Stayed here 12 - 19 October with my husband just to have a relaxing week away. things were quiet but still had entertainment every day and two evenings were there was a flamenco dancing show and an acrobatics show, other evenings it was the in house entertainment.

The food was very good, and was always hot and fresh.

Staff at the hotel were very friendly and it is obviously a hotel where people come back year after year as they all appeared to know the staff well.

The rooms whilst basic were clean and we had a view over the pool area. We had a room in block A so didn't get any sun in the evening but as it was drawing dark early it didn't really matter as it was still warm enough to sit out before dinner. I think block C would be ideal if you want sun throughout the day and evening.

Hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Pine Walks and about 15 minutes from the Marina area. There are some lovely bars along the Pine Walks and along the side streets.

We would certainly considering coming back again next year as there are some planned renovations of the hotel so will be interesting to see what they do.

There are many changes happening at this hotel. Firstly there is a new manager who seems to be on a cost cutting exercise. This shows mostly in the food, which was always good but now is made up of cheap ingredients and warmed up yesterdays leftovers.

They are planning to refurbish the bedrooms this winter which although good has resulted in hugh price increases. For the same two weeks we stayed this October, the price for next year has increased by 55%. At this sort of price you can stay in a very good hotel on Pine Walk.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband for 7 nights in October
Can I firstly say that this is not what I would call a suite hotel as the name suggests. They are self catering apartments without self catering equipment and no tea or coffee making facilities ... 2 cooker rings, but not a cup, kettle or spoon in sight. They are kept very clean, as was the rest of the hotel but, I have stayed in suite hotels before and they generally tend to be more luxurious than these average rooms.
We found the staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the dining room staff. The food was another matter ... boring and tasteless more often than not.... you can survive on it for a week but I wouldn't want to stay any longer.
The pool is a good size, and there are plenty of sunbeds around a very nice area.
The location is good, close to restaurants and shops and a pleasant walk to the beach, but the hotel was not very easy to find if you have a hire car.
Would we return? ... Probably not, as we feel it is overpriced.

We stayed at the hotel for 9 nights from 4th October - 13th October. Although I had been to Puerto Pollensa before I had never stayed at this hotel and after reading some of the comments I was a little apprehensive. However I was pleasently suprised, the hotel is lovely, yes could do and is being updated and is being donefor next year, having said that the whole hotel was was spotlessly clean. Rooms very spacious, comfy beds and tidy bathroom. Food was what you would expect from buffet style, although a lot better than a lot of hotels i've stayed in. Location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk from the Pine Walk. I went with my in-laws and we went on lovely walks every day, all the paths and roads are very flat and easy to walk on if you are a bit unsteady on your feet. Bar staff Jose and Kiki very entertaining. Entertainment was OK, they tried their best, some nights it was fun, but it was nice to have some background music, but we didn't have children so it was fine. Overall a very enjoyable stay and will be interested to come back and see the changed.

Room Tip: We stayed in C214 which had a mountain view, lovely sun in the afternoon on the terrace.

Stayed at the Puerto Azul from 3 to 10 October and were quite happy with the room, food etc for the price we paid. Knew before we went (from friends), that some fittings etc were looking a bit tired, but the hotel is undergoing refurbishment over winter and were were able to see a refurbished room which looked really nice. Plenty of variety on the buffet for breakfast and the evening meal, which meant that although some things didn't appeal, there was always enough choice to make up a decent meal. No problems with cleanliness throughout the hotel or with any staff. Entertainment varied from really good to poor and resident staff worked really hard, although we felt that some quizzes and bingo went on a bit too long. Excellent, secure storage in basement for cycles-I didn't take one but hired from Miguel at Pollensa Cycling (pollensacycling.com), who was really helpful and transported the bike to and from the hotel for me. We took a small travel kettle and didn't need to hire a fridge. Would definitely go back to the Puerto Azul.

Room Tip: Stayed in C208 which was on the second floor away from the stairs which looked towards the mountains...

the hotel and food is what you would expect from this type of hotel. the place is clean with entertainment in the evenings.Reception staff and waitresses are all very pleasent and helpfull. But why are some Spanish barstaff still so rude and agressive in this day and age defies belief, they should think themselves lucky they have jobs although one of the barmen was very pleasant the others made me decide to drink elsewhere as i did not want to be intimidated by impatient and downright rude behaviour.

This is the third review that I have done for this hotel and I have to say that it's still a great place to stay. The food is what you should expect at a hotel catering for up to 600 guests, its never going to be Gourmet and because of the wide range on offer buffet style is the only practical way of getting your choice of food, I note a complaint concerning the food on a recent review, well if you are not satisfied with the quality and range on offer perhaps you should be staying in an apartment and eating out everynight at your choice of Restaurant and see how much extra it will cost or perhaps staying at the 5 star Formentor Hotel or one of the seafront style over substance hotels on the Pine Walk. The Azul has a really pretty Pool area and is well away from the noise of both the traffic and the tourists on the Pine Walk where the hotels guests also eat thier food surrounded by walkers on the Pine Walk, but as I believe many of those staying on the Pine Walk are posers and like being seen by the rest of us who they think are plebs they prbably don't mind the audience.
Yes the hotel is going to be refurbished and upgraded to a 4 star with obviously an increase in prices but hopefully it will remain the hotel that it's many faithfull regulars will still be able to visit. We meet a couple during our stay who had first visited in 1988 when the hotel had just been opened and had continued to visit over the years. So many of the people that stay there come back year after year which must confirm that the majority of us find it to be a pleasant and good value place to stay. I repeat if you want 5 star food etc. book into a 5 star hotel, but I bet you will still complain. I can easily afford to stay 5 star but choose not to as I cannot stand the type of people that usually frequent these establishments.

Room Tip: Ask for block B with a mountain view for a quiet room.
