“First Class Hotel”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

We have been going to the Miramar for our holidays for the last six years and we find it first class. The staff are so friendly and helpful and if you have any problems they are there to sort it out for you. The Hotel is kept spotless at all times. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Miramar and the reviews say it all. It was lovely to be met on arrival by Marcos & Marga. They were so helpful and because we were an early check and our room was in the process of being cleaned they showed us to a room where we could get changed and freshen up which was much appreciated. Our room 118 overlooked the courtyard and got the sun all afternoon which was perfect for sitting outside in the evening and drying out towels etc. We hired beach towels which were 10 Euro each for the whole duration and used the spa pool for most of our stay as it was so relaxing and peaceful and ideal to cool off in the pool. Loaction was excellent, just walk out the front of the hotel and you are directly on the pine walk promenade with the sea in front of you and there is a private sun terrace with loungers. Lots of restaurants to choose from along the seafront and also in the square. Buses are a cheap way to get about and cost us 1.80 Euro each way from Puerto Pollensa to Port de Alcudia. Pollensa is another good place to visit. Breakfast at the hotel was plentiful and we were very impressed with the maid service. Towels were changed everyday and the room was spotless. Only criticism would be that our air conditioning didn't get very cold and the room was a bit dated All staff very friendly and polite and I would have to say that this is the best holiday I have had. Ticks all boxes and I will definitely book again and hopefully get a seaview room this time as they were all booked up. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so enjoyable.

Just returned from a 14 day visit to the Miramar, from the moment we arrived helpful hands grabbed our luggage and led us to reception to check in. This took minutes and before we knew it we arrived at our room (220) and was being shown our view of the lovely courtyard.
From this moment it just got even better !! The staff just cant help you enough, they are kind and polite, and are quite happy to have a chat and a friendly joke with you and this is ALL the staff.
Our room was lovely and so clean, a fridge was provided free of charge. A safe can be hired for 2 euro a day and beach towels can also be hired at 20 euro for 2 weeks which is refundable.
The hotel has a lovely quaint feel to it and is just yards from the beach with its own terrace, it is positioned at the start of the pine walk and minutes from the square with all its restaurants.
From the rear of the hotel you can enter the spa and pool, this is a lovely quite area with a small but adequate pool and free sunbeds.
I could go on all day about this hotel, but the fact most visitors are returners says it all, thank you so much Miramar, a truly WONDERFUL hotel, we shall be returning soon.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms overlook the beautiful bay, some overlook a lovely courtyard

Stayed at this hotel last September for the first time, and the first time in Puerto Pollensa.
The location of the hotel is great, very central.
After check in by the pleasant staff we had a courtyard view [room 110], as we weren't bothered which type of room we stayed in, it was small but had a lovely balcony which overlooks the road and courtyard, it was cleaned everyday.
We stayed B&B only as we like to eat out at different restaurants at night.
The breakfasts were excellent and had a lot of choice, we did have a snack at lunchtime when we arrived at this hotel and it was good.
When we were there they do do a set evening menu, but we never tried this.
There is a lot of older clientele at this hotel and people do return year after year.
The pool to the hotel is at the back of the hotel across the road where the apartments are and entry was by your room card, it was very pleasant.
There is a private area for guest to use, across the Pine Walk at the front of the hotel where the beach is and sunbeds, where we went quite a lot, we didn't put towels on and always managed to get a sunbed, [but a lot of people do put towels on early].
The hotel is a traditional spanish hotel, and the staff are very pleasant.
If we did go to Puerto Pollensa again we would stay at this hotel.

This hotel excels in every way. You could not select a better position. The sea view rooms are excellent. We mixed our stay with the Miramar + another couple of weeks in their apartments (Maricel 1) behind. The service is efficient & the housekeeping top notch. We will make our 8th visit next year.

June 17th 2014. Travelled with Thomas Cook Holidays.

The TC flight from Gatwick and transfers in Majorca were on time and with no hassle.

Having been to Puerto Pollensa many times before, I'd often looked at the Miramar Hotel and thought I'd like to stay there – but it had always been fully booked, so this time, I booked early.

POSITIVES: On arrival at the hotel, 2 members of staff welcomed us as the bus pulled in and took our luggage to check-in. Anthoni then took our bags and showed us to our room. We booked a sea-view room (we were allocated room 303) and the view was perfect, with a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs which overlooked the Pine Walk (a pedistrianised promenade), marina and beach with hills on the far side of the bay. The room was comfortable, clean and average size. The beds were firm but also comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed with a range of toiletries and a hair dryer. Some rooms on the floors below/above had larger terraces for €10 extra per night.

The vast majority of guests at the Miramar are British retired couples – the sort of age range who like their hotels with character and comfort. The lounges with large sofas and TV/computers and the dining room were quietly elegant. Breakfast was taken in this dining room with a wide range of hot and cold offerings – with delicious coffee or tea. Dinner is taken outside the hotel by the pedestrianised Pine Walk. You would choose from an a là carte menu or the set menu which costs €24 which includes a choice of a generous glass of red, rose or white wine, bread and butter, 3 courses (a selection of about 3 or 4 choices per course) with a waiter service. It was nice to sit there in the cool of the evening watching people parade by. If you book dinner for the whole week, there is a 10% discount. We tried other restaurants along the Pine Walk which appeared to offer better value options – but they always turned out to be more expensive than the Miramar for dinner, with all the add-ons!

To save on the valued airline weight allowance, you can rent beach towels, dressing gowns and slippers.

NEGATIVES: It amused us to sit on our balcony at 7am and watch guests scurrying across Pine Walk to the hotels sun bathing area to adopt the Germanic habit of reserving your lounger and parasol. OK! it gets hot down there and you do need shade at some point BUT most of them never put their parasol up until later in the afternoon and they go mad if you ask to use it while they are not.

If I was being 'picky', I could mention the frayed, threadbare bedside mat or the air conditioning remote which was smashed and held together with tape or the air conditioning which didn't work because of the sensors on the balcony doors not connecting to make a circuit for the system to work – BUT a quick phone call down to reception brought the wonderful Anthoni up to sort things out.

All in all – it's a lovely, clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff which we will definitely visit again. Some guests we spoke to had be going there for 40 years or more. What more recommendation do you need . . . .

Room Tip: Specify sea view rooms because we were told that some rooms at the rear maybe a little noisy especia...
