“3rd visit - that says it all!”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We returned again to this hotel in the May half term week. We are a party of 2 ladies (me & mother-in-law) and 2 boys (7 & 9). It has been refurbished and the new lobby/bar area looks very modern and inviting. The staff are, as always, an absolute credit to this hotel. Very friendly and most helpful.
Pool area was clean and well maintained and we love the fact that it doesn't open till 9, so there doesn't seem to be the early morning rush for reserving sun beds! Suits us as we weren't waking up till 9 most mornings anyway.
The one area we were most impressed with this year was the entertainment staff. What a wonderful team you have in Gary, Emma and later, Ingrid. Committed, friendly, kind and enthusiastic. A nice mix of games and activities and not too "in your face". We joined in lots, as did the children. The rooms look fabulous and are spacious but we did have a few gripes! There is by no means enough storage space for clothes for a family of 4. We did manage to find a place for things but the rooms are desperately missing some drawers. There was also no lock on the bathroom door and no shelf or rack in the shower cubicle to store your toiletries while showering. None of these are worthy of a drop from 5 stars, but would be lovely if they could be addressed.
The beds are comfy, although on previous years we had managed to move one into the bedroom so my mother in law could have some privacy. This was not possible with the new beds but, again, not really a massive problem for us. They can be a little temperamental if you decide to sit up to read in bed. Definitely designed for sleeping only! Although getting almost folded into the bed gave us all a good laugh! Shower is fab, but no bath which MiL missed. Great to have a hairdryer in the bathroom. And a special mention to our wonderful maid who, not only cleaned wonderfully, but went out of her way to recover my son's pyjamas from the laundry!!
The food was as expected from previous years. Decent quality and everyone found something to eat. Sometimes the menu was a little abstract, for example sweet and sour chicken but no rice. The chefs on the show cooking station did an amazing job at breakfast and dinner and the food they produced was always delicious and well cooked. Drinks service was a bit slow at times but always very friendly so no complaint there really. Food from the bar at lunchtime was ok and reasonably priced.

So basically, back to 5 stars from us this year! Ok, a few grumbles, but nothing that would make us consider going anywhere else!

Fantastic week of cycling based at the Puerto Azul Suites.
Room was quiet as requested, breakfasts were gret and fuelled us for the days cycling.
Recently refurbished rooms are immaculate and the whole hotel is maintained and cleaned to an incredibly good standard. The staff are first class and the receptionists are brilliant.
What's not to like ?

We only ate once at night as we enjoyed going into Puerto Pollensa at night for drinks and a meal and it was ok.

The cycling failities downstair sin the basement RE EXCELLENT TOO AND SEEM VERY SECURE WITH FREE LOCKS PROVIDED, WORKBENCHES AND TRACK PUMPS.

Ideal location for the Tramuntara Mountains and the rattler ride to Formentor.

So good we're going back for 2 weks in September - See you then :)

Room Tip: Just ask - They gave us a quiet room as we were there for a cycle training holiday :)

Great hotel , recently refurbished rooms with full size fridge and kettle. Great during school holidays if you have young children. All staff were fantastic and cheerful. Great kids club and mini disco. Food was good, breakfast great, evening meals good but could have been a little more choice.
Good position only 5 min walk to pine walk and around the same to "the square"
Would recommend.

Just returned from a stay in the Puerto Azul and can thoroughly recommend this hotel with friendly and helpful staff, recently renovated rooms to a high standard, particularly the bathrooms, super comfy beds and rooms tidied every day. We went half board which was good value and buffet style with lots of choice at both breakfast and evening meals, well cooked food, evening drinks are served by staff. Pool is clean and water monitored every day. Evening entertainment is provided by alternatively the hotel's own team and external acts and of quite a high standard for the size of the hotel. We enjoyed the rock band and acrobatic and magic acts. Good location close to the beach, although we preferred the larger beach beyond the marina area which is more of a walk. Agree with Kate L's comments, although sunbeds were hard to find as some people up at 6am putting their towels over banks of beds. I recommend the hotel put up signs to try and stop this. I would definitely revisit this hotel in the future and am already missing the lovely beds.

We have not long returned from our second stay at the Puerto Azul and we loved it even more than the first time. The renovations in the rooms and bar/reception are really great and just adds to a wonderful hotel. It was great to see the same staff who work so hard to make our stay enjoyable from the house keeping and maintenance staff, reception, dining room and bar staff...jose you are the best barman ever! We thoroughly enjoyed all our meals, there is always plenty of choice and is constantly replenished. We got on really well with the entertainment team, Gary, Emma and Michelle who were always professional and friendly and were wonderful with children staying at the hotel. A special thanks to Michelle for taking us to cala Boucher. The experience at the hotel is wonderful and is quite right that it is now four stars. We are already looking at booking for next year. I must add on the end that its good to have the presence of a manager around but we felt that during our stay the manager went beyond the point of just being a presence to the extent of giving the impression of putting alot of pressure on the staff unnecessarily as the staff are hard working and we think they are great! We'll be back asap and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Just returned from a week here and was pleasantly surprised at the high standard. The renovated rooms were lovely, we hired a kettle at €1 a day plus a refundable deposit, the hotel then gives you the cups to go with.
The food in the restaurant was really a high standard, there was always plenty and it was hot. I've no idea why anyone would complain about the choice on offer.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was spotless, the bar was reasonable - glass of wine €1.80 and pint €3, they also have Magners on draught!
There are loads of sunbeds and most of the time there wasn't a policy of reserving sunbeds with towels.
My two gripes were the pool was quite cold and the coffee came out of a machine at breakfast, when one machine broke it caused queues. The coffee in the machine wasn't great and I love a coffee con leche at breakfast, it would be great if they could make fresh coffee instead of relying on the machines, but really not the biggest problem.
The hotel location is superb, tucked away in a quiet corner yet only 5 mins walk to the beach front and the Pine walk. There is a comprehensive Spar supermarket around the corner and a few kids playgrounds too.
I'm not really one for Hotel entertainment but the team did a great job especially with the kids mini disco and were always so friendly with all the guests.
All in all a superb hotel and I would return and I don't say that about many places!

Room Tip: We had ground floor room in Block c overlooking the pool and with a toddler this was perfect.
