“Great Sicilian hotel”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

We stayed at the hotel as base for our sicilian holiday. Is placed near Catania at 12 km within SS114 road. Wonderful sea view rooms with all the amenities in charge for a 3* hotel. Actually, as general overview, the hotel deserves 4*. Very good breakfast and the dinner menu is impressive. If the hotel is ranked as 3*, definitely the personnel deserves 5*. We were treated very well and we always felt like being part of their family. Our best regards and big hughs to Nino and all the team.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view even the traffic noise can be a trouble.

Very nice hotel, rooms were clean and nice. Staff was very friendly and helpfull in every request we had. There is a fantastic view of the sea and Ciclopi Islands from the balcony, be sure to get a room with a view. The hotel has a restaurant with a fixed price menu that is very authentic and tasty, you get a buffet of antipasta, a choice of different pasta dishes or risotto, a meat or fish dish and dessert for a very reasonable price. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very local and friendly.

we stayed here with a group of friends for five days and had a fantastic time!!! The rooms were simple but comfortable; comfy beds and a good shower, and we had lovely views over the coast from our balconies. The food was just brilliant - the risottos and fish especially, and the fixed price menu very good value - we ate there most nights. The staff were al friendly and helpful - in all, we had a brilliant week, and i would happily go back there again.

Room Tip: the balcony rooms over looking the sea were great.

This hotel offers excellent value for money. There is plenty of car parking, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The restaurant is fantastic value - we ate there on 3 out of our 4 nights that we stayed. The staff are very friendly and helpful - the chambermaid rushed downstairs to catch us as we were checking out because we had left some ear rings behind. The view from the balcony over the sea and towards the little islands (supposedly made by the Cyclops) was glorious. There were plenty of sun loungers around the pool. Although we did not go into Catania there is a train station near by which takes the stress out of getting into town. This is a great position to explore Syracuse, Messina, Taormina and of course Etna.

There are a few downsides to be aware of. Luxury it isn't. The hotel is near a road. The pool is not heated. The nearby town is not super pretty and we never found a restaurant in the town to match the hotel food.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a balcony room.

We have just come back from a week here and found the staff wonderfully helpful, if limited in their English. Our room was on the second floor with beautiful views over the bay and a large balcony. It was quite noisy, even with the shutters closed and the windows shut, but the aircon was very effective, which was necessary as it was pretty hot! (this was October!) The hotel is on quite a steep hill which means that anyone with walking diffficulties would find it a problem and when attempting to cross the road you took your life in your hands. No beach in the village but the pool was adequate. Everything was very clean, with clean bedding and towels every day, and a couple of bottles of water in the fridge each day too. The restaurant was a bit limited, no fresh salads, which we love, but good choice of vegetables in the cold buffet. Surprisingly no tea and coffee making facilities, but am not sure if this is usual in Italy. The staff were great.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the second floor facing the sea, noisier than at the back but much better views

We found the Hotel Staff very friendly, and helpful in supplying us with bus and train timetables, and organising Taxis and Excursions for us. Our room was on the second floor with a large balcony, which gave us a great view over the Ionian Sea !! It was quite spacious with a fridge provided and the shower room adequate. The TV was difficult to operate but instructions were provided. We would have liked another socket but managed to improvise. There was no Tea or Coffee making facilities which would have been nice in the morning etc. The restaurant was quite large but being a vegetarian - I was limited to pasta and the cold buffet. It was shut on the friday night which surprised us !! The Hotel is situated at the top of a small hill above Aci Trezza and close to a noisy, busy main road. A side road twists around behind the hotel and this was very busy too. You had to cross this road to get down to the town. Its a short walk but the bus stop is hard to find. However the Hotel with its pool was quite good in its class.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a sea view at front of Hotel.
