This aparthotel is absolutely fantastic....
The suite rooms were great - it was lovely to have a seperate bedroom and lounge. The kitchen facilities were all there but you had to pay to access them - not sure how much though - didn't enquire. We took a travel kettle/coffee and coffee mate with us but the coffee in the hotel was good and not expensive. The food could not be faulted - always plenty of choice at breakfast and evening meal and the restaurant staff were great. The pool was brilliant too with plenty of free sunbeds and loads of parasols.
The resort itself is fantastic if you want a relaxing holiday - not sure if there was any nightlife as we didn't look for it - a stroll on the sea front/harbour etc. was plenty for us after the evening meal.
The hotel is only a five minute stroll to the beach - which was great. There were plenty of supermarkets and tobacconists and not a speck of litter anywhere. The bus station was not far away and the fares very cheap - though can get a bit crowded at peak times.
We went in October so not many kids about - I expect it would be a very different experience during school holidays.
Would certainly recommend this hotel and will definately go back.

Stayed here with my girlfriend for 10 nights, half board.

HOTEL: This is a 3 star accomodation, and despite reviews you may read, don't expect 4 or 5 star. The rooms, food and amenities are typical of a 3 star.

Rooms: Basic is definately the word for the rooms. Very clean from start to finish, towels changed daily, floor swept etc. so no problems on that front, however amenities were scarce. There was a small kitchenette whch we didnt use, with a hob. Surprised to see no television in the room, not an essential by any means but always nice to have the option. Air conditioning was very welcome as weather was very hot. Storage was ample, double wardrobe in the bedroom, along with a cupboard in the hallway with hanging rail and drawers. Dont be fooled when the travel agent makes a big deal of telling you its a suite!!! All rooms in the hotel are suites, but dont expect anything exceptional or out of the ordinary. The bedroom is seperated from the main living/dining area by a door, instead of the usual open plan layout, and also the aforementioned kitchenette, but other than that, theres no difference to your standard hotel. All rooms have either a terrace or balcony, which were spacious, and had table and chairs. Terraces were quite private too, seperated from next door by a wall. There were flowers and plants in flowerbeds all along each balcony, however the balcony floor was constantly covered in ants. One final negative is the beds and pillows were on the uncomfortable side, but maybe i'm just picky. On the whole, the rooms are about average for a hotel of this rating.

Hotel: Very nice indeed, spacious pool area with plenty of sunbeds and areas to put them. The beds are stacked on a night time so you have to get your own sunbeds off the stacks on a morning. The pool has a kids area, and a deeper area, seperated by a railing. Entertainment goes on all day and late into the night, and is aimed at all ages, including adults. The First Choice reps were on site all the time, and very enthusiastic, did a great job.
Bar/reception and cleaning staff all helpful and friendly too, and the bar tariff is similar to the resort bars. Snacks, hot dogs, sandwiches etc are available throughout the day from the pool bar and are priced around the 4 euro mark, and are not bad value for money at all.

Restaurant/food: The staff are very helpful, but there didnt seem enough of them, and this is in late Sept/early Oct, so in peak season maybe it could get chaotic. Often can be tricky to find an empty table that has been made up by the waiting staff. Taking into account the short staff problems in the restaurant, they really didnt do themselves any favours by taking all drinks orders and serving drinks at the table, then insisting on you paying there and then, as opposed to leaving the bill until you had finished. Service for this was extremely slow, often 20 minutes had passed before your drinks order was taken, then a further 10 minutes for them to arrive, by which time you were almost finished your meal. Very poor, and the system did seem to confuse many diners.
The food, as with the rooms, is 3 star quality. Its ok, nothing to shout about but its edible. We only ate at the restaurant 4 nights out of 10, as the restaurants in the resort were far better, and worth the extra money. There was a good selection of food, salad, meat, fish etc but wasnt of great quality. There was a small kids section too.
Breakfast, we felt, was better. The usual fried breakfast option was available along with fruit, cold meats and so on.

