was dark and by staff cupoards, it resembled less than 1* staff quarters NOT a room to stay for a holiday! We refused to unpack bearing in mind this was our HONEYMOON!!! We complained to reception who were not interested and said they were fully booked. From here, we refused to unpack and got straight on to the rep in the morning. We got a so called 'proper' room and a token gesture of fruit and champagne a day later but it was too late by this time. Needless to say, I would NOT reccomend this hotel for honeymoon couples OR go through Thomas Cook who should of sorted out our requests prior to our arrival.
Our rep did sort the problem the next day and apologised and we had an amazing honeymoon AFTER all of these issues were sorted. We are going to write a complaints letter to Thomas Cook. The rep stated as Honeymooners we should never have been put in the room in the first instance so beware of ROOM 110!!!!

HOWEVER, please look at my ratings below i feel are appropriate:
staff 9/10 all amazing apart from one receptionist
buffet/evening meals and breakfast 10/10
location 10/10
hotel relaxation area/lobby 10/10
bar service 10/10 - they wait on you
rooms 5/10 (very basic, more like 2*) and could do with a paint
honeymooners 5/10
for older generation 10/10
location to beach 10/10
bus services 10/10
pollensa town 10/10
rest of hotel setting, surrounding and space 10/10
AFTER the inital upset we had a superb holiday in Pollensa and it had everything we needed including bus services across the island on regular intervals and the old town of pollensa and old town of alcudia are a treat and well worth visiting,
Also formentor beach is well worth a day trip via boat, beautiful!!!

We have just returned from a 7 day stay at the hotel. Unfortunately as we booked late we were unable to get a room with seaview/balcony. However the room which we had at the back of the hotel with a hillside view was perfectly adequate although lacking a balcony, it was large. comfortable , quiet and very clean, fresh linen and towels each day.Next time I would book earlier and get a seaviw/balcony room although it can get a little noisy evidently in the mornings. The location of the hotel is superb - stunning coastal views, located in a quiet area of the resort adjacent to a beautiful beach, about a 10 minute walk from the resort centre which has numerous restaurants and facilities.
The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly, only too keen to please. The food in the restaurant is a breakfast and dinner buffet, very good quality and much variety, good service.
The lounge and bar facilities are comfortable and the terrace offers superb coastal views. This is a delightful hotel, the fellow guests are very friendly and return often, one couple on 17 occasions !!!! It is suited for middle aged and elderly couples as it doesn't have facilities for children, it shares a pool with its sister hotel nearby. Evening entertainment at the two hotels is also shared but very good. I recommend this hotel.

Have just returned from a week at the Pollentia Hotel. The location was great, we had a first floor sea view room which is worth the additional money as the view is fantastic. The buffet breakfast and dinner were both very good, with varied dishes, only drawback is that food is served from 7 until 9 in the evening which was too early for both of us after a lazy afternoon lunch. In september hotel seems to cater mainly for older guests, and we found that staff seemed more occupied by these guests. Overall we had an enjoyable stay here, you couldnt really beat the location.
