We stopped off here at market day and decided to try the offer of a slice of pizza and a glass of wine ar 4 Euro.

A quick snack was all that was required we ordered and what came could be described as part of a loaf of bread smeared with tomato paste and cheese. I have been to Rome and had Calazone and Pizza and Naples where it was cooked in front of use so you can imagine our surprise when a 2 inch thick piece of bread arrive. I have seen deep pan but this was too thick to even be considered a pizza.

We tried to eat it with a knife and fork but failed to cut it up so it was abandoned.

The wine did not arrive so we requested it again we can say that we could not complain about that, this is supposed to be a italian restaurant but I would not like to take a chance on a main meal here.

You can get a slice of cake and a cup of coffee for this amount in Pollenca

Dear Sir,

Thank you for choosing to take advantage of our offer on Market Day and taking the time to write your review. We have discussed the various points your have written here and would like to offer the following response.

We realise that now that it in the first instance, our offer was not translated correctly as our Italian chefs have assured me that in Italy, if you stop to have a"Pizza al trancio", this is always served as a thick slice of dough with the chosen topping, most often tomato and cheese. Our translation of "Pizza slice" does not portray this and would of course be understandably misinterpreted as the commonly round thin based pizza. We will be changing the advertising of this product next market day and will endeavour to be clearer in making sure everyone is aware of the difference.

We would have welcomed your comments at the time and can only wish we could have been given the opportunity to rectify the situation.

Our market days on a wednesday morning are busy though we do put on extra staff for the few hours to cover this. Clearly we need to review the situation to make sure that our clients do not need to ask twice for their drinks. We do apologise that you needed to do this.

With regards to the quality of our main menu offered in the evening. We feel that it would be a shame to suggest that the "pizza slice" experience is an indication of our evening meals. We strive to maintain high standards from both our kitchen and front of house staff and take any comments left on the site as a reflection of this combined service, always with the intention to learn from any mistakes we made.

Thank you again for your comments

This restaurant is just on the square in the Port of Pollensa, it has very comfy white tables and chairs with the added touch of purple servettes and flowers. The food here is Italian influence with daily specials, we had the set meal as its was mushroom week so mushroom salad with cheese then pork in mushroom sauce, followed by the best tiramisu ever! The service here is very friendly, the lady who must own it is very attentive and friendly. We have also been here in the mornings for breakfast, again food is great and they serve the best coffee. The free wifi is also a bonus. This is one restaurant will be always be returning to.

This was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. The menu was lovely and not just your standard "bruschetta, pasta, pizza". The choices were varied and interesting and the menu wasn't over long.
The food was just fantastic. Very simple but elegant and tasty. A nice wine menu and absolutely excellent service - attentive without being fawning.

I'd happily have gone multiple times during my holiday.

Really lovely Italian restaurant in main square in Puerto Pollensa. I believe from visits many years ago that it was the much loved Tango restaurant in this location. Osteria however was a delight, very attentive staff and lovely peaceful atmosphere.
The freshly cooked food was absolutely delicious and quite large portions which after we had tucked into the whole basket of fresh bread and garlic butter we were almost full.
It is very reasonably priced for such an upmarket restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there and will return on our next visit. Would highly recommend and dress up just a bit as it is smart.

What was not to like? Set at the corner of the main square, in summer this will be a "watching" spot , as the world goes by!!
Food, service and atmosphere in abundance! When we return in October this will be on the list!