Location: Fantastic, at most a 5 minute walk to the beach, and the endless range of shops, bars and restaurants that line it. Situated more toward the north end of the resort, there is a pleasant walk of maybe 1.5-2 miles from one end of the resort to the other, but theres always something to see, or somewhere to stop for a drink along the way. The resort is reasonably quiet and certainly family friendly aswel as good for couples.
Prices at most restaurants are around the 30-45 euro mark for 2 people including drinks. Bar tariffs approx 3-3.50 euro for pint of lager, and 2 euro for soft drinks, so similar to UK.

In a nutshell then, I would stay here again yes, its a great base for the resort centre and wider area, however I would opt for a room only or self catering option is possible, as the restaurant was too much hassle, and the food very average.

We were booked for a week in Puerto Pollensa when easyJet warned us of the Spanish general strike and so we took up the offer to switch our flight out to the day before for free. That meant we had to find somewhere to stay for the extra night and a quick trawl of Travel Republic came up with one night's half board for the 2 of us for £25, which seemed incredible. I have to confess that I was expecting a hitch when we arrived but we were expected and we even had the quiet room we requested. The place was buzzing when we arrived as it was evening meal time, but we were impressed by the staff who clearly managed to combine hard work with being very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and plentiful with plenty of choice, though the cooked food at supper could have been warmer (but perhaps that was because we were late in). Next morning, the dining room was even busier but the outdoor areas were not being used because of the strike so presumably there were fewer tables available. Again there was plenty of choice for breakfast and nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff.... who wore civvies to show their sympathy with the strikers. As it was outside school holiday time, the guests were mainly couples, but there were quite a few toddlers around. The evening entertainment was obviously popular judging by the crowds sitting in the indoor stage area when we came out of supper, but we didn't wait to see what the lady with 5 parrots was going to do! As "outsiders" who would not normally choose somewhere like this to stay, we got the impression that the place was well run and catered well for its target audience. For us it was fine for a night (especially at just £25) but we wouldn't have enjoyed the hustle of meals for a week. Lots of people clearly do enjoy Puerto Azul, though, if the coachloads we regularly saw arriving after we'd moved on to our previously booked accommodation were any yardstick.

I travelled to majorca with my wife and 2 girls ages 9 and 5 and stayed at the Puerto Azul hotel. The hotel its self is basic but adequate for a half board holiday. I must mention all the staff are very friendly always on hand to help or give advice. We booked with first choice and was very impressed from start to finish. My children absolutely loved it here plenty going on for them in the kids club from arts and craft to chocolate parties and plenty of games. All the reps and childrens entertainers were fantastic especially Crazy Kelly, Becky Boo and Agadoo Ange. The resort it self is not for children apart from a fabulous beach. The resteraunts are very impressive on the sea front but expensive.
All in all fab holiday was going to book for 2011 but was told to check reviews next year as its changing into an academy and there could be multi nationalities there.

This is a 3* hotel but has everything a 4* hotel has, and more. The hotel is a nice sized hotel, everything central, beautifully laid out, spotlessly clean and spacious. The food is excellent with many varied dishes for all tastes, and you never get the same main courses during the week. The staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful. The Kids entertainment staff are 2nd to none, and although just myself and my wife went on holiday without any kids (we are in our 50's), we found ourselves well entertained by the staff and the acts that were on each night. The port of Puerto Pollensa is beautiful and very quiet. We had a wonderful time. Met many people who had returned to the hotel on several occasions and you never know we might now be one of those people in the not too distant future. We are not always the easiest people to please on holiday, but the hotel and all the staff excelled all our expectations.

I have just retuned from my holiday at the puerto azul in puerot pollenca! i was travelling with my elderly neighbour. on arrival to hotel i knew things were going to be good as we were met by two female reps who wanted to carry our suitcases for us.
the food at the hotel did vary every night, some nights you couldn't really make a full dinner but the food was really nice regardless.
every part of this holiday was a success right from the entertainment. we didnt really use the kids clubs but they seemed to be really good and all the kids reps seemed to be very good with the children.
The team at the puerto azul were all really hard working especially the two reps nutty nic and ninja nicci, they always had time for the guests and were very helpful when our suitcase got damaged on our flight out.
I would reccomed this hotel to anyone. even if its a family or a couple there is something for everything.
