Just spent 2 weeks at the Miramar and were very impressed. At first glance the decor is a little old fashioned but the owners have updated with modern touches such as air con, wi-fi and flat screen tvs with some english channels - useful for the football! The rooms are clean and comfortable and it is worth pay ing for a sea view. We had a first floor room with a huge terrace and a separate sitting room. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice, lunch is good but service can be a little erratic. We only ate in the hotel once in the evening and were disappointed with both the food and the service, it was the worst meal we had all fortnight.

The hotel is in a fantastic position on the Pine Walk promenade amidst plenty of bars and restaurants. It has a private sun terrace on the beach with plenty of sunbeds but limited shade. It does have an outdoor pool but it is in the spa area at the rear of the hotel with a small gym and indoor jacuzzi. We did visit but found it lacking in character - not like being at the seaside at all!

I sprained my ankle towards the end of the holiday and the staff were very helpful, they even lent us a wheelchair so we could still get out and about.

Port de Pollenca is beautiful, a lovely mix of bars and restaurants. Holiday makers tend to be couples and families with young children, no stag/hen parties or rowdy drunks. The one complaint I had about the resort is the number of cyclists who treat the roads and pavements as their own. They ride the wrong way down one way streets, do not give way to pedestrians on zebra crossings and ride in packs at speed along the promenade. I even saw an ambulance with lights and sirens have to give way to a cyclist riding the wrong way down a one way street.

Room Tip: Book a sea view

We have just returned from our second stay at the Miramar Hotel and truly wish we were still there. Everything was, as before, lovely. We had a sea view room and absolutely wallowed in sitting there each night with a little aperitif before we perused the numerous restaurants to decide which one to eat in. It was fab. My husband and myself enjoyed a run each morning at 8 o’clock along the beautiful pine walk and because the breakfast was served until 11.00 a.m. it made it so much more enjoyable as there was no mad rush to get back. We looked around for the best deal for changing our money and although some bureaus advertise (boldly) that they have the best deal and in fact it did seem like that until you went inside and discovered the ridiculously steep commission that they charged, we found that we got the best exchange rate in the hotel, for zero commission. If I had one tiny little niggle, it would be that I think they need to replace their towels, we found that we could not get dried after a bath or a shower, the towels simply slid off you and you had to almost drip-dry! The house white wine served in the hotel is lovely. A full glass, served really well chilled, is only the cost of a pint of lager, also, we ate there at lunchtime 3 times, and I can recommend the spaghetti bolognaise, really tasty and a very good price. We booked through Sovereign Holidays and I can thoroughly recommend them. Everything was perfectly organised and the private airport pick up and drop off was fantastic - all in all a brilliant service.

The owners and staff at the Miramar give top class service, our room was spotlessly cleaned each day and the attention to detail was excellent. Breakfast was buffet style with a great choice of food, good coffee and fresh fruit. The staff were all friendly and polite and we enjoyed the sun terrace and the outdoor dining area for evening drinks watching the promenaders on the esplanade. The whole feel of the place was just a little more upmarket than we'd expected and we were pleased that we'd paid a little more for such a good hotel and surroundings. We were advised well by our agents, Wedmore's 2Js, looked after by our operator, Classic Collection and certainly happy with all aspects of the hotel. There was a courtesy room where we could shower and change for our late flight home and a baggage store for our suitcasses. Thank you all very much for a lovely holiday. The only little niggle was that although the bar was open for tea and coffee there was no facilities to make your own in the room.

Room Tip: I'd pay a little extra and go for a high floor sea front room, the promanade is never rowdy.

Puerta Pollensa is a resort ideally suited to the elderly(its flat) and families with young children(good beach and shallow sea). The Hotel Miramar is centrally situated and our favorite hotel in the resort (we have stayed at the Miramar five times). The staff are really friendly and efficient and the rooms clean and fairly spacious. The best rooms are those at the front with a sea view.Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold dishes and goes on until 11 am! The snack bar also has a good selection and the service is very good. We didn't try the restaurant in the evening as we find we can't eat a full meal when its hot, but its always fairly full and the diners seemed happy! Plenty of local eateries, try Tribeca just round the corner. Its good and inexpensive. No tea making facilities in room, but this is common in Spain. Couple of minor points;no tissues in bathroom and the towels supplied are not particularly good quality.
All in all a very pleasant hotel and we would certainly stay there again.

We stayed at the Miramar for almost 2 weeks from 26th May and would definitely recommend it to anyone. The hotel is in a great location and everything is so clean and well looked after.
The room we were allocated had no balcony but fortunately we were able to change to another which had not one but two balconies. We enjoyed the sun terrace on the waterfront but also loved the pool and spa to the rear.
So much about this hotel is excellent but the really special thing is the staff. They are so hard working, friendly and helpful. They were a joy.
Our first visit but we will be back and next time we will book far enough in advance to ensure we get a seaview room with balcony.
