Four Points by Sheraton Catania Hotel & Conference Center
Ranked #3 of 11 Hotels in Aci Castello

Reception staff were delightful and very helpful but seemed stressed and overworked. The room had an 80's feel so could have done with a facelift but we had a sea view and it was sound proofed. The bed was very comfy and the linen was pure cotton, which is always nice. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss - there was a hotel slipper under our bed that stayed there the whole of our stay and sometimes things weren't topped up in the bathroom. I expect if I would have phoned down this would have been sorted out, but I kind of expected it to be done automatically as this was a four star hotel.
Our mistake was not hiring a car as apart from the restaurants over the road (the coffee bar Posada is very good) you are a bit in the middle of nowhere. Our biggest gripe was that the shuttle bus the hotel advertised as going into Catania daily was not in operation! So not having a car we relied on the 534 bus which was unreliable and the taxi's were €25 one way. The hotel beach access was also closed and seeing that the weather was glorious it was a bit frustrating having to find places nearby to swim in the sea, we ended up getting the bus to Aci Castello and swimming there. We found the breakfast unappetising, the coffee shop over the road had better coffee and a far better selections of pastries, so although we paid for B and B we ended up breakfasting over there.
I would like to be more enthusiastic but the whole experience was rather average...

Me and my friend stayed 6 night in total at the Sheraton Catania. Have to say i am not the most picky guest (even considering that i am working at the front desk in another hotel in Ukraine) its very easy for me to stay happy while vocation coz all i need is comfy bed, shower , clean set up sweet people. I feel like i got much more then that while staying in this hotel. Our room was on 4 floor with sweet little balcony and amazing view to the sea. We actually got a nice free upgrade to balcony room :) Room was a good size, design isnt the newest but i liked it anyway. Girls at the front desk were very sweet and helpful. Fi Wi i free u need only code for it. I didnt try restaurant there are plenty little restaurants near to hotel with great food . I suggest everyone to walk 1.5 km to see Aci Castello sadly we realized it was so near only on our last day in Catania but its surely worth seeing.

Room Tip: Balcony, sea view!

The hotel is located sea front with ample parking space on the street. After several nights in different towns where street noise has been a real problem, we appreciated the sound proofing of the rooms. Sheraton hotels have normally better beds than what we found in this hotel, definitely an improvement is needed here. It is around 2 km from downtown Aci Castello where we had a good dinner. The reception was efficient and very helpful in explaining street parking rules as well as recommending a restaurant for dining.

On arriving in Sicily for a touring holiday, we stayed 2 nights at the Sheraton. We were lucky to have a family room at the side, which was very quite and very spacious. The breakfast during our stay was the usual boring choice of scrambles eggs, uncooked streaky bacon, sausage and tomato or continental. The evening meal was very poor and because we were a group, there was not choice. There were a few bar across the road and shops attached to the hotel. This hotel definitely needs a face lift, because reception area's look very tired and at the moment I would only give it 3 stars.

Room Tip: The hotel faces the main roads, so if possible have a room on the rear of the hotel, as Friday and S...

The beds are on the floor with out frames and all the room sofa and chairs are very low. Very bad on the knees. the pool area is small and very disorgainzed. The rooms and bathrooms need a real overhaul. I was here 10 years ago and it has just gotten worse. Go elsewhere.

Firstly, I had read the mixed reviews and played safe by booking one night only to start. I stayed three, and considered a fourth but moved to Palermo, a great 2hr.40min trip on a luxury bus: a great way to see the island. The hotel is indeed dated, by Sheraton standards, but in regard to price paid, it is a clean, pleasant stay. Front desk staff are very efficient and pleasant, if very busy! Bar staff are very friendly upstairs.
Breakfast could be improved, with more fresh and varied offer. Sparkling wine a nice touch. Shuttle takes you into town free and back(EXCEPT MONDAY!) but there is a "one euro" bus every hour which takes you to the connecting buses/trains. Make sure to take the bus to Taormina and Syracusa..wonderful, highly recommended and a good way to see this amazing island. There is everything you need in the room, and every request was met quickly by pleasant staff. Yes, this is a good choice in Catania as it has a pool (lovely and refreshing after a hot day touring) and a private beach.

This is not the worst hotel I have stayed at- I will reserve that for another review - but it came close!
The lifts are only to be used if you like the idea of jerking up and down between a single floor until you are convinced you will spend the night there if you don't get out as fast as possible! The rooms are ok; not filthy but not brilliant either. No irons as they are apparently too dangerous, so be prepared to walk around in crumpled clothes. The pool is dodgy, dodgy, dodgy, and the location is pretty much the exact opposite of what I expected to find in Sicily ... Thinking of finding a nice hotel in an historic location? Look elsewhere! Think cheap, nasty and bad location ...
Nothing to eat in the area regarding restaurant options, and the rooms and corridors smell a bit manky. Can't wait to get out of here!
